Anyone using the Poco F2 Pro on T-Mobile in the US?
I am. Reception is no different than my T-mobile OP 7pro. The F2pro also don't have tmobile 5g bands.
I tried to reply on Reddit to your question, but guess it didnt show due to low post count. I'm using a Xiaomi Mi 10 Global in the USA and I have VoLTE enabled over a Tmobile MVNO. Wifi calling does not really work properly, at least with the provided IMS settings. As stated above, 5G will NOT work in the USA due to Xiaomi missing necessary USA 5G bands; and 4G LTE may be a hit or miss depending on your area. As long as you're not getting the phone for 5G, it's an excellent purchase! It's not going to be necessary to have a 5G enabled phone for many years anyways, 4G is really fast enough. Hope this helps

Are you getting voLTE on T-Mobile? If so, did you have to use the dialer code to enable it?

Thanks for the info. I currently have a Mi 9 and have voLTE on T-Mobile and Fi (I did have to use the dialer code). I was just wondering if it's different for the F2 considering it lacks band 12 that the Mi 9 has. Looks like the Mi 10 global has the same bands as the F2, and you're getting voLTE, so I should be good. I also had a Mi A2 in the past, which had bands 2 and 4, which was fine, but voLTE wouldn't work, even with the dialer code. So calls defaulted to 3G, and I would constantly miss calls because it wouldn't ring. I just want to make 100% sure I can get voLTE with the F2 before buying.

Yes I'm getting voLTE and voWifi. I used the dialer code but the funny thing is to enable both I actually had to disable them. Even though after the code I get a prompt that the they're disable they are actually enabled.

No problem. I had Google Fi on my Pixel, then got the SIM to use for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Global and everything worked, but I just ended up going with another cheaper MVNO for Tmobile. The only complaint I have is generally I receive like 1-2 bars of reception in my house, when I go about 2 miles out it will jump up to 4+ bars. So when you receive your F2 Pro after setting up the APN settings, ensure in "preferred network type" it is 5G and not LTE! It will obviously not connect with 5G and default back to 4G LTE, but I had a random bug when setting it manually to 4G without voLTE, my phone calls would cut out at exactly 8minutes on the dot, NO Idea why that would happen, just giving you a warning lol. You don't need to use the dialer code by the way, you can set the "Use VoLTE" in the Mobile Network Settings and you will see a VoLTE button ontop. Have fun with your future F2, it's a great purchase .

will volte work out the box for TMobile ? They won't activate phones on their network after a while if they don't support VOLTE.... Or any plans to update it in the near future. When will this go on sale in North America?
Sent from my ASUS_I01WDX using Tapatalk
I am currently on T-mo, it doesn't do VoLTE currently, I know its possible via root and changing parameters. ALSO they just enabled VoLTE for their ROG phone 3 via an update so I will assume they will probably do the same for the ZF7, if not I will have to root it.
I asked an asus rep about sale in NA and they didn't have an answer from marketing team, so I bought mine on eBay
I'm beginning to think they will sell in in america especially if they enable volte for TMobile like they did the rog 3. I'm waiting to see if they enable volte on the 6 and the 7.
And then there's the OnePlus 8T coming in going to weigh my optione

This guy apparently has VoLTE already on his phone, unsure how though.
Will this work on att in the states? Also which model if so?
ATT will ONLY work upto 3g. You will see an H on top the signal bar which indicates a Enhanced 3g speed also know as HSPA speed connection. I have tried 2 new sim cards. I have tried several APN's I have tried all updates and a reset. No 4G and no 5G on ATT. Unless someone can tell me something new, this phone will not FULLY work on ATT. Text works. Calls work. Internet is sort of hit and miss with decent signal but again rather slow.
T Mobile will ONLY work upto 4g. No Volte although it seems to have the capability of Volte it cant not work with Tmobile Volte because it seems the cell bands are not compatible. Text work. Internet works rather fast, Good solid signal however no 5G and no Volte due to incompatible cell bands.
I did research on this subject and found that the ATT cell bands for everything including 5G do seem to be compatible with the 7 pro but again, it does not FULLY work oddly
I also did research on Tmobile cell bands and the bands for 5G are not even close to being compatible. Volte is also non compatible. 4g is compatible and works..
THIS IS MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE TODAY AS I PURCHASED A SIM FROM EACH PROVIDER ( THIS IS A DUAL SIM PHONE) AND PLACED THEM BOTH IN THE PHONE.. I DID EXTENSIVE RESEARCH>>>
IF ANYONE CAN GET THE PHONE TO DO 4G or 5G ID APPRECIATE THAT INFO>>
ASUS NEEDS TO DO AN UPDAT FAST BEFORE PEOPLE START TO RETURN THIS DEVICE. THIS AGE IS ALL ABOUT 5 G.. THIS PHONE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH USA. I DO NOT SEE HOW AN UPDATE WILL FIX THE PROBLEM SINCE THE PHONE IS ONLY PHYSICALLY CABLE OF A SPECIFIC SET OF BANDS WHICH ARE NOT NOT NOT THE SAME AS USA BANDS
Picked up the unlocked version and activate with Verizon 5G sim here in Honolulu HI. Verizon coverage map states my area and pretty much the entire island is covered for 5G nationwide.
I have full LTE+ showing on my phone but after tshoot with Verizon for the last few hours and driving around a couple miles..my indicator has not changed at all to 5G.
Am i interpreting the coverage map wrong when it says all of the island is on 5G nationwide, meaning to me, i should see the 5G network on my phone?
Since i unboxed this device yesterday, it only pulled down one update and nothing new is showing as far as software updates.
Powered off the device a few times along with a network reset and still no 5G..
So far I've found the 5G feature to be the most overhyped, most under developed feature I've seen that was this hyped up in a long while. For the most part at the moment, i find it that unless you're standing on a block containing a 5mm 5G cell tower, 5G as of right now is pretty sparse and mostly useless.

What you can do is use the *#272*<imei number>#
Choose the att csc and choose the option to only change the network code.
I tried this and got 5g for 1.1 sec. What exactly does this do?
You can also enable bands and DSS for verizon nationwide coverage through the service mode menus. I have a n20 ultra with U1 firmware on verizon csc with 5G working.

I attached screenshots of the menus I changed to enable 5G. The DSS menu enables 5G DSS, the LTE band menu enables all the LTE bands and the NR prune menu enables all the 5G bands. I would restore the VZW csc before making any changes. Changing the csc resets any service mode changes made manually. It will also work under any of the csc's selected, but then other things like wifi calling and visual voice-mail are configured for that carrier and don't work right. Also, carrier aggregation combos for lte and 5g produce slower data speeds if you have sales and network codes mismatched to the SIM thats being used.

Go into dialer settings #*#*4636*#*# phone info and make sure Nr is selected
AT&T doesn't have the OP9 as a certified phone on their network. There is no way around this, either. I've tried everything and even selecting NR doesn't yield 5G on the device. It has something to do with the bands AT&T users for 5G.

This right here. As a former AT&T employee (corporate office, not retail level), I can tell you that it is most likely that the handset does not use the same 5G bands as AT&T.
AT&T primarily uses the n260 band (39GHz mmWave) and the Global OnePlus 9 does not use that band. In fact, none of the models of OnePlus 9 use n260. Now, from what I understand, AT&T *does* provide low-band n5 service in some areas so it IS possible that some users may report having 5G service on their OP9, but it's purely because they're in a low-band n5 area and as soon as they move into a more populated area where it switches to n260Go to and see, their phone will drop back to LTE.
What I can tell you from my real world experience is that 5G is really nothing to write home about. I live in one of the largest markets in the US and 5G is really not any faster than LTE most of the time. In some cases, it's actually SLOWER.

The LE2115 OnePlus 9 has AT&T's low band and C-Band 5G bands, with no mmWave, the LE2125 9 Pro has all of AT&T's 5G bands yet AT&T does not want to whitelist it for 5G access on their network. Verizon certified it for their 5G (OnePlus 9, nationwide 5G, and you can use QPST to enable C-Band on the 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, nationwide 5G, you can use QPST to enable C-Band on the 9 Pro, and mmWave), why can't AT&T?
I circled the issue here. It's an exclamation point that on the signal bars. I have full signal but no internet connectivity. Look at what it says under internet (networks available) even though it says I have 5guc. The only thing that immediately clears this is clicking the tool and circle in the upper right corner.
I would get this issue on the pixel 6 pro alot more but it's still happening albeit alot less on the pixel 7 pro.
Anyone else getting this issue?
Never saw that on any phone. Seeing how you've experienced it on two different phones makes me think either you have a 3rd party app causing this OR it has something to do with your provider.

try changing your network from 5g to lte, see if it improves
I am starting to think this is a T-Mobile 5G SA problem. I have a Tello eSIM that uses T-Mobile and it works fine but when I used the T-Mobile Network Pass eSIM to try out T-Mobile postpaid, it was constantly dropping and was actually booting both my eSIMs from the network.
On my OnePlus 9, the Tello pSIM would drop data all the time if it connected to 5G SA but fortunately I could disable that in developer options. There is no such option on the Pixel and my Tello pSIM was doing the same thing when I first got the new phone. Converting my Tello pSIM to eSIM just seems to have disabled 5G SA entirely on it so I wasn't having the problem again until the T-Mobile eSIM.
This was the reason why i gave up on the P6 Pro a year ago!
It is less, but still have some times the issue! Connected to 5G, good signal, but no Data Connection, and after few Minutes i get the ! sign!
few minutes more, and the connection is coming back!
Provider A1 and Magenta in Austria!
Yes I have that on P7P. That and many other issues, calls start burbling after 8-10 minutes. I miss calls, in general the network is very slow.
Waiting for an update before returning it.
I believe this is a T-mobile issue. Where I live I get 5G UC around half the time compared with just 5G. There are a few spots where 5G UC shows connected however no data will pass. Same issue on my iPad Pro. At least I can turn off 5G UC on the iPad Pro. Can't find any setting where you can disable just the 5G UC.

On the P6P, I had ridiculous Signal and Battery issues - til I disabled 5G. Where it's strong, T-Mob 5G is great but where it's barely coming in, it's terrible. Even on the P7P, the first thing I did in Network was choose LTE as my preferred

In the first place we believed that the porblem was Hardware in Pixel 6, but I consume that's not Tensor's problem anymore. It might be, but the carriers with the 5G antenna upgrades don't help the situation.
Do you live in supported by Google country, or not?
As i can say, i had this issue the first time with the Note 10 + (Exynos) ... the Pixel 6 Pro was very bad with this issue, as i had to return it!
Now with the Pixel 7 Pro it started again, not that often as the P6P ... but still! And just on 5G!
Between with the S22U Snapdragon (S908E and S9080), also with the OnePlus and Sony etc ... i never had this issue!
so, i think it is a Exynos Modem Issue with few Provider Hardware

I can confidently say it's not a hardware issue, I get this one of the networks. I use dual sim one is esim with 5g connection which works perfectly, but the other one with a physical sim gives this as when it loses the network signal
Could it be a APN settings issue? I get this on my carrier if i don't set the proper APN settings.
I had this with EE in the UK on their Esim. Switched to Vodafone and haven't had the issue since
I do think when I used the phone before I gave it to my wife, that I saw the same things. And yes, I'm on T Mobile.

Yes, I'm in the US. It only seems to be a problem on T-Mobile and they're the only ones here that have a 5G standalone network (making things worse, they have it on both their 5G frequencies now so it happens every time that 5G connects). My Tello physical SIM that uses the T-Mobile network was doing the same thing until I converted it to eSIM and now it doesn't connect to the 5G SA network anymore (whether intentional or a bug is yet to be seen) and I've had no data drops.
For the record, I have heard this same complaint levied at iPhones.

I have no clue.
The problem with two Sims simultaneously is obvious mainly in unsupported carriers (the trick is to switch the one sim to only 2G).
Maybe the antennas are weak in this specific area so the call falls from to 2G and this might occurs the problem (?)
Same issues started on my One Plus 7T Pro. No 5g, LTE works perfect. No version of APN settings can get 5g back. It's definitely a 5g SA issue.
Could be: intentional, tmobile/Tello issue they are unaware of, or just something they are fixing.... for over a month now lol

Check your developer options for a 5G network mode one. If you have it, switch it to 5G NSA only. That fixed it on my OnePlus 9. Seems to be hit or miss which OnePlus devices have the option though.

No my rooted 7T Pro / Android 11 does not have this in developer option to switch between NSA and SA.
And I couldn't find any other way to mess with this setting unfortunately
With *#*#4636#*#* I can mess with a lot of antenna stuff, but still no NSA / SA option.
Everything I've read is that 5g NSA works and SA does not. Even though SA worked for years up until around early November from what I noticed

I wonder if they added that toggle in A12. I never looked for it when I was on 11.
I have successfully latched on to both Jio 5g and Airtel 5g using Network Signal Guru app (rooting required).
Below are the requirements.
1.
Jio sim with true 5g welcome offer and also proper 5g signals at your location (you can use speedtest.net application to know the 5g signals availability).
(OR)
AIRTEL SIM
2. Nsg app.
3. Open NSG and select respective sim and then go to Band Selection. Change the value from AUTOMATIC to NR/LTE
4. Restart
Update 1(9 Jan 2023) - Airtel has still not Whitelisted Pixel devices. So network reset(reset wifi , Bluetooth and network option in settings) is required everytime you restart your device.
Update 2 (15 Jan 2023) - Latest qpr2 beta(9 Jan 2023) build enabled 5g feature. So root is no more required.
Able to latch onto 3500Mhz at different location.
Working fine with Airtel 5g NSA as well.
Hello, I have Pixel 6a Jan updated, rooted with Jio 5G sim enabled 5G offer.
But even after following your instructions, phone refuses to connect to 5G.
@sampathkumar2811
The same sim shows 5G in iPhone 13 Pro Max at same location and speedtest gives 700-900 Mbps which means I am in a strong network area.

Two possibilities.
1. Signal not found.
2. Jio 5g welcome offer not activated.

When we select NR/LTE, it lists all LTE bands and I select LTE_ALL (NRBand:TBD)
Reboot
Still on LTE.
Basically forcing NR Only mode by dialing *#*#4636#*#* does absolutely nothing.
Indian Pixel 6a model number: GX7AS
Under Sim, my Operator settings version is dated 2022-08-13

4636 menu won't work anything for now.
Selecting NR combo within NSG only works and you have selected properly.
Contact me on telegram so that we can check further with screen recording.

I'm too having same operator version. No issues with that.
Hey, i got operator version updated to 08/12/2022, on QPR2 BETA 2 . As i have pixel 6 unable to connect 5g, but i got option in setting 5G/LTE/3G. So i think if you update 6a to Beta, 5g might work without root.

Mine connects to 5G as I have the 5G Trial offer activated on my number. However, the 5G signal is less than half and speedtest does not go over 64kbps. Like Jio throttling my device via IMEI block or my Pixel 6a is busted with internal antenna problem. So 5G is unusable on my 6a (USA model but model number is same as Indian)
4G reception is absolutely fine.

My telegram is blocked because I requested too many OTPs. lol
My friend's 6A also has this issue of not connecting to n78 band. His phone connected to only 700mhz and had pathetic speeds.
My sim isnt activated yet and is not working. For Airtel on Pixel 6 it connects to 5G outside home and the maximum speed I got was 200Mbps.

Same here on US Pixel 6a model no. GX7AS which is same model number sold in India.
I hope it's just a beta issue because I purchased this for just 20k from OLX.
I loved Pixel 6a for following 2 reasons:
1. Connects at 2400 Mbps on my home wifi and so I am able to max out of my full gigabit connection. All other expensive phones like iPhone, Samsung reach 500-600 Mbps on Wifi only.
2. USB-C with 3.1 speeds.
Lot of pixel 6 users reported that 5g is working fine. If you are getting 64kbps only then raise a issue with Jio. It must be the problem with them. Certain BTS/band of Jio is having issues because they are in beta. Don't compare with other mobiles and comment here at all.

Who is comparing with other models? I spoke with Jio engineer and according to their system my Pixel 6a should be working fine with latest beta. Unfortunately it isn’t. Only connects to n28 (700Mhz) band with -110dbm signal strength with barely any data speed. Speedtest fails but web pages open excruciating slow.
I am even unable to root the latest beta. The boot.img when patched with latest magisk and flashed using fastboot does nothing.
