Speakerphone (loudness, clarity) - OnePlus 8T Real Life Review

Proper etiquette aside (hint: don't use speakerphone while doing your "business" in a public bathroom), rate this thread to express how you think the OnePlus 8T's speakerphone performs. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it's loud and it's clear.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Thought of buying it, saw the 2018 resolution "2340 * 1080". I am using Oppo Find X2 with 120Hz and Quad HD, I can never justify this purchase. The only reason they went with Full HD+ instead of Quad HD was because 8T would have eaten into the Pro marketshare. It's a sad corporate decision and will cost them dearly the money the people that want to have the latest and fastest features. ROG Phone 3 I can understand, One plus 8T is supposed to be for media consumption primarily, not gaming, so it's a terrible terrible decision to go for Full HD+.

Yeah, as you said...but why under the comment regarding speakephone? Wtf? :silly:

Came here to find actual opinions about the speakers. Instead, I found the most irelevant comment. Thanks for letting us know about the phone having fullhd+ resolution, I guess. I'm sure no one knew.

when i calling someone sound qulity too slow in buds z ..while music and all laudness but call qulity problem ..with this device

Stereospeakers are loud and clear but causing resonance to backglass even at quite low volume. Probably speakers is mounted without any padding to the frame but isn't it nice to feel the music

Thanks for sharing, I found a lot of interesting information here. A really good post, very thankful and helpful that you will write many more posts like this one.

Zenfone 6 vs Pixel 3a XL

Both are about the same price here so not an obvious choice..
i mostly care bout holy trinity of great cam+great batt+updates so one would argue its a no-brainer but still considering asus for some reason..
why did you go for Z6 instead of pixel?
Honestly, between the two the perceived value is the biggest thing for me. The Pixel 3a XL costs £470 vs the Zenfone 6's £500 price tag.
The Pixel has: OLED screen, expected quicker/longer support, great camera.
The Zenfone 6 has: More powerful chipset, more ram, larger screen, FM radio, 128gb vs 64gb (at mentioned prices), expandable storage, better front cam, generally better battery life ( according to GSMArena, only loses in video playback).
If the Pixel 3a XL was priced below £370 instead of £470 I'd probably get it and deal with that tiny storage for the sake of OLED, camera and quick updates. The current price just seems way too high even though 90% of the time I likely won't notice the chipset difference it's nice to have the option for things like emulation or just brute forcing against slowdown over the years.
I'm at the choice between 3a XL @ £450 VS Z6 @ £370 so..
Also "life" drain test like this makes it not an easy choice

Don't take this test so seriously. For example he didn't disabled power hungry Facebook and Facebook services on ZF6.

Where are you seeing the Z6 at £370?
So do you think gcam app can get as any closer to the pixel quality. It is the only concern I can think off work Z6

Camera, back cam shall be a bit(small may be) better than Z6 with gcam.
Camera selfie, DxO score for selfie is highest for Z6. If selfie is important, Z6 beat pixels/samsung due to flip cam.
Z6 beat others in battery life too (min 2 days and reach 3+ days for medium usage). Better processor than pixel 3a as u know already. Trust me, you will never be disappointed with Z6. I moved from s10+ to Z6 for better battery and selfie cam and I am happy with it.
So I actually got the Pixel 3a XL despite my original comment because I couldn't keep waiting. The camera is great (rear cam for standard shots seem better than the Z6) but you lose out on wide-angle, so got to think how much you'll miss that. Battery life is pretty good. Probably a lil bit worse than Zen 6 in most real world use but I get 9 hours SoT (mix of reddit, discord, maps, youtube, snapchat, whatsapp). I haven't had any issues with ram or speed like I was concerned, if you don't care about games the 670 will probably feel about the same as the 855 99% of the time.
If I could have the choice to switch to the Zenfone 6 free of charge now... I'm not 100% sure I would take it over the bit better rear camera and guaranteed and fast updates. The Zenfone 6 is definitely the better value + power, but for my casual use I don't think it matters that much to me now I have it. That said, if I owned neither and had both in front of me I'd probably buy the Zen 6 just because of the better value
E: Biggest downside is not being able to keep films and shows on storage because of the measly 64gb :'(
I ordered Z6 but after handling it for few hours sent it back and waiting for 3a XL to be delivered.
After so many positive reviews on the hinge mechanism I was disappointed how flimsy and rattle it turned out to be.
Another issue that I guess was decisive was the aosmark - I got burned twice with LG promising timely and long term support for their products (even opened dedicated r&d center) Its ok first few months up until new model comes out and support for the previous years one gets slower and disappears completely. Maybe it wont be that way this time but figured I don't have stomach for that.

Which one to keep Xperia 1 or OP7 Pro? (similar price at purchase)

I got an Xperia 1 for £500 and a OP7 Pro 12Gb model for £550, I should receive both tomorrow and sell one of them later, just really unsure which one to sell, I know tomorrow I'll have a better perception, but at the moment, I can't make up my mind, why I should keep one over the other, they both have stock Android, Sony's has very fast security updates, almost on point with the Pixel phones, and that 4K screen should be amazing, now the OP7 Pro, has an amazing dev community, no features lost if bootloader is unlocked, like on Sony phones, all screen design (unsure how I feel about this though, not having where to hold can be annoying, had that issue with the Vivo Nex 2), 90Hz display (but my eye can't see the difference, had the Razor Phone 2, which has a 120Hz display and not that big of a difference in my eyes) and bigger battery (again, reviews say that at 90Hz it drains pretty fast). Did not mention cameras or fingerprint sensors, because both seem to be on par, in-display fingerprint are a bit meh, curious to see how good the OP7 Pro is though, because the ones I've tried, still make me miss the old school fingerprint readers on the back and the Sony side mounted fingerprint is also meh.
Considering the prices I got them for, which one would you guys keep and reasons, would really appreciate your opinions on this.
Have a great day everyone.

Regarding 4k - I came to my OP7Pro from my XZ Premium. Sony isn't bad, but it's not as good as OnePlus. I haven't used 4K even once. It was completely useless. Heck, I intentionally forced my OnePlus to stay on FHD. My battery life is beyond 6h SOT. All day battery. It's amazing. Warp charge works, it's real. It's amazing. I don't know what you're talking about with 90hz. I can see the difference. The moment I looked at a high refresh rate screen I saw the fluidity. I'd keep the OP7P, but both options are definitely great. You can't go wrong with either option.
The moment I saw a 90hz screen I decided that I will never again purchase a device with less than 90 Hz (even better with 120hz). So it would be a no brainer for me.

Thanks for the reply guys, it must be my eyes then, they had better days, I had correction surgery a couple of years ago, they must have messed up something xD
I understand that 4K is only seen in 4K photos/videos, so I agree that it is not a real plus. when I have both in front of me I'll share my experience.
The Pro is the way to go...if you like it! Cheers

I have had both for over a month, sell the Xperia 1, trust me
I had an Xperia 1 for 5 days before I returned it and got this, I can assure you this is a decision that you will not regret. I have been an Xperia fan boy for the last 6 years since the first Xperia z came out in 2012. Sony have also ruin to find by putting DRM keys on the devices and you will lose major functionality if you unlock the bootloader... With the oneplus all is good with unlocking the bootloader and you can be anything you wish on the phone. although it hurts my heart from the inside Xperia one has got nothing on the oneplus 7 pro the device did not just feel right and was hard to use for me. it appealed to me in the slightest and everything that oneplus 7 pro has overwhelms the Sony Xperia 1.
I don't find it aesthetically pleasing too,Not Sure about this one but they always lacked in Camera Department too
Guys Do Find 60 hz to be more choppy than other 60 hz display or ist it just me? The screen on my iPhone Xs Max seems more fluid & responsive than Op7 Pro when 60 hz is selected
Quick update, I received the OP7 Pro 4 hours ago, the Sony seems to be delayed with DHL, so probably just tomorrow now. OP7 Pro so far seems very nice, the case that comes with it unfortunately peels off the screen protector when it's on, I guess the screen protector that comes pre installed it is not centred, so, on the top right corner, the case is peeling the screen protector, I'm using it without a case now, it's the same size as my Note 9, so not a big issue, the Note 9 does have a better grip though, the OP7 curves more then the Note 9 and that makes it less grippy, if that makes sense. Also tested the app drawer on the Note 9 vs OP7 Pro and I can see the 90Hz now side by side, but I think I can still go back to a 60Hz display, it's not that of a big deal IMO.
I'll do some more testing tonight, maybe some night shots if I have time, between the Note 9 and the OP7 Pro let me know if you want to info in a Note 9 vs OP7 Pro.
Sure Why Not....Can You compare both on 60 hz,The Thing I mentioned above

So setting up the OP7 to 60Hz and comparing to the Note 9, both look the same, iPhones do have higher sensitivity, so it appears smother, but 60Hz on Android seems to be the same on the OP7 Pro and Note 9.

EBay, as typical Sony phones, they drop price very fast, have a look there and you'll see
Typing this on the Xperia 1 and it's so comfortable compared to the OP7 Pro, the slim design is awesome...
I would pick the oneplus 7 pro. But that's just my personal opinion. I have and s10+ and this 7 pro and my sim is in the oneplus 90% of the time, the 90hz screen really is amazing and it is very noticeable when going to a non 90hz phone

Dayium! And I thought Sammy phones depreciated quickly. Nice deal!
I would pick the Xperia and sell me the OnePlus
Nah the OnePlus is the way to go..
Need t get one myself.
I won't go to anything less than 90hz after using the OP7 pro. Simple as that.
Took a photo of my living room with artificial lighting, the colours are more natural on the Sony and quality is about the same on both, keep in mind this is with the stock camera, didn't have time to install GCam, but it's running the latest OOS.

What do you guys think?

Coming from a pixel 2xl, which OP should I buy?

So I see and read all the videos how disappointing the Pixel 4 series is. I'm thinking of getting a One Plus. I see that there are different varieties of the 7 series . On your suggestion please keep in mind thdt I do like My pixel 2xl size. For a big phone it's comfortable to hold and now too tall. I see that the 7 pro is very tall.
So I'm open to hear what you owners think. Also to stay with Verizon , is the One Plus website the only deal ? Lastly would you know what Google features I'd miss or not get
Thanks!

Hey man, I also used Pixel 2 XL since it was released. I was disappointed in leaks of 4 XL so I picked up 7 pro about 2 months ago. Size they are fairly similar in size, weight you definitely feel the weight difference with 7 pro bring heavier. Dimensions they are fairly close if you check. I definitely missed all the Google pixel features but a lot of roms have same experience plus more such as omnirom tresk mod. For the display alone is worth moving from Pixel 2 XL to 7 pro I think. Good luck man.
I've had pixels before, then I tried the OnePlus 7 Pro and have never looked back...
You will miss the Pixel quality camera. Works on Verizon really well. Best Android skin ever. Screen is great, speakers good. I have a 2XL and the 7pro. Android user for a long time. First time I can say in 15 yrs I have been looking at an iPhone. Google can't seem to get out of their own way. Pixel 4/4xl is just the latest example. Good luck.

Great info thanks!
1- What about buying?
2-I want to stay with my current line would I better off buying direct from One plus? They have the finance offer.
3- How is their launcher? customization ? At least equal to the Pixel Launcher or close to Nova?
4- What features did you miss from the Pixel?
Thanks
I came from the Pixel 2XL om Verizon network. I've had mine just a few days
1 - Bought mine direct from OnePlus. Guarantee it would work on Verizon network that way. Just make that phone call to switch to CDMA Less.
2 - I pay cash for all my phones. I did see financing on OnePlus site though.
3 - I used Nova Launcher on day one that I bought the Pixel 2, I also used it on the Nexus 6P before that. I'm currently using the Stock launcher on the Oneplus. I can honestly say that the Oneplus launcher feature rich and that I don't miss Nova at all. Probably the only reason I ever really used Nova is because of the stupid Google search bar on the Pixel 2 and 6P. You don't have that problem on Oneplus, You can remove it I would say its closer to Nova to answer your question.
4 - I think the only thing I'll miss is the free original quality uploads to Goggle Photos. The pixel 4 does have the original picture quality upload and no finger print sensor so those 2 things were the deal breaker for me for the price point they are asking for the Pixel 4XL with only 6 GB / 128 GB
I bought the 12 GB / 256 GB version. Gotta love those specs more that anything over the pixel series.
Hope this helps in your decision. Feel free to ask anything else.
Hey Jeff , nice write-up!
I thought that one of the beefs is that the p4 does not upload original photo quality for free.
How would I know if I should get the 7 or 7t?
Plus is it true that it comes with a screen protector out if the box.?
Thanks

1. i have the 7 / 7T & the 7T Pro, if you're into heavy gaming i'd suggest you pick up the the 7T Pro, if not, the 7 Pro performs really well on the 12GB ram version.
2. Yes, all of the OnePlus 7 devices come with a pre-installed screen protector & a silicon case inside.
If you have more questions, feel free to shoot them my way
Jeff,
What about warranty advice?
Also, do you think my pixel sim would work or do I ned to contact Verizon for a new sim?
Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks
I must say... If you rely on a good cam, the OP should be not your choice. Unfortunately.
But if not, everything speaks OP7pro. The screen is amazing, performance great. 90hz ftw!
And i don't think the 7t pro is necessary. Unless you game a lot.

Did anyone see my last couple questions-
Warranty advice
Can I take my pixel sim and plug it into the OP?
On buying I think I'd go with the 8GB. May this time around to enjoy a little money saving. I'm kind of tired buying super expensive phones. Plus I'd be going from 4 to 8GB.

What advice do you need regarding warranty ?
Yes you can use your sim on it
Since you're going for the 8GB ram one, If the difference between it and the 7T Pro is not sky high, take the 7T Pro.

I decided to swap my Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 Pro 5g and it was serious mistake. Advantages of Oneplus 7 pro in compare to old one Pixel 2 xl are;
- ultra wide angle
- phone is a little more responsive but it's not really something which makes noticeable difference for me. I know that most nerds cannot prevent erection while talking about oneplus 7 performance but I don't share their experience at all
- fast charging is huge improvement especially in compare to Pixel 2XL
However the Pixel 2 XL also has a lot advantages in compare to Oppo Oneplus 7 Pro;
- Absolutely everything else is much much better in Pixel 2 XL. I even prefer Pixel screen because of curved display is probably the worst 'improvement' in smartphones history.
Pixel 2x is much better overall device in my opinion than Oppo op7p. I was able to find out three Oppo advantages over Pixel however if compare to g8s and probably any other flagship it's worth nothing. As example I will compare with LG G8s;
- ultra wide angel in LG is wider and overall camera experience are better mainly while recording
- G8s is still very responsive and in daily tasks the same lightning fast like OP7P
- Faster charging in Oppo is worth absolutely nothing because of limited compatibility with my chargers and it will never replace wireless charging
OnePlus is not water resistant. It's not a problem for me at all in normal circumstances but this phone has quite large gaps not only between frame and back which collect a lot of dirt. It's look terrible and I have never seen that in any other flagship. Overall Oneplus is good phone but it's not flagship. This phone is rather very good mid ranger with flagship soc because everything expect soc, ram and storage is in oneplus far worse than in any flagship phone on market. I regret that I bought this phone. Swapping Pixel 2 xl on Oneplus 7 pro was huge downgrade for me.

First of all, it's his own opinion, it should not affect what you decide on buying or not.
To simply put it out for you, if you want an AMAZING camera, don't buy the oneplus, if you want a good camera, then go for it. That's for the camera only.
As far as the reply from the guy/girl above, i have really no idea why the negative bash over the OnePlus, i've been a OPO user since their 1st device, and tbh i've never..EVER.. considered any of thir devices a Flagship or a Flagship killer like they say.
The OnePlus 7 Pro and the 7T and the 7T Pro, i have all three, and all three are performing AMAZINGLY for me in all situations, except for the camera, when it comes to taking pics i user another device, but that does NOT mean the OnePlus camera is bad, no, you just cant expect it to perform like the Pixel phones, that is all.
You want the OnePlus to perform super good camera wise? Get the GCam port APK and unleash the camera powers with that
Again, like i said, go for the 7T Pro, since you're aiming for the 8GB Ram 7 Pro, if the price difference is not huge

Plus, the One Plus website doesn't offer the 12GB ram version yet, only Amazon. . I think I may go for the 8. I can't justify the price and as is I''m going from 4 to 8.
Thanks

1 - I do not have a warranty on mine. You have 30 days after purchase to signup for whatever it is Oneplus is selling. I probably won't get insurance at all.
2 - I just switched my sim from the Pixel 2 to the Oneplus 7 Pro and called Verizon's 800 number and talked to tech support and they did the switch my device to CDMA less over the phone. Took just a few minutes.
3 - I though about going for the 8 myself over the 12. I used my sons student beans discount so I got mine for just a little over $700. If I did have the discount I would have gotten the 8 for sure. Plus buying from Oneplus you can avoid paying tax. That is it or miss on Amazon these days. Far as 7 pro 12 Gig Ram, I see its no longer available on Oneplus web site. They must be out of them.
To answer a few questions from your other posts:
1 - I know can always pay to have your photos upload to original quality to goggle photo/cloud service. But free is free. And it was free on the Pixel 2, lol.
2 - Yes the screen protector comes pre-installed. They also give you a nice clear silicon case as well.
3 - I would of considered the 7T if it came with 256 memory or a Micro SD slot.
4 - Far as that negative review. I would take that with a grain of salt. You show me a new flagship phone and I will show you a negative review, lol.
IMHO, I feel that OP7 Pro is superior to the Pixel 2XL in every way. Even the Camera with its 3 lenses. You won't be disappointed.
To Inpain and JeffBea, Thanks!!!
Now I'm a bit on the fence for the 7T pro or the 7pro.
I'm not a gamer
I want a good camera, but it;'s not a deql breaker.
I'm a performance guy but I'll probably go for the 8 Gig on either model. Can't see spending the extra $200 plus unless you have a serious case to persuade me
Thanks Again,
Rich

If that 200$ is the price difference between the 7 Pro and the 7T Pro, and you're not a gamer like you mentioned, then go for the 7 Pro

General Opinion on Poco X4 Pro (peux)

DISCLAIMER: I am using the Indian variant of the model and hence some stuff may be different for you
So i was a Poco X3 Pro user until about a month ago when my motherboard died and since they couldn't get a replacement motherboard for my device nor was poco x3 pro available as a replacement, I was being offered the Redmi Note 10 Pro, I was furious as that is a serious downgrade from my Poco X3 Pro and after some bickering I had to pay around 3000 INR extra for a Poco X4 Pro
I am using the 8/128gb variant for about a week now and here is what I have to say
This is a massive, no. HUMONGOUS downgrade from the Poco X3 Pro in probably every way possible
Camera: the global variant comes with a 108 MP main camera, however the Indian variant only gets a 64 MP main camera!
Obviously the snap 695 doesn't support 4k video recording but I did hear that it supports 1080p 60 fps recording however for some reason xiaomi only allows 1080p 30 fps
So please do not try to record videos on this device
Photos - Since I have a 64mp main camera it might be different for you
Seriously? The quality of photos better on my 4yr old Oppo F9 Pro
Performance: obviously quite a downgrade from Poco X3 Pro, lags and stutters are very noticeable
Poco X3 Pro could run Genshin Impact at Highest graphic settings at around 40-45 fps
Poco X4 Pro, just no don't even try you can literally count the frames on your screen
Thought it would be good as they literally just said during their Poco X4 Pro reveal that the massive sale for their X3 Pro was because of its performance
Display - Although it doesn't support 4k I am satisfied with the 120Hz Amoled display
but I do face a weird problem every now and then
I feel like the display is too sensitive
I hold my phone when using landscape mode with 4 fingers and sometimes when my fingers just get a bit close to the screen but not touching the screen it thinks I am touching the screen and performs tasks according to it
for example while watching yt this happens and the video either gets forwarded by 10s or goes backward by 10s
Battery: Good battery life and the fast charging is pretty nice
Overall
I don't exactly think this is worth your money...
atleast not the Indian variant
Indians are crazy for performance as 90% of them play demanding games
p.s when I got the phone it was running Miui 13.0.2 and like 5-6 hours later I got the miui 13.0.4 update and it's laggier than 13.0.2
atleast for me
also would like to know how the Non Indian variant of the device is
Global version here with 108mp cam. Granted I've never bothered for mobile gaming as I use consoles/pc for that but I've had zero lag and stuttering, screen is awesome, speakers are great, SOT is 2 days with moderate usage, camera pretty good once you use a modified gcam and I've got no interest in taking videos so lack of recording in 4k doesn't worry me.
I think people are quick to complain about a phone that's only just been released and the stock apps/firmware need some work. Just said on a previous thread - after installing MIUI EU, rooted and running multiple magisk mods I'm more than happy... People knew the processor was mid range before purchasing so stating it's slower than a high end SD processor is kind of obvious right? This phone is a decent and it focused on different areas than the previous model which has attacked some people and put off others.

Great to hear that the global variant is better than the Indian one, personally I'm not a heavy gamer too I just put in the part of performance since Poco during their x4 pro reveal just said that the massive sale of their x3 pro was due to its good performance and well then they just took a 360° turn and were like here we do not care
Gcam does make the camera a bit better but the Indian variant has a 64mp camera compared to the 108 on the global one so that's sad
have been able to get rid of a few stutters on the UI by installing Poco launcher 4
about the speakers
Is it just me or is the sound too low?
but the clarity is pretty good
edit: I'm not so interested in 4k recording but hoped a 1080p 60 fps recording would be possible

Hmmm I usually keep my speakers about halfway because they are very loud (and have decent quality imo) I further increased my quality by installed jamesdsp and with the speaker profile I use a viper DDC file called arise-army. I use a custom version for my Bluetooth audio too

I see, so what I suspected was that Indian variant of miui is reducing the maximum volume of the device so I guess that's the case well anyways I'll get MIUI eu soon I have 3 days left till I can unlock the bootloader

ah great, hopefully there's more people like you so that this phone can get a new life from all the development
I just realised that this might be one of the only devices that still start at 64gb storage in this price range, good thing it's only In India
however for my Indian friends out there...
There is no 256gb variant of peux
and well if you visit the poco official website there is just absolutely no info about the Indian variant... That's sad
anyways I finally unlocked the bootloader and got miui eu 13.0.10 this def feels better

I just bought this phone and was wondering how you do this? Do I just install an APK from here? https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-port-hub/
The Poco X4 isn't listed though. I'm a total newbie to this.

I got the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus Indian variant because thats the only one available right now unofficially. From what I heard its the only one that will come officially too. From what I've seen the performance is really good. I can play every single high graphics game at good fps. Genshin too runs 40-45 on medium settings. Its a great balanced processor if you're looking for a phone that you can game and take great pictures with. Usually if you go for a gaming device everything is sacrificed for the soc but, at least on the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus, you get a great soc for gaming and emulation (Can emulate PS2 and Wii games with 60fps!!!), a great looking if a bit fragile body and a good main camera sensor (same as previous gen Note 10 Pro Max) and awesome battery life with fast charging to boot.
Coming from the X3 Pro to the X4 is a definite downgrade but coming from Redmi Note 10 Pro Max it is definitely an upgrade.
Coming from a 2019 $100 phone here — the experience has been very good compared to my old daily driver. Everything's smooth and the camera's really comparable to a flagship with some drawbacks of course. However knowing that the hardware is a heavy downgrade from its predecessor, I'm starting to have second thoughts on this one. Sure the AMOLED screen and 5G is great and I don't really do mobile gaming as my iPad does the job for me but no 4K recording and playback? Heck, 1080p60 recording isn't even possible. Genshin Impact runs barely 30 FPS on lowest settings. I'm a bit disappointed. I definitely should've done more research on my part.

from a 2019 $100 this is definitely a massive upgrade
sadly camera is no where close to flagship store infact it's worser than almost all devices in this price range (excluding devices with the snap695 ofc)
It's predecessor was a one of thing
it didn't last long though as it had major flaws like severe ghost touch and hard bricking randomly due to cheap PMIC
but for performance it could easily beat devices tha cost 2x the price
it was a beast in terms of gaming
if you got rid of the perf kernel you're basically looking at a standard laptop
with LYB kernel i managed to always maintain an fps above 50 on the max graphics possible in Genshin Impact
Sadly the 5G aspect is totally useless to me as my country doesn't even provide stable 4g speeds so 5g isn't coming any time soon
Screen is good with a two small (most likely software based) flaws being flickering and backlight bleeding
4k video recording is even available on rather cheaper devices nowadays so yeah that's a bummer
You can actually record at 1080p 60 fps using Gcam but it's actually more of a 1080p 45 fps
Happy with the 1080p amoled display
if it was 4k then it would be an lps display
and people think that amoled 1080p displays are better than 4k lps ones but this controversial so I'd rather just leave it at that
(I personally like 4k lps)
Gaming (like real gaming not just candy crush level stuff) is sadly almost impossible on this device with it even lagging severely in apex legends mobile on the lowest possible graphics
But hey it could be saved by 3rd party development though the chances do seem slim as of now since the account that used to release kernel sources for Xiaomi devices has been inactive for a while now
i kind of feel like the device was a flop
you can disagree and it's totally fine but just look at how poco went back to the performance before everything else standard on the Poco F4

Question Should i buy this phone ? Its seem to be alot of people complain about it

ye
Depends. I bought the Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5g and I love it. In this price range no other phone can beat the sheer balance of performance, battery life and camera quality (with gcam ofc) that this device provides. All of that with a headphone jack and sdcard slot(hybrid but whatever). Most people complaining about gimmicky stuff like 4k and being able to play genshin impact at 60fps. If you are looking for a practical device that will serve you well in all areas this is the device to go for. If you want anything else, like a camera phone or a gaming phone look elsewhere.
Edit: I am fortunate to have a proper device but a handful of people seem to have gotten defective units. I don't know how many of them are Redmi and how many poco however.
Pros:
120hz amoled screen
5000mah battery with VERY fast charge
SOT is great
dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers
Rootable/magisk and has MIUiI EU support
SD card or dual SIM
Aux port
Cons:
No 4k camera? Couldn't care less for videos.
I honestly have none.
I'm very happy with my device. Takes good enough pictures (people complaining about 4k = lol. When's the last time you viewed your 4k videos on a 4k capable screen?)
Sound quality is good, speakers are loud enough. WiFi, BT, GPS and data all work great. I've got no complaints and it ticks all my boxes
I don't like it, screen is not good, easy to scratch. A lot of times I type wrong the keyboard keys, so seems like quality of the screen is way worse than my old Xiaomi 9SE. Rom is full of bloatware, hopefully someone will develop Lineage OS based ROMs. Some freezes, probably because I've tweaked the rom.
My biggest complaint is the processor
Since it's built on old architecture it doesn't support stuff like 4k recording, heck the phone is limited to 1080 30 fps by Xiaomi
with Gcam u can record at 1080p 60 fps but after some testing it seems that's it's actually 1080p 45 fps
also camera is probably worser than any other device in this price range (unless that device too is a snapdragon 695 one)
and performance is really bad like for daily usage it's fine but you cannot game on it for hell
screen is half decent but you can probably see like the 5 threads of screen issues
backlight bleeding is very noticable and screen flickering on 120hz mode
battery backup is crazy good though
and you can expect just about no 3rd party development since Mi Code
The GitHub account which used to release kernel source codes for Miui devices has been dead since Late 2021
also this is the guy who used to work on the Mi Code account
I would be so happy if they named the device something like X4, meme4, joke4, xd4 etc
they have disgraced the legendary X3 pro which took the entire smartphone industry by surprise because of its flagship tier processor and camera

I disagree with a lot of these statements. The performance of this device is very close to flagship levels as most of not all android games with high graphics can easily be played maxed out on this device. The games I've had issues with were either unoptimized or limited by kernel trying to maintain temps. The display is crazy good and makes the device an absolute pleasure to use. All this combined with the pretty much all day battery life, like I get 18hrs easy with 120Hz on, some gaming and some social media and photo taking. Not to mention you get a headphone jack and sd card slot. Now brutal here comes from the Poco x3 which was, like the poco f1 a one of a kind device that will never fit into a regular release schedule. I come from Redmi Note 5 Pro. I'm also using the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ not poco version. I've had no issues in the display side of things. Camera at least on the Indian variant is garbage. Global is fine and gcam works very well despite not having an official build for the device. As for kernel sources I say wait at least a year because I have seen sources come out very late and at least the note line is popular enough that xiaomi would have to drop sources. They know why people but their devices. And development does exist in a very limited capacity. We have a few 3 or 4 roms atm. Oh right the dolby atmos support ootb works wonders for both earphone listening and with the dual stereo speakers. Boy they sound good. Also the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ mirage Blue is one sexy looking device.
Now to the bad stuff. First of the display supports hdr but soc does not. That's fine as I don't really have any hdr content to watch. Even the no 1080p60 video is fine since I don't record much video. BUT NO SUPPORT FOR ANY VIDEO THAT'S 1080P+ IS JUST STUPID. My old whyred could play hi res video without any issue yet this one can't. Official xiaomi apps will simply tell you it's unsupported while mx player resorts to software decoding which is somehow slow as hell.
Overall it's a good device for the price as no other device can boast the number of features, performance, battery life and headphone and sdcard support at this price range. Trust me I checked.
If you are looking for a very well rounded device then definitely go for it. Here was my thought process when I bought my device. I wanted a phone that could click good photos and game well and I had planned to get the Redmi Note 10 Pro but then I compared specs and this device specwise is an upgrade in terms of the display and soc performance. Sd695 is far more powerful than the 732g. And both devices have the exact same camera sensor. So I got this one.
Go for Poco F4. The kernel should be the same as F3, so expect the same development as F3 as more people gets their hands on it. Anything missing is audio jack, bigger battery, and dedicated micro sd slot.

I'll admit this isn't the right place to post a review but I am tired of people telling others not to get this phone. Depending on the region this might be the best option for you. If you want headphone jack and sdcard slot it is the only option.
