Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will be the first batch Xiaomi devices to receive the update of Android 11. Android 11 comes with a series of improvements, especially in managing conversations and device controls. Combined with a series of smart features that come with MIUI 12, this update is fully optimized for effortless conversation management and seamless smart device control.
Conversations:
Android 11 enables users to manage their conversations across multiple messaging apps at one place in the notification shade . New functions allow users to respond to messages right from the drop down notifications section. The OS update also allows users to organize conversations according to their priority. Prior conversations can be shown on the lock screen and can “break through” the Do Not Disturb setting.
Bubbles:
Bubbles in Android 11 will float on top of other apps and be accessible for users in different situations. Bubbles can be expanded to reveal full app functions and can be collapsed when not used. It is a useful tool that allows users to better multitask and never miss important messages.
Device Controls:
The phone turns into a “digital wallet and keys” offering a one touch path to controlling users’ connected smart devices without the need to open additional apps. With faster and easier access to their smart devices, users can enjoy smoother and more elegant media switching as well as experience wireless Android Auto functions on their phones. To use Device Controls, visit “Settings” and then go to “Display”, tap on “Control center & Notification shade” and enable “Use new Control center”. Users can add apps to the “Smart Home” section in the Control center and manage connected devices directly.
Xiaomi closely follows Android’s major releases and updates its devices. Catering to users’ expectations, Android 11 is now made available on Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Global ROMs for developers and users to have an early glimpse of its smart features. It says it's compatible with Android 4+, apparently that doesn't include Marshmallow. I see that the target SDK is 20 which is Android Wear (4.4W).
I can't decide if this app wants to be an OS or a launcher, which it seems neither. My curiosity is piqued. I'll hold off on a Play Store review for now until I receive some feedback.
Nox App Player is an Android emulator first released in August 2015, and within half years’ time, it has updated several versions and advanced a lot compared to the original beta version. Some of its basic core features include:
- Developed on Android 4.4.2 kernel
- Google Play store integrated
- Better compatibility with AMD processors
- Customize CPU/RAM occupation and resolution
- Support input/output devices, gamepad and controller
- Superuser built in
- Run multiple Android instances simultaneously with ease
And compared to these, we could find the below difference in the latest 3.1 version which was released in January 2016:
- Preloaded a Facebook Lite version that is compatible with Nox App Player
- Removed Nova Launcher and the app drawer, using Nox own launcher now, all newly installed games/apps will be displayed on the main screen directly

- New macro recording feature. Macro recording will enable automatic repetition of some tedious work in a game.
- There’s a reboot Android shortcut on the sidebar. You could reboot the Android kernel without closing and restart Nox
- There’s also a controller management panel shortcut on the sidebar from where you could connect and manage the controller/gamepad connection with Nox
- Redesign of the layout of Nox System Settings: more organized and more options to explore
Overall, 3.1 version has some superb new features and improved UI. Although the in-built Play Store sometimes give mis-judgement of app/game compatibility, but luckily we could still download the apk and drag it into Nox to install.
