Out of the blue my phone started receiving wifi signal very poorly. If I am more than 1-2 meters away from the router the signal is lost. No other devices in the house have this problem so it is not a router problem. Mobile data receiving works fine. I have tried to reset network settings. That didn’t help. The phone used to receive wifi signals good everywhere in the house and when I am out on a café or so.
Anybody experienced same kind of problem and have a solution?
I’m on stock rom with magisk.

This just started happening within the last week.
My phone is rooted.
It seems that when I have WiFi turned on I have a complete loss of 4G/3G/2G/G RF. If I turn WiFi off, then the phone signal comes back. This wouldn't bother me that much if I could send texts over WiFi with no normal phone signal, but everytime I try to send a text over WiFi it fails to send. Anyone else experience this issue?
Thanks
With wifi calling it purposefully turns off your mobile data so it doesn't use any of your minutes/data. You can go into wifi calling and select preferences and turn it to cellular connection preferred - that way your phone will still use your signal whenever it can, but keep in mind you'll use a lot more data and your battery won't last as long. I do have texts fail from time to time on wifi calling but it hasn't been too bad recently. If you don't have a good wifi signal then just turn off wifi calling.
Thanks for the info!
So why would the texts keep failing? I will even try to keep re-sending the text and still they will fail. Is there a specific port on the router that needs to be open for better optimization?
Unrooted 4.4.2. I switch to wifi when I get home. The past week I haven't been getting texts or calls when on wifi. No problems on LTE. I'm on Tmobile. I haven't installed any new apps in that time frame. I just got the 4.4.2 update last night, didn't fix the problem.
do you even get cell signal in your house?

Yes I get a good 3 to 4 bars always at home. No problem with the signal. Just problem with text and calls coming through over WiFi. All other push programs like gmail and exchange come through no problem over WiFi.
I'm having this issue, too. Driving me crazy.
I have Comcast internet. Could something have changed there? I haven't done any fireware updates on the router. I did just remember I had to restart the router because it went down. Maybe I need to disconnect and delete all WiFi settings and reconnect?
Google says this is a common problem but can't find anything on here. I'm on Sprint, btw.
My WiFi and Network Bars are orange in color and I am not able to use WiFi.
I can access the router using it but no connection with internet is established.
It had happened many time before, but generally a restart fixed it. Now it's not working.
Please help me

The orange indicates that you are not receiving or sending data. You may be connected to the cell network or wifi network but it's not sending or receiving data.

Thanks, I always wondered about this too... although it's never bothered me.
Everything is working fine. My same WiFi is working on other devices.
Other WiFis are working on Nexus too.
Network has full strength

Have you tried reseting the router or forgetting the wifi off the device and then reconnecting.
Yup tried all that!
Hello All,
I am trying to connect to my work network with no luck! Prior to the one plus one I had a Nexus 5 that connected with no issues. This is what happens:
1. Choose connect (password is saved)
2.The text under the SSID goes from "connecting" back to "saved" in less than a second. The signal bars show 3 then drop to 1.
I've tried forgetting the network, flashing different ROM, kernel, modem with no luck.
Turned off "Avoid poor network connections" and "Wi-Fi optimization:
With the Wifi analyzer app the connection is steady around -60 to -50 dBm. If I try to connect using the wifi analyzer app it just stays on "Authenticating". I know the password is correct, I've re-entered it multiple times.
The wifi network is using the 2.5 ghz band, channel 1, and WPA authentication.
I haven't tried connecting with a static IP, however I might try this next.
Any ideas, this is driving me nuts! Plus all the iPhones around me get to brag!
Thanks in advanced.
I'm having the same problem, and it also seems to stumble connecting to data networks. I have been toggling airplane mode on/off and it then finds the wifi and data networks. This is annoying as hell, when it should auto find and lock any network it has remembered and passwords are correct.
Does anybody have a fix, or is there a radio that can be flashed to correct this?

I'd love to hear any resolutions to this issue as well... I posted this in the oneplus forums recently:
"I am having this problem too with my mom and dad's OPO . But what's funny is that it doesn't happen to my OPO. This sort of rules out any WiFi/router/network issues. Is it possible that certain installed apps on their phones may render the wifi to be unstable (e.g. permission settings for these apps?) Any help from the community is appreciated, thanks... this is an annoying problem for them as it drains out their LTE data!"
Hi there,
I have updated my phone through "Wireless Update" found in the System menu and since it's been updated I have either low signal or no signal at all (depending on location). For example, at my workplace there isn't much signal strength by originally but my phone was available at 3/5 signal strength marks. Now I have Zero marks and no network, nobody can call me all day long. At home, the signal strength was 5/5 before now it's 4/5 constantly but if someone calls me it drops to 1/5 or 2/5 immediately.
My phone is a THL4000 with KitKat 4.4.2, MTK6582KK
Would you please help me how can I solve this problem?
Today I found out it's a phone issue and not the carrier.
I tried to switch my SIM with my colleagues' phones and my sim worked just fine, while I tried their SIM in my phone too and still no signal even with another carrier. I also contacted to my carrier and they made zero change to the signal strength or anything else in my area.
I also did a Factory Reset to my phone from the system menu. I'm not sure it reverts the recent system update that may cause this issue, but nothing has changed - again. No signal at all at my office. It worked just fine until last week and I made zero damage/fall/etc, only a system update.
So please, does any of you have idea what causes this or how on Earth can I fix this?
Thank you.
