Gaming rom - Xiaomi Poco X2 Questions & Answers

I want to ask which will be the best rom and kernel combination for my poco x2 for gaming specifically
Plss help

Everyone used to say that the best gaming rom is corvus os.But in poco x2,i had never felt that.I used Corvus os with Hardrock kernel for 2 months and came to know its so smooth while compared with miui 12.Then I tried evolution OS and it blows my mind.No any bugs where found yet, best gaming experience(felt better than corvus).UI is so smooth and gives maximum fps in PuBG.I just feel like using a midrange flagship UI like NORD.
.issues.
-No FPS analyser
-mic are so low capturing voices especially in whatsapp(fixed in latest update)
-Sometimes Quick charging wont work

What kind of bugs, I'm currently using it so do you mind pointing them out as this update is a lot smoother than the last one.
I know about the wired earphone bug already, but the maintainer deliberately added it (atleast that's what he told) cause people were continuously asking for higher volume levels, he released a fix for it an hour after releasing the build.

[Q] Suggest ROM

I need a smooth n with working features like camera , USB all option like tethring etc .N with high grafix..
i m noob so plz suggest me on this thank in advance n remaining after suggesion..!!!
Try cm9.1 build11 !!!
Most stable i think
What about MIUI?
If you prefer, you can use the MIUI rom with great interface, all basic features working. Build #5 by rohanchrome is great. It is overclocked at 800 mhz, so gaming is great too.

European Stock Rom is the best in terms of battery and stability as compared to any CM Rom. It's video recording is also nice. If you are looking for eye candy go with MIUI Roms but I've tried them n got fed up (Slow lockscreen, crashes, no app drawer kinda makes it an iPhone ) but European Stock is the best out there.
Yo !! Take this... CM 9.1 Nightly Build 11 - ICS by ayushrox.
It is by far high rated rom for HTC Explorer, because it has all things working with high stability.
Also, it is based on ICS and has the hardware acceleration.
So, it is pretty smooth. I use it.
My review :
Battery lasts 9 to 10 hour on moderate net usage and always on mobile data.
High graphics game such as Dead Trigger run pretty well.
Internal memory free and available to us is around 406mb.

well I placed the issue of Pandora in there so perhaps someone who uses the phone the same way could input on what they use and that its comparable to what I am looking for.
I would just dump rom after rom until I find something but time for me is super precious these next couple months.
A chart is great but remember Im not using a lot of the features the charts will describe.
Im only using it for google voice (to see my calls in the gym), pandora, play store, and play music, then some web browsing of course.
I actually turned off all the phone and data features to hopefully conserve battery life.

I just read it. I can try the slim rom. Im going to try installing devil kernel later first and see if it helps.
Still just hoping someone who is utilizing the same features I am can drop in and give their input. Not saying any rom is bad or better just looking to save some time, Im on the road a lot the next few months and the gym is my only real down time. Last night it was quite frustrating dealing with pandora.

The rom version you are using is partly to blame, newer isn't always better, go back to a previous version and install Devil.. the same for Slim, I wouldn't suggest passing 3.0 as of right now and Illusion has a couple issues, but it has serious speed...

Try Illusion 3/16 ( I made a bootable version, as the original had a flaw in the updater script, link is on the page) and flash the boot.img from your AOSP rom.. I was getting 5500's in antutu on stock speeds and 6500's overclocked, smooth scrolling and better battery life as well...
Don't try Devil with this rom as it breaks the playstore..
fastest of them all

I haven't tested Cyanfox since 2.02, it is a quick rom.. the site is down, gearing up for version 3, I wonder if our device will still be supported?.. C-rom is very fast with Devil kernel, (the initial release, the second release is slightly slower than the first) and has tested higher than any rom I've tried to date, even higher than when I tested Cyanfox.. If our device is supported in version 3, I hope the rotation bug is fixed..

What's the best rom right now for battery consumption ?

Hello everyone,
I'm still on my old OnePlus One and i'm currently having freeze and some issues with this old Sultan bacon rom from cyanogen (yeah, it's been a while tho).
So i'm searching for the best rom for this phone right now and i can't really decide so i told myself i should ask you folks !
My criteria are simple, i'm searching for a rom that is optimized for battery consumption and that is stable.
Also, i just saw a rom was created for Android Oreo, and i'm asking myself if it's really worth it to install a 8.+ rom or a 7.+ for the OPO.
I apologize if it's not in the right section,
Thanks in advance tho ! c:

I tried AOSiP, very stable but had some problem with battery life. Yesterday I flashed AOSPextended v4.5, first impressions are great stability and a better battery life, but I'll give you a better response after some more testing.
I think AOSPextended has no more support for Nougat (they are now releasing Oreo ROM) but I want to use Xposed...

Currently very busy with work, flashaholic activities are on hold for the moment. Will try out your rom later
Battery Optimized = Performance drop and Display Brightness Drop.
Best ROM overall is Lineage OS.
If you care about battery life Just Go to Settings-> Battery -> Current Profile -> Efficiency. You can also lower the Screen Brightens and you are done.
Don't bother with experimental Android 8 ROMs they are not ready yet for the average user.
Well thank you all for you advices, i'm looking at all the roms you recommended me
I'll check in details each specific characteristics !
and yeah frankzappatistas that's what i figured out by snooping all the current 8.0+ roms topic
Its not just about the ROM build, but how Google Play has a tendency to drain your battery with all the alarms & wake locks firing off. Jgcaap has a nice build that is smooth & with quite a few optimization on. Resurrection Remix ROM is still my goto build for its wakelock blocking (be careful with this though) used alongside Lightning Kernel & Naptime by Francisco Franco, you should get pretty decent battery life. DoTOS is very nippy in screen animation & runs apps quickly as well.
It is pretty friendly on battery life too .
Any of these three ROM are fantastic when coupled with a decent Kernel though. It just depends on your personal choice.

Discussion : Most stable oreo ROM right now

Even I was wondering this. Even the device is 2 years old, I am new to Moto. I need good recommendation for Oreo ROMs.
This is very subjective, and honestly right now i feel all oreo ROMs are at the same level of development. Bugs are common everywhere. The only ROM which can be told to be better than the rest is omni rom since it is the only rom with enforcing seLinux. Otherwise every ROM is at the same level. and it depends on user whether they like Lineage os or RR or XYZ
best , no one is best in custom rom it's depand on your what future you like or dislike so many rom are present for athene like los,rr,du,candy,pe,aex, crdroid etc all are best in his performance and future if you like more customization then go to rr and if you want to stock oreo exprince then definetly los is good and other also present and also smooth
Uhh.....I said your opinion based on your experience. I've heard these answers before man. Everyone says this. But I need you guys to tell me what you guys have been using and why it is good.
I think what CMK wants you to tell is which oreo rom are you guys using for athene and why

Now there's a question about stability and performance that I would like to adress specifically to the 32-bit users.
How would you compare them to 64-bit in terms of smoothness?
I am currently looking for an AOSiP replacement, but many ROMs have suddenly turned their heads to 32-bit, which on Oreo has only given me bad experiences, having tried AIM, Cosmic OS 32-bit, Candy and Omni without managing to even get past the setup wizard because of the lag. Actually, I used Omni in a while but it became so laggy that I could barely unlock the screen or open an app. On Candy ROM I managed to get to the homescreen after 30 minutes, but it was still unusable even after letting it sit for another 30 minutes. 64-bit though was always buttery smooth, but after a while would have RAM problems. So what were your experiences with 32-bit so far?

Opengapps 32 bit have some pet issues... Around in pico version! Has anyone tried nano version of it?
Also you can disable setup wizard of gapps but typing a command whole in twrp.. It had been mentioned in the aim rom thread! Use the search button, you'll get it.. And use that command to get rid of the setup..
About the lag, i am not sure if the live display is working now on oreo, however, you should turn it off as it causes a lot of lags.. In my personal usage i never found any 32 bit lagging..
I tried lineage, aim rom both.. They would have become better now, as i used them when they were absolutely new... I am sticking to invicta right now as my dad uses the phone now and also camera is still buggy on oreo!
Lineage is total stock and hence good performance... Ram availability.. Aim rom gives a very nice ui.. Along with good customizations.. i think we should stick to 32bit.. Right now.. 64bit still needs a bit of work! But that's just my opinion..

The ram management is better on low ram variants as already known, that's why some rom devs came up again with 32bit versions.
So, I flashed RR 32-bit as AOSiP became buggy, and I must say, I'm impressed. The ROM is as smooth in the 32-bit variant as it was in the 64-bit one, and the bugs are minimal. Wish I knew what the problem that causes lag on Omni is, that way I could use it as my mainly driver, since it's development moves at a faster rate, all thanks to @golden-guy. Really, if it wasn't for him, Oreo ROMs wouldn't be usable as daily drivers.

First, thanks for the kudos. In fact, there's a handful of good guys around here that do a superb job.
Before going OT here, I would like to understand what causes lags for you so that I can address them eventually. Can you come over and explain details in my ROM thread?
I tried Aim ROM and it was good, but there was issues of random power-off. RR also has issues of random reboot which was fixed by the L-Speed mod but that consumed a lot of battery. So I reverted to stock ROM now. Any advice related to Oreo ROMs guys?

Pubg Improvement

Hello Friends, I am creating this thread so that we will discuss with each other our mods, ROM and kernel version and any such settings to improve the performance of PUBG. You can all share your opinions here and apply to others settings. According to me, the best performance I have received at this time from corvus rom and lawrun kernel 11 B4.

Yup the main problem is with pubg new update but u can try lawrun kernel. This kernel is great in terms of performance
Yes really working bro thank you so much
I have tried almost all the custom ROMS and kernels. Mixed them with one another but at the end of the, I have stuck with the Official MIUI 11.0.6.0 with NoGravity Kernel. I even tried various versions of Seshtation but of no luck, it gives performance but too much of frame drops.
I will give a shot for Corvus ROM and Lawrun Kernel as OP says its working smoothly on his mobile.

MIUI 11.0.8 ruined it all. Pubg totally sucks. I'm getting around 30-40 fps in Smooth+Extreme and that too in the lobby of the very first match let alone the actual match. Been using it for 20 months now and never experienced my F1 crying this much in pubg. Used to easily get around 57-60 fps always and what actually funny is that I was one of those who thought that people whining about frame drops were whining for nothing because I never had those frame drop issues on my F1 and here we are, this new update 11.0.8 ruined it all.

First of all u need to unlock your boot loader and a custom recovery.
After that search on xda or google lawrun and open site. If u are on android pie then download pie version. There are two build of lawrun kernel, one is Sk(stock build) other is oc(over clocked). I prefer over clocked version. If u want more details and queries please join telegram group https://t.me/LawRunKernel

Try Aex rom+lawrun kernel. I get constant 60 fps even in custom rooms where 25-30 enemies in last circle and temp not increase more then 44.

I have stopped playing pubgm, no matter which ROM you use, whichever kernel you flash. The game freezes when there are too many players nearby or at close-combat. Horrible device to play a game like this. Also pubgm with every other update has been a pain in ass. Too big of a game and the same old pattern. Stop playing the game and try something else.
