Thanks ever so much @DoggyStar !!!
Everything works perfectly!

I'm having a driver problem. The Preloader driver seems to be working, but the MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port driver gives Code 10 and shows a small yellow triangle with and exclamation mark. SP MDT tool only finds one COM port out of the two. I've tried installing MediaTek VCOM port drivers from several sources. What drivers you had a success with? @DoggyStar @fabioganga

Woohooo Im a year or two late but it worked for me flawlessly. Thanks.

Good for you

How I installed madOS (Oreo 8.1) on BLU Life One X (2016)

I finally succeeded it, after literally months of trial and error! So, I am writing this post in hope that someone who wants to install Oreo on Life One X in the future would find this post through Google search.
Here are the steps.
0. From this page (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/rom-official-mados-wiko-fever-clones-t3762800), download the TWRP recovery and the madOS Oreo ROM.
1. Download the BLUEFEVER ROM from this page (https://www.npcglib.org/~stathis/blog/2016/04/13/turned-blu-life-one-x-wiko-fever-4g/).
2. Download the SP Flash Tool from the page above or through Google search. The version I used was 5.1812, which seemed to be the latest version.
3. Download the Universal ROM from this page (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/flashable-wiko-fever-stock-marshmallow-t3720484)
4. The critical things is you should not flash the Universal ROM as it is, because that bricked my One X. You need to copy "preloader_l5460.bin" and "secro.img" from BLUEFEVER in step 1 and overwrite them to the Universal ROM.
5. You need to install the Mediatek Driver. I used "MT65XX USB VCOM" driver. I found it using Google search, but forgot where I got it from. But with that name, I think you can find it.
6. Now start the Flash Tool, and and select the download agent in the Flash Tool directory (MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin), and select the scatter file in the Universal rom (MMX BLU), and then select "Format all + Download". Then, this is very important, press the download button BEFORE connecting the phone, otherwise it will not work.
7. Now, turn off the phone (I mean, power off, not just screen off) and then connect it to the PC. If the tool does not recognise the phone, press volume up + down at the same time when you connect it until the device connected sound comes from Windows.
8. Now the tool flashs the rom. Wait. It may take a few minutes.
9. If it is bricked, just leave it for a month until the battery drains and completely turns off, and then try flashing again.
10. Now, boot up the phone, go to Settings -> About and hit the build number several times to enable the developer menu.
11. In the developer menu, enable OEM unlocking.
12. Now, install the Google USB Driver. This can be easily found through a Google search. You need to get the "platform-tools" directory of the Android SDK, which can also be easily found.
13. Now, turn off the phone, and hold volume up + power button. The phone shows tiny menu (really tiny...). The first is recovery, the second is fast boot, and the third is normal. Choose fast boot. Type "fastboot oem unlock". You need to press the volume up button on the phone now.
14. Now the phone is unlocked. Type "fastboot.exe flash recovery twrp_wiko_fever_oreo.img" to flash the recovery.
15. Restart in the recovery using the 13th step.
16. Go to Wipe -> Format data and format the data, otherwise the recovery will not recognise the storage and will not boot.
17. Go to Open Gapps and get ARM64, 8.1, micro. Editions above micro will NOT install with an error message that says insufficient storage.
18. Now connect the phone to the PC. The TWRP recovery automatically mounts the storage to the PC so that you can copy files into it. Copy the mad OS rom ZIP from step 0 and the OpenGapps from step 17.
19. Flash the two using the install menu of TWRP.
20. Done.
I do not use One X as a phone, so I skipped the radio flashing steps. It currently shows the baseband is unknown. If you want to use the phone feature, I think you need to flash the radio img or something using the instructions somewhere in the linked posts.

Ok, now you need to unlock bootloader. Follow the next steps:
Download to your pc the latest version of adb installer from here https://androidmtk.com/download-15-seconds-adb-installer , in the process just type "y" to all questions. After it finishes unpack this adb folder and put it in your main drive, by i.e. c: drive
View attachment adb.zip
Install all the drivers for your device.
1- In your device go to settings/about device/build number and tap 7 times, then go back to settings and you will see developer options into settings, enable USB debugging and enable OEM unlock if it´s present,
2- Extract from the zip twrp.img and put it inside adb folder
View attachment twrp-wl2.zip
3- Connect your device power on to pc and run the file "run-adb" as administrator with right mouse button
4- Type adb reboot bootloader and you will be prompted in display of your device, tap on the small box "always allow" and tap on "ok"
5- Now device will reboot to fastboot mode, type fastboot devices you have to see a serial of your device in the window, then if it´s detected type now fastboot oem unlock you have to confirm wiith the button of your device, pay attention.
6- Then you will go to flash twrp onto your device, for this type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and then to reboot to recovery type fastboot boot twrp.img is important that here device reboots to recovery before to reboot to system.
7- In twrp you will be prompted to allow modifications, just swipe to confirm.
If you also want to root your device download the latest version of Magisk in zip format to flash it through twrp.
When al finishes if sucessful you have to format data (all your data will gone) in order to can reboot to system again due to encryption, anyway unlocking bootloader most probably you will lose it before.
Read carefully and do steps one by one, don´t jump nor ignore nothing of the indicated to avoid any damage. If you are not sure in some steps just stops process and ask before.
I´m not sure you that this twrp matches for your device cause I can´t try before and but will see that.
Don´t forget to provide screenies of the process if something goes wrong to can clear.
OMG Thank you very much for this guide, I'll follow the steps later and post a pic after~

Install/Update Factory Image keep or wipe data
Important Note(s):
When doing a major upgrade i.e., Android 10 (Q) to Android 11 (R): I recommend doing a clean install. What is a clean install?:
Doing a Factory reset prior to installing, major, update.
Using flash-all.bat file without removing the -w.
Always verify you have the latest version of SDK Platform-Tools installed on your computer before installing the Factory Image: Pixel 4 XL - coral.
If your phone is rooted and you have Modules installed and you want to 'Keep Data', remove them before you install the Factory Image:
Why? Some Modules need to be updated before use with a new Factory/OTA image because (sometime) Google makes changes to Factory/OTA images that break the Modules.
How to remove Magisk: Open Magisk App ==> Tap Uninstall == Tap Restore Images.
If you get an error: when flashing the Factory image, try one of these options:
Change the USB port to a non charging USB port.
Change the USB cord to one that doesn't have the blue color head or use a USB C to C cable.
Change Computers.
Backup your data
Download the latest Factory Image: Pixel 4 XL - coral to your Computer.
Extract the factory Image to a folder.
Keep Data
Open the folder you extracted the Factory Image to and Edit the flash-all.bat file with a file editor i.e. Notepad. Remove -w from this command: fastboot -w update image-coral-aa9a.999999.999.zip
Note: If you do not remove the -w your data and internal storage will be wiped.
After, you have edited the flash-all.bat file. Copy/Move these files to the Platform-tools folder:
bootloader-coral-....img
flash-all.bat
image-coral-....zip
radio-coral-....img
Open a Command Prompt on your computer in the Platform-tools folder ==> Boot fastboot mode on your phone ==> Connect the phone to the Computer.==> At the prompt type: flash-all and press enter.
Note: During the flashing you may notice the phone is in fastbootd mode that is a normal for Android 10 (Q).
System will reboot when flashing is complete.
Do #7 or #8 to root/reroot.
Wipe Data
Open the folder you extracted the Factory Image to and View the flash-all.bat file with a file editor i.e. Notepad. Verify the file has the -w in this command: fastboot -w update image-crosshatch-aa9a.999999.999.zip
Note: This will wipe your data and internal storage.

Thank you!
No, but look at # 9C
How do you know what November security patch to choose? When I go on the factory website there are three different versions of the update.

So this may be a dumb question but, does accepting an OTA relock the boot loader?

No, but you must be Stock to accept the OTA, unless you do the Magisk OTA Installation.

AFIK there is no method of unlocking the bootloader of a Verizon Pixel 4 XL after you activate it.
This thread suggest a possibility of unlocking A Verizon Pixel 4 XL bootloader if done before you activate it.

[Resolved] How to root Vodafone Smart Tab 7 (Tablet) VFD 1100 (Solved)

Hello,
After i searched almost 24 hours on the web for a way to root this stupid tablet, i find an unusual one.
I try to make it clear for all of you.
Requirements:
- PC running Windows 7/8/8.1/10 | You can use linux but I cannot guide you as how to setup adb drivers or preloader drivers,
- USB Cable,
- ADB-Setup file (see below),
- TWRP recovery aka recovery.img.zip,
- SP_Flash_Tool (SPFT),
- MT6580_Android_scatter.txt (see below),
- MTK_USB_All preloader usb vcom drivers,
- superuser.zip (don't confuse this file with phh superuser, they are not the same),
- phh superuser (install it at the end, on the tablet).
DO NOT EXTRACT the superuser.zip !!
You can extract all other files.
Flashing TWRP
1. Download the MTK_USB_All preloader drivers from the archive of this post and follow the guide on how to install.
2. Download the new SP_Flash_Tool from the archive of this post and extract it anywhere.
3. Open the SPFT folder and locate flash_tool.exe and RUN it as Administrator.
4. If it says anything like cannot locate scatter, press ok and ignore that message. Go to scatter loading and select your MT6580_Android_scatter file you downloaded.
5. Download TWRP recovery aka recovery.img.zip from the archive of this post.
Extract the archive to get the recovery.img file.
5.1 After you open the flash_tool.exe, look on the list from the scatter file for recovery; Follow step 6.
6. Select the recovery by pressing the little box next to it and then move over to location of the recovery and choose the recovery.img.
7. Power off your tablet, wait 1-2 minutes and then connect your usb cable to your PC.
8. Press Download at the top and then connect your tablet to your PC throught the USB Cable.
If you have the battery in and it doesn't work, wait until the logo of the tablet shows up then try again. If that doesn't work then try again without the battery.
8.1 When the Download is finished (you will see a red bar, then a green bar to confirm), if the tablet doesn't open up, remove the USB Cable from it and wait for few seconds.
Then the TWRP menu should appear. This should do the magic.
Rooting:
1. Download superuser.zip from the attached files and place it on your SD card.
1.1 ADB arhive has in it a ADB Drivers installer that only needs 15 seconds to do the trick. Please follow the instructions from there.
1.2 ADB folder will be located from default on partition C, or if you have another one, on the OS partition.
2. Reboot your phone to recovery using the command "adb reboot recovery" from a CMD runned as administrator from the ADB folder, or do it via external buttons.
2.1 When you execute the command "adb reboot recovery" the TWRP Menu will appear.
3. Navigate using volume buttons and select using power button, or touch if you want. Go to install from the TWRP Menu then choose superuser.zip from SD card.
Flashing should take only few secconds, then reboot your tablet.
4. Install phh superuser app from the arhive of this post and that's it. You will be rooted.:good:
* I hope this will help you to do this step more easily then me. Be well !
