Good morning, could someone provide me with the guide on how to flash the stock rom on the xperia xz premium correctly ?. I was in doubt which steps should be skipped and if it is necessary to delete any file from the downloaded firmware

Hi Friends,
I wanted to have my Xperia J with ICS 11.0.A.7.5 firmware to be backed up. So following some post here on this forum stating that first repair phone using PCC and then go to db\13740270\blob_fs and copy 3 files with name "File....." and then convert the file to ftf using Flashtool.
So I first repair it using PCC. It succesfully repaired but after repairing, I found that now it is not ICS 11.0.A.7.5 but its JB11.2.A.0.31.
Also instead of 3 files with name starting with "File..." in db\13740270\blob_fs folder, there are 4 files starting with that name.
Can someone please guide me out of these 4 files, which files are to be selected in Flashtool for creating .ftf file to keep the backup of 11.2.A.0.31 firmware?
Also we know that there are some bugs in JB 11.2.A.0.31 as well as its hard to root this version. So if I want to go back to ICS 11.0.A.7.5, how can i revert back.
Thanks very much.

Regarding the backup I'm not sure exactly but from what I understand you want to save the .31 firmware for future flashing. If so, if the .31 firmware is unbranded you won't need to save it because there are links to the .31 Central European version ftf file on these forums.
And regarding the getting back part, if you ever wanna go back to ICS you can just flash the ICS .ftf file ( again you can find the links in the threads here) and you're done. BTW, if you wanna update to .31 I would recommend rooting the ICS and then updating OTA so that you can keep your root.

Thanks Sir for your guidance.
I did it this way...
Previously it was ICS unbranded and I rooted it sucessfully. Then I Repaired it with PCC (for getting backup of ICS) but it was repaired with JB .31 and root was lost.
Should I follow this way ?
First Flash ICS 7.5 .ftf file, then root it, then OTA update with JB. I also want to know that :
1. Will instead OTA updating with PCC work?
2.Is there any way to get back ICS by flashing with PCC instead of flash tools?
Thanks

Not a problem man.
To answer your questions :
1- If you update withe Pc companion you will loose your root. Only updating over the air will keep the root. ( after you finish the updating process you simply need to update the superuser app from the playstore).
2- Unfortunately, if you use the repair function Pc Companion will give you the latest version available, there is no way of choosing which Android Version to install, it will choose it for you. So if you want ICS you need to flash the .ftf file with flashtools
I would love to achieve root without unlocking the BL. Like it is described in this post for the Z1.
The idea would be to flash the FTF for the (stock) JB kernel with Flashtool, apply Easyroot and then flash back the original kernel. At least on the Z1 it seems to work.
I would be willing to try, I just don't know how to get the FTF with the two kernels. Hopefully this shouldn't delete any data either and the root might stick with any future KitKat OTA updates. Does anyone know how to get a copy of the FTF for the D2303 JB and 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernels?

To get FTF for 2303 JB version, please look at the forum, maybe someone has posting FTF files for 4.3 android version.
For 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernel, you can obtain that from FTF 18.3.1.C.0.21, but only flash kernel. Don't wipe data and exlude anything except Kernel in flashtool while flashing.
Maybe you should try XperiFirm for download FTF files.

Ok, thanks. But all JB links I've found are dead. Still is it actually possible with Flashtool to just flash the kernel(s) from the whole ROM without wiping anything? That would be great.
My issue right now is that I can't find any active link to the JB ROM. Also I nearly finished my monthly Internet traffic quota already. And I don't have a Windows PC either (I use OSX). So if anyone with the ROMs and the right skills could make the kernel only FTFs I would really appreciate it.

Actually i have found one 4.3 FTF firmware. It's for D2303 and i have flashed only jb kernel on 4.4.2 but it's not working. After Sony logo, phone only switches on/off so you can't get to bootanimation even. If you have any idea tell me im going to test it. What we need is patched 4.4.2 kernel which we are going to push su file and then flash our original kernel.
Well my model is D2306, and I did the following:
1 - Flash JB ftf, root with towelroot and install SuperSU from playstore (dont update binary)
2- Update through OTA (Update Center) to KK 4.4.2, and then to 4.4.4.
3- Through flashtool, apply root via towelroot again, after reboot, install SuperSU to /system.
And now I'm rooted with locked BL. Try yourself.

Yea, that's working for D2303 too, but is little boring. So everytime when you going to brick your phone while changing build.prop for example or something like that you have to repeat that process and with this idea (just changing the kernles) could be great because it takes less time and it's easier.

So how does it work? After downgrading to 4.3 it gets two OTAs? I think the trick updating with OTAs works because the OTAs must just do an incremental install. Still i can't afford to do it every time, due to my network cap restriction (I know. It feels like living in Neanderthal).
Hi,
I have flashed pre-rooted with dualrecovery in my phone (Locked BL, though), and now a need to send it back for warranty, due to a screen flickering when using maximum brightness.
Is there a thread with back-to-stock instructions to the Z3, and specially for the 6633 model? or all I need to do is flash a stock firmware?
Is there any sort of eFuse or flash counter (as in Samsung phones) that i should worry about?
Phone details:
Z3 Dual 6633, Unbranded, Brazilian.
Locked BL
flashed Pre-rooted stock image, with dualrecovery
Just simply download the latest firmware from Xperifirm, After this use Flashtool to create the ftf file, and flash this on your device
A tutorial can be found below on how to make a ftf + flash it:
Here are two guides:
Guide 1
Guide 2
Best of luck and Happy Flashing!

You dont need to unlock your bootloader, just find a ftf and flash it with flashtool...there are many guides on the internet
Thanks for the info, can you provide me a link where I can find official Sony ftf files?
How secure is to use random ftf file from the internet? I use online banking on my phone, so I want to be sure that is secure.

There are no "official" ftf's...You can make one by using xperifirm (i doubt the kitkat files are still in the servers)
ftf in xda are trustworthy most of the time
Thanks, can you or someone else send me the theme where I can download the ftf file for my Xperia from xda?
Don't think there is any KK ftf's left on expirifirm Sony usually remove them pretty quickly. There's bound to be one on here somewhere. I think I've still got a pre-rooted KK zip somewhere for the D2303 lte, also I don't know who told you that you need to unlock your Bootloader to downgrade/use flashtool, you don't it'll work on totally stock unrooted devices. You must however wipe user data+cache+appslog when downgrading from lollipop to KK and when Updating from KK to lollipop via flashtool.
hi guys
i am on Xperia xz f8332 i tried to download latest firrmware with Xperifirm.
when my firmware downloaded via xperifirm , flashtool show me DECRYPTION ERROR
then i tried to create bundle then asked me add fsc.41 or not
1.my phone is unlocked and i lost my TA
2. i am on custom rom and custom kernels
should i add this fsc.41 to my ftf???
thanks
Solved
how did u solver? i have the same problem. thanks!
Flashing your phone using Flashtool will solve eveything.
Get the required ftf (download from the ftf post or create your own). Use the FSC when prompted.
This flashing here have nothing to do with TA.
