LG G5 Android 9.0 Pie porting from LG V20 ? to run GCAM 7.2 - LG G5 ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Developme

Lg g5 and v20 are almost identical, but V20 already run android 9.0 pie
Is there a chance to port V20 Firmware to G5 ? This is for one reason : to run GCAM 7.2 from URNYX
Here are specs, Left LG G5 and Right LG V20

Well it's possible I haven't really looked into it but since they have many similar components it can be done. I'll look into it.

Thank you ! if Lg g5 will get 9 pie... then a lot of users will be happy !

There are already android 9 & 10 roms available, i think the camera app should work on there as well.
But a v20 rom port would be nice.
Astrako ported the v20 oreo rom a while ago, so you'd think that a pie port would be possible too.

There are.. Lineage os, but.. Gcam not work, crash.. and have other bugs, I prefere original firmware form LG, with Android 9, I think it will be another story,

Android O Comming to LG Q6..?

LG Q6 is was launched along with competitors such as MI A1 , Nokia 6 etc.. which promise to get Updated to Android P.
Q2 2018 is comming ,Google has released Android P Dev Preview 1
But i still dont get about the Software Updates On LG Q6.
LG is releasing Security updates once in 2 (or) 3months but there is no word for the next android version.
Will Android O come to our LG Q6 (or) Have the chance to get it ..?
If anybody has any info regarding this then please share to this thread
No news for Q6, as far as I know LG confirmed update for G5, G6, V20 & V30, that's it.

It would be a tremendous failure if Oreo did not appear in the LG Q6!
The serious thing is not that it has not appeared yet, it is that we do not know with certainty if it will appear or not.
Yes , for the same range Oreo is started to roll out or will be ,also moto g4 line is getting oreo which is 2yrs old!
Thats one of the reason why LG is Suffering in Smartphone department.
My first LG phone was G2 which worked flawlessly till 2years which got updated from Jellybean to Lollipop.
Expecting the same for Q6, Hope LG will do something by seeing competitors like Xiaomi , Moto , Nokia and all....
There is a confirmation from LG Mexico, in which it states that Oreo will be available for LG Q6 approximately during the month of May.

check lg bridge cause Oreo is indeed available. I have Oreo on my lg q6 m703 and 2 months before Oreos release my phone was 2 updates behind and wouldn't update the latest software so I used lg bridge on Windows and it worked.
