Volume Down mapping impacts volume up - MTCD Android Head Units Q&A

I have a Honda CR-V and the five buttons on the steering wheel are properly received on my HU. Problem is, no matter what I assign to volume up, it will act the same as the volume down button. I cannot figure out why this is happening. I could understand if pressing volume up was being received as a volume down message, but that is not what is happening. Volume up is definitely received. But no matter what I set it to, it will just become a second volume down button.
Thoughts?

For which variant of headunit, MTCB, MTCD/E/P or other?

MTCD. Dasaita PX6

Jawbone volume adjust

I just got a Jawbone, I'm listening to the radio through it and can't turn the volume up. I know that the back button is suppose to be the volume adjust but it doesn't seem to do anything. Is this a common problem, is there a trick, or can the volume only be adjusted during calls? Figured I'd ask before I assume the headset is bad.

[Q] Headphone volume controls

So i have an old pair of headphones from my s3. the play/pause button works fine with the M8, but the volume up/down buttons only skip tracks and not change the volume. i can skip tracks with double/triple pressing the play button. would really like to see something control the media volume with my headphone buttons.
im sure it is... but the xda post i found for it doesn't address what i posted about.

I even purchased the oem headphones on HTC's site that says compatible with M8, still no dice. Hopefully there will be a fix soon.
i have the ones that came with the M8 and i noticed only one button. i just dont get why they need to go in their own direction and remove buttons instead of comply with the current accessories and just add the features. i run with my phone in an armband so a one button remote has limited usefulness.
I am in the exact same boat...When I work out the phone is an athletic armband so I don't really have access to it during my workout. I use these headphones: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005I2IVRO/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I can play/pause by pressing the middle button once and skip tracks forward by double tapping the middle. However, the volume up and volume down buttons are do not function period. Very annoying and hoping there's an Xposed module or an app that can make them work.

Hold Vol+ or - to change track?

I am using the steering wheel controls on my intel based Joying unit. I have a Vol+, Vol-, and Mute button on my steering wheel. These are working well, but it would be GREAT if I could program it to change track if I hold the button down for a few seconds. I remember this being an option on the hardware keys on my Android phone, and was hoping we could set that up on our car stereos.
Any thing out there that'll do that?
Is your HU a Joying MCTD?
If yes, you can set different actions for "short press" and "long press" of all swc buttons
Thanks for the response! My HU is a Joying but it's the new Intel unit with Android 5, so I think it's a bit different. I don't see any option for short or long press on the "Steering" app that sets up the buttons.
You read my mind, I was asking myself this question!
I wonder if there's any similar on the intel joying units

Mine is not Joying but has many similarities with Joying and its using Intel Sofia processor.
Like mention previously, In factory setting there is a setting for press & long press button.
Even though its for on screen button, I think it worth to try for steering wheel control.
FYI, password for factory setting menu for my unit is "m123456".

Remapping volume knob

Hello!
I have a PX6 MTCE with a DSP that broke down. I finally got a new motherboard from the chinese seller and moved everything over to the new hardware. The new motherboard differs from the original one. The biggest difference is that they didn't send me one with a DSP.
The new setup is working. I had to remap the hardware buttons for NAV, BAND etc but found that easy to do in the settings. My only problem now is the left rotary encoder. It is working as "skipping" at the moment, i.e changing position in my song or podcast. The right knob works for volume. I want to have the left knob for volume and pressing the knob for power on/off.
How can I remap this?
My unit is rooted
Best regards,
/David

Almost solved it myself. The solution was to install MTCD_Tools. With this app, I was able to figure out that I had to remap key code 299->281 and 300->273 With this info I found a way to remap in the settings of the Hal9k Mod firmware.
I still don't know how to remap long press on the volume knob to power on/off. I have the code for power on/off, but I don't know the current code for long press. I.e. Nothing shows up in MTCD_tools when I press the button at the moment.

Steering buttons swapped

I’ve got a PX6 12.1 screen for my ranger but the steering wheel buttons have been playing up with the volume down putting volume up and volume up skipping track it would sometimes be fine other times play now it’s permanently swapped to the buttons are doing the wrong thing. It’s had a new canbus module and no difference. Does it sound like a hardware fault? Are there any other setting that I can check. I’ve tried reprogramming the buttons in the steering settings but my unit doesn’t support that.
