I everybody,
it happens that sometimes I inadvertently press the pin icon for an app, in app recents screen, and I get the greenish notification that advise me I've locked the app and I can unlock it pressing HOME button and POWER (physical) button. But having gestures enabled, I don't have home button anymore. Even the two side buttons (recent and back) are disabled, so the typical way to unlock cannot works.
At last, I can't find any setting related to this function.
I'm on global 12.0.3 Poco F2 Pro .
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions.
Hi,
This is a known issue since the Pocophone F1, and ofc it's back in the Poco F2 Pro as well (and some other xiaomi devices I suppose..).
I don't think there is a way to remove the pin button unfortunately. However, there is a work-around if you accidentally press it:
do not click "OK" on the message after pressing the pin button, lock your phone instead. By doing so, your app won't get pinned, as it only really pins it after pressing "OK" on the popup message.
Note: if you already pressed "OK", the only way I know to get off the app is to restart your phone...

Have you tried rebooting after installing? Other users are reporting success after doing that.
Donate version only has the menu screen removed. Works great on my phone. Worth the donation. At least until A_C starts developing for android.

it works, donated version thought. and now has a password feature, its beta right now..
Maybe I'm a little confused here, but here goes.
I've tried downloading the free version just to see how it works, but I have NO idea where the heck to get different skins for this app?
Am I just a bit "slow?"

FWIW, how would you have it so that you don't press menu in order to get the swipe screen up? You would need to have the screen on at all times.
The difference between the paid/free versions are a nag screen. That's it.

Can't find it myself. There's talks of a "Skin Manager" - but I can't find it.
I should note that the Free version removes the menu as well now. He's doing the free versions 1-update behind the donate version. I didn't need to reboot, it worked instantly.

Power button. Iirc (don't feel like changing it back). Menu or power take you to the locked screen, this just swaps that screen for a slide-to-unlock.

Right, but this was a question for aad4321. Either the free or paid versions allow you to press any key to get to the swipe screen.
So I managed to get the different zip files with the backgrounds and whatnot onto my SD card and still no love when I attempt to change the theme or battery logo.
It says that it was successfully changed, then nothing happens. i've tried rebooting since then with no success either.
I was really looking forward to this type of app, I just don't dig the skull screen and grey swipe bar.
Lock 2.0 is a neat idea, but currently pointless graphical fluff as you can bypass the slide to unlock simply by hitting the home key. So pressing any button on the phone (home, send, end, back, or menu), pressing menu, and pressing home unlocks the phone.
If you were to take out the G1 default "press menu to unlock" screen, then pressing home twice would unlock the phone even with lock 2.0 installed.
Not to mention the fact that right now, the lock 2.0 home screen doesn't show signal (or even whether you have phone service at all), and doesn't show notifications. So I'd still want the option of bringing up the default G1 "press menu to unlock screen" until that's remedied by Lock 2.0

Mine shows the signal (upper corner) and currently activated devices (cell location / etc).
My procedure for unlock is:
Power Button to turn screen on > Slide to Unlock
Now mind you, I could very easily do Menu > Menu with the default G1. But I like to turn my phone on to see the time. The fact the default G1 doesn't allow for a background (a feature that I thought they definately should have included) on the lock screen kinda gives this program a boost for usage.
As far as I know, that is the same procedure the iPhone has (you press the one circle button at the bottom).
Seems like you guys want the screen itself to turn on to the Slide-to-Unlock screen by the sense of touch ..?

Those buttons don't have that same feature for me (I'm using the free version). The most I get when pressing a button from the lock screen is a popup that says "Free Version". I have to slide to get to the home screen, or hit Menu > Home Screen.
hmmm.. that does not happens to me.. i just tried pressing home twice and it does not unlock.. im using the donated version maybe happens with the free? :/
Looks good, but definitely has a lot of room for improvement. The menu still comes up for me, so I have to press menu, then do the slide to get out. I don't need an extra keyguard screen... :/
*Edit: The version on the market is newer than that on the site, I just tried and the market one fixes this problem.
HOWEVER, there is one other problem keeping me from installing it permanently-- the screen doesn't stay off, it turns itself back on by flashing the "Free version" notification -.-
Once I get a new credit card I'll try the donation version, pretty sure that will fix the problem since it will not be "free".
With the latest version there is an option for a password lock. You have to enter the password to access the menu too. Right now the password is 1234 only for now but once it gets updated it could lock your phone safer than the normal android lock.

I have the NXT-29C900B156 Mate 8 US, does anyone knows how to disable the lock screen that shows up when you press the power button?
Thanks, I have look allover xda without finding any info.
Be more specific!
Ur screen shoud not lock if you hit the powerbutton?
Or if you hit the power button it should be locked but without the numbers?
Hello from France,
Same question for me!
I have a Mate 8, and I chose "password:none" in "settings/screen lock & passwords". But when I use the powerbutton to turn the screen OFF and ON, it still ask me to slide. Is it possible to remove this useless page?
Go to settings menu -> Advanced Settings -> Security -> 'Power button instantly locks'... (should be at the bottom of the page)
I have unchecked this option, so that when i press the power button it just switches screen off and does not lock.
I have additionally set the option next to it "Automatically lock", to 5 Minutes.. (So that i am presented with password lock screen after some time of inactivity, the time before that the power button will just switch on/off screen)
Note that these options are only available if you have set either a password, PIN, etc.
thank you !!!

How can I remove password from a Huawei mate 8
So I thought Id try this as I would also love to just press the power button and the main screen pops up (no lock screen) so I added a pin and unchecked Power button instantly locks, but this only means that it wont lock from the power button it will lock from between 1 min to 30 min after sleep.
The problem is that now when I try to put the password back to none its grayed out and faint writing saying "Disabled by administrator, encryption policy or credential storage" ive added and taken out the pin a few times in the past whilst using (or not) the fingerprint scanner, so why now can I not undo it ?
im on NXT-DL00 17B368
EMUI 4.1
Hope someone can help me
During the "Factory reset" process I don't "ok" the "password" or "finger print" options.
I never have the "lock screen" show up

I bought a Mediapad T3 with the same useless page. Enable Developer Options, under that there's an option "Screen Lock". Disable that, and then the display won't be locked with the requirement to swipe to unlock (which is useless, except for notifications).
Hello!
How/where did you enabled the "Developer Options" in Android 7.0/EMUI 5.1?
Thank you in advance!

How to disable lock screen
You can disable lock screen with apps like No Lock (BoD).
This works with my Honor 8 (Nougat)
Don't use PIN code or pattern lock.
No worck on EMUI 8.
I'm not really sure what my question is related to, but I'm sure it's a stupid one. This is my first phone with softbuttons. My previous phones were Samsungs, which had capacitive buttons. My last phone was a Note 3, which was still on Lollipop. I had always assumed that softbuttons were simply an on-screen version of what I was used to, but the behavior is different. Not sure if that's related to the newer OS, or what. The left capacitive button brought up the menu in the app, which was often redundant to an on-screen menu option within the app, but not always. For example, in Facebook, clicking the left button would bring up several options, logging out being one of them. On the Mate 9, there's a back button, which does the same thing as the back capacitive did, there's a home button, which does the same thing the main home button did, but the square button brings up the recent app list. On my Samsung, that was done by holding the home button. So there doesn't seem to be an equivalent to the menu button I had on the Samsung.
So the short question is: how do I bring up that short blue menu in Facebook with the option to log out?
There is no button menu, you have to logout from fb menu.
So, the little quick menu in Facebook that has Logout, Settings, About, and Report a Problem is only available on phones that have capacitive buttons? You have to wade through the much longer list of options within the Facebook app to find those things? It seems odd there isn't a softbutton equivalent. Or at least an option to add one.
For some reason Google thinks the menu buttom was useless and they got removed. Even Samsung phones now doesn't have it.
On the Mate 9 you have option for Back, Home, Recents, Notifications (optional).
Swiping left/right will turn on 'reachability' mode. Holding Home brings up Google Now/screen search. Holding Recents will activate split screen mode.

Even exist a floating button with home , recents, block and back options. You can activate it from quicksettings

Well Google never implemented the menu buttom in the software-ones, just home/back/multitasking.
I carry my Pixel XL in a holster and apparently I manage to hit the upper right (power) button, and volume key, turning my phone to silent....I do this constantly causing me to miss notifications. With the screen locked, I can push the upper right button (power button) and even though the screen IS STILL locked, I can access the upper menu. Is there any way to lock these functions when the screen is locked. Anyone messing with my phone can access a lot of the functions in the upper menu, even though the phone is locked. I've tried about everything I can think of, restarting phone, turning Ambient functions on/off....nothing figured out.
I have searched for an answer, but haven't located one. What I've seen is that with the OS/Pixel Setup, there is not a way to lock the volume or secure the upper menu screen on screen-lock. My Galaxy S5 completely locked, my friends iPhones completely lock.
As a temporary fix on the volume issue, I've downloaded "Volume Lock". It locks my volume, but my upper menu is still accessible.

Smart Lockscreen Protector works for keeping the power button from bringing up the power menu, but sadly when Android 8.1 came out on the Pixel, the app's option to block the status bar pulldown has been broken. It had worked perfectly before that. The app was last updated almost a year ago. I have happily purchased the Premium version, which might've been necessary to get it to auto-start (at least, built into the app auto-start). I may email the author and ask about that feature on Android 8.1.
I don't understand why this isn't standard or at least presented as an option.
FYI, even on Android 8.0 on some different devices than the Pixel, the app isn't able to block the status bar pulldown.
Edit: I emailed him.

Hello. This is an option you can find on the Moto app. I'm running custom software so I don't have it, but it goes something like "Raise to wake".
Another option is to go to your lock settings → face unlock and enable Raise to wake.
