I set-up push mail with Gmail a couple days ago and then the Inbox showed up in the Mail tab of TouchFlo. But after I connected it to my computer to sync the contacts and calender the Inbox has disappered.
The notifications show up when I get mail but it is very annoying to get into the inbox since I have to goto the SMS/MMS inbox and then goto Outlook Mail from there.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
hasn't anybody had this problem before?
i have auto sync turned on for gmail, exchange email/calendar/contacts, and facebook. my battery life is so so right now but until i can get a second power adapter and cable...im having to look into ways of increasing battery life.
i would prefer to have my exchange calendar and contacts sync automatically, but i'd rather not have my email coming to my tablet all the time as i can just manually sync when i open the email app. so heres my ideal situation:
1. connected to wifi
2. auto sync calendar and contacts
3. manual sync of gmail and exchange email
i've set both gmail and exchange email to "never" sync but that doesnt seem to be applying as i still get emails automatically. ive turned off auto sync in the settings but i still get emails automatically! anyone else have this problem?
I keep getting notifications popping up from the mail app saying I have new unread emails, I have auto sync turned off and I can't find any settings to stop it in the mail app (note not GMail app I have that deleted)
Thanks.
I'm running CM7 on an Evo 4G.
I'm having the same issue. Have you or anyone else figured out how to stop this from happening? My corporate email (exchange server with stock email app) always syncs even when I uncheck Auto-sync in Settings>Accounts & sync>Auto-Sync.
The only way I can stop the account from syncing is to change the "Inbox check frequency" from "Automatic (Push)" to "None".
I'm hoping to figure out how to make this app respect the phones syncing settings and not sync when I uncheck the Auto-sync box.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The only options I have when adding gmail in the email app to sync is push only. I dont use the gmail app because of this. There is no option for syncing in timed intervals. Am I missing something.
I have two email accounts set up on my phone ..my gmail and an exchange account. For the exchange account I only sync email. For gmail I sync everything. If I check my battery stats, email is using over 50% after about hours. If I check under accounts and sync my exchange account hallways show the any icon as if it never stops syncing (I have it set to push) does anyone have any clue as to why this might happen?perhaps there is some setting in my outlook email that needs to be changed Idk but its irritating because my battery life is pretty short as it is. Thanks

I think most apps in android that stay on "Always connected" use a lot of battery.. When I got my phone , i had go chat , facebook watsapp and e-mail sync turned on... my battery would drain within 1 day with minimal usage... After turning off e-mail sync and go chat , the phone lasts 2 days with decent usage... so i guess u should set to sync every hour or something like that..
Just go to settings > account settings >turn off auto sync on gmail
This helps me improve my phone's battery life. Don't worry not getting your emails because once you open your gmail that's the only time that it will sync. The only downside of this is there won't be any email notifications if you have a new email. To check if there is mail you always need to open gmail and check.
