Yes, 5G not working so far. But everything else working great, including carrier aggregation.
I didn't find any other issues with the phone - all is working great and as expected, the phone never heats up (mind you, I am not gaming). Battery life is not great though.

battery life is not great ? in compered to previous phones like note 10+ ? or to others ?
is it worth buying ? i am not a gamer too but i use youtube and whatsapp mainly and i am ording this because in my country they offer exynos 4 g at the same price
That website is Awesome. Apparently even the Korea N20U doesn't support 2G bands in Korea - not that difficult to believe, but still unlikely.

Yes, and I have seen other lists of frequencies that differ slightly so I'm not certain it's 100% accurate, but still fairly comprehensive and user-friendly, so useful as a general (if not necessarily definitive) guide.

Well I was using S8 before so cannot comment on later models but in comparison with S8 it is not very good so far. For the first time ever I had to enable battery optimisation and download AccuBattery.
Saying this it is definitely better than it was on day 1 though.
But on a good side the super fast charger that comes with it gives it enough juice in just 15 minutes.
Yes, it's definitely a good purchase if 5G is not your priority. I can't fault this device.
Not using WhatsApp much, but for Viber expect around 2-2.5 hours of video calling for full battery discharge.
Background processes do not consume much battery though.

I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but is there any way to enable VoLTE on the unlocked version, notably on the Rogers network in Canada?

Thanks but that's what I originally feared: there is no VoLTE option anywhere in there..? I had done a search too and nothing pops up.
Rummaging through the internet, I found an article saying the unlocked version (mine) would NOT have VoLTE. No sure how accurate that was.

Are you connected to Wind by any chance? I don't think that network has volte yet. I think Rogers purchased them.
No, I'm on Rogers and I can confirm I had VoLTE before on my Galaxy S7, so it's neither the network or my account the issue.

Very weird. Maybe ask your carrier to check provisioning for your device. What bands does your carrier use for VoLTE?
it should be supported bu carrier it self , not only the phone ! check with them !
Well after some investigating, I have an answer: Rogers only support VoLTE on Apple, LG and Samsung devices...
This is really unfortunate but it's one last thing missing from the Honor 8 to make it my daily driver. It's an excellent device and I was very impressed for the price tag, but not having wireless charging, VoLTE and 4k video made me realize how much I actually use it.
Thanks for the help guys!

Hello,
I haven't posted here in quite some time, but I picked up the Mi Mix 2s (Fantastic device), and the only thing that's missing to make this perfect for me, is the inclusion of Band 71 (600MHz). I've seen on multiple posts about Qualcomm phones having bands unlocked using QDXM and QPST tools. In other tutorials I see that they use an app to calculate the proper NV values, but I can't seem to find one that goes beyond Band 44. Does anyone know of a manual way to calculate this value, or another tool I could use?
Thank you much,
Blimey

I checked mine on my other rooted device. It looks like they removed the LTE Band Append option sometime between January and now. I sent the dev an email asking for more about this, I'll keep you posted.
If it turns out to be a paid feature, I think the price gouging is ridiculously too high. It's $50/week! But we'll see.

My F1 Global Version arrived this afternoon. I popped in my T-Mobile SIM and set the phone up. I've been using it for less than an hour.
Good News:
Voice works fine. I made multiple test calls with WiFi off. All sounded great.
Bad News:
So far I've not been able to get a data connection via 4G. It says I have service but pages won't open. I'll play around with it more.
Anyone else on T-Mobile in the US and able to get data?
EDIT: Data seems to be hit-miss. For the last 20 minutes data seems stable.
After about 10 hours of use, I can confirm that US T-Mobile users cannot get 4G on the F1. Even though it says it has an LTE connection.
Voice and 3G work fine. If you're planning to use this with data on T-Mobile, you might want to look elsewhere. I use mine mostly on WiFi so not a deal breaker for me.
I too am on T-Mo and live in Chicago. Voice sounds great. Same experience with data - the phone shows "4G" but I am getting 3G speeds. I've run Speedtest numerous ties, and I'm consistently getting 10 Mbps down, and a few up. Absolutely adequate for my needs (Spotify, email, etc.). In fact, Spotify runs so much faster than my previous phone, that it is a huge improvement for me. So, I've had the same experience, and for me, as well, 3G is not an issue.

My Speedtest results are attached. There's some variance, but about 10 Mbps down on 3G. Of note, the Wifi results are crazy, and easily 2x faster than my previously phone (LG V20) on the same exact network. In my experience, at both home and work, the Wifi on the F1 is ridiculously good.

I agree on the WiFi. I have FIOS gig service I'm getting 400 MB down and 450 up at home on WiFI. with the F1. Better than my S9+ or OnePlus 6
I'm very impressed by the F1. More so than I thought. Just waiting for my unlock code. I have not run into an app yet that has given me an issue. I'll be testing Android Auto later today when I get home. This is truly a nice phone at an amazing price. While no 4G is disappointing, I'm wondering if the band is there, just not turned on. Won't be the first time we have seen that.
Come on development!
Thanks for the follow-up. Also, although a little off topic, I'm interested in hearing about your experience with Android Auto. For me, "Ok Google" isn't currently working. I understand that's a Google issue, not a problem with the F1 (I hope). Haven't been able to text in the car, like I usually do, so I'm anxiously awaiting a fix for that!
My pocophone will not connect to T-Mobile. I have the correct APN settings and it does not connect. I'm surprised you guys are seeing connectivity. I'm in the new york area

T-Mobile has Band 5 in limited markets (which F1 includes). 2, 4, and 12 are prevalent in NY. My current phone has B5 and I've never seen it connect to that band personally.
As for OP. 4G is probably HSPA (3G) but that's very slow. Can you use Network Signal Guru to confirm signal type?

Reasonable question man, those replies suck. It has the same modem as the iPhone 13, it's a Snapdragon X65 5G so technically you should be able to. If not in NV, you could in software programming tool of Qualcomm, might have to be the newest software though. If you could identify the modem chip number in a teardown video possibly we could find the product model number and see if it's a hardware limited or base chip limited by firmware.
That makes sense. Back in the day, I had a Zuk Z2 Pro and it worked but haven't had a phone with a snapdragon since.
Thanks Jdorman12 for replying with actual words, not a single emoji

Google hasn't offered any info yet, there is just the leak/romour that the P7 Pro will use a new/unannounced Samsung Exynos 5300 modem.
According to
First details of Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro come roaring out: 2nd-gen Tensor, new Samsung modem
9to5Google has uncovered concrete details of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, including the devices’ codenames, Tensor chip, and Samsung modem.
9to5google.com
"GS201 chip will feature a – currently unreleased – Samsung modem with the model number “g5300b.” For comparison, the Pixel 6 lists its modem as “g5123b,” which is the Exynos Modem 5123. Given the model number, we believe Google’s second-generation Tensor chip will have the Exynos Modem 5300"

Since Google doesn't offer any info on their website about the modem, we'll probably have to wait for a teardown/review where the modem either gets read out in software, or someone takes the phone apart and can tell us what's inside.

The confirmation is great, but that means little since it's an unannounced modem, and we don't have any specs and there are no other phones using that modem to compare it to.
I took a chance that the P7 modem will perform better than my P6 which I am going to trade in.

Thx god I read that! Thats the reason why I don't buy a Samsung device here.

The old modems are not that bad but S21 was really bad and 6 and 6 Pro one of the worst.

So shut off 5G then. It's a battery hog and not needed for 95%+ of us anyway.
To be clear, it's not just Samsung modems that suck with 5G. My Qualcomm X60 in my OnePlus 9 has 5G disabled because of battery drain, data stall, and heat issues as well.
Well, we know it has a "Samsung Exynos Modem 5300g" whatever that means. It's the next rev of the same modem from last year. After the latest updates the 5100 modem was working ok, although 5G battery life was atrocious (which is on par of this 2019ish chipset).
Hopefully the Samsung modem team has improved 5G battery and at least you'll have a working modem that while it's not state of the art, people can't complain too much.

I use only LTE the last few years cuz we got 5G over DSS which is 4G.
The Pixel 6 Pro has the worst connectivity and reception of any phone I've used
The Pixel 6 Pro has connectivity issues. It goes offline very frequently and doesn't reconnect as quickly as it should, unlike other phones.

Maybe you wanna read a lil bit
Here we go again
Phone won't stay connected to mobile data for more than a few minutes before disconnecting.
I just got my 7 Pro all set up a couple hours ago. I'm using Straight Talk with a Verizon SIM and I'm having serious mobile network connection issues. It will connect to 5G/LTE for a few minutes, then it will just disconnect and tell me I don't...
forum.xda-developers.com
So I just got my 7 Pro and I checked my signal strength compared to my 6 Pro with the same sim card in the same spot. What I can say is this. The 7 seems to have a much more stable connection. I watched the signal strength for about a minute and I saw the 6 bounce around from -107 to -112 dBm. The 7 consistently stayed at -107dBm. Can't really tell if there's any difference in real world usage yet but these are the findings I have so far.
So its not that bad which is still bad :/
