Hi, I have a LG 42lb671v-ZB smart tv to which I replaced the motherboard with one from China. I realized that the OS used is Android 4.2.2. How can I install WebOS in Italian? Could anyone help me?

Hi! Ohh.. I have got the same issue. Someone help please. I think this main board arrived with the GA7900 Google TV firmware. But it has only two languages, and so many functions missed. OTA update not available yet. How we could change the OS? Or how coluld we update this Android version via USB? It main board is the same like my original WebOS main board.

no it's not the same, you bought it from some Chinese seller. It's a Chinese knock off board with Chinese knock off firmware. If you want original firmware, you need original hardware.

Hello XDA,
I am still very confused about google's aleged new release of android 4.4, 5?
Earlier this year, I thought that common knowledge was google would release a huge update named Key Lime Pie, version 5.0. Now we know it's android Kit Kat (........), and according to some pics and videos, it is version 4.4? Why would google not make it 5.0? Are they planning something new for android 5? It looks like (according to these leaked pics) that they are going for a very new UI, which I think would constitute a new version of android.
Here are the pics I was referring to:

(see the 4.4 android version)
I don't know if those pics are fake, they very well could be.
Thanks for the help!

What do you mean by this?
i was also under the impression that it was to be version 5.0
not sure where 4.4 came from
could you provide a link of where u got these images?
im sure kit kat is just a preview of what's to come like jellybean 4.1 to 4.2 and 4.3, it gives the community a better way to develop more options..
I think we feed into the version numbers a little to much... I believe following the nicknames is a better indicator that something is going to be different about the next update, or at least a bigger change... When we get to 5.0, there might be a big UI change...

Hey guys, I am really unsure where to ask or even if this is the forum to go to, but I've came across a few of these Chinese headunits online and they seem to be priced so well that I'd like to play around with it.
Example,
http://m.tomtop.com/7-inch-universa...-with-rear-view-camera-k3839.html?aid=CRM0223
This is a 7" double din unit that I'd like to see if it's possible to install some other kind of operating system other then what's preloaded on this.
A fellow forum member has purchased it and it looks like a decent unit that will match our older (2003) volkswagens interior.

Does anybody know if it's possible to load up a different OS/Android onto these units? This one specifically is sold as Model 7018B
Thanks

Hi
Thanks for using XDA Assist.
Check out the > Android Auto > Android Head Units forum.
That should be the best place to discuss this sort of thing.
Are there any custom ROMs for the Intel Sofia (sofia3gr) head units around? I saw the stock rom collection thread/repository but those are all just stock, nobody else building/cooking ROMs for these units?
Thanks in advance!

I'm interested too but seems that our choice to buy a Sofia unit is not the best! Seems that now PX3 and mainly PX5 units are invading the universe of Android Car Units. The only discussion I found about our SOM is here (https://forum.carjoying.com/thread-1377-current-state-of-hackishness-.html) but is too early to have something running...
The strange thing is that our SOM Sofia3GR has quite the same capability as PX5, probably the people did not trust it was so powerful ...
I'm also interested, even in finding stock ROM's, I've only found 2 older ones so far.
Thanks, yes I found that too. Perhaps I should dust off my android kitchen and get back up to speed with it! (Only been about 5yrs since I've looked!)
I've currently got the 'latest' downloading from my supplier, this is sofia_6.0_20170915.zip so I'll get that downloaded (818Mb and from a Chinese download server running terribly slow...14hrs remaining) and then take a look at the contents of the rom image, see what version that presents to us.
As promised, this is a download from my head unit supplier (Hizpo) and this is for 6.0_sofia_6.0_wifi(20170915).zip
https://we.tl/kfJTMonive
This was supplied for MTCD_XRC sofia3gr_car_64
Give a any news for Root on Intel Sofia?
I'm trying to find a download for the broken link above, the HIZPO Sofia 6.0. Any help would be appreciated, thanks
I'm in the process of getting an Android head unit and I've come across Ownice K series. Specs are similar, but the K3 has PX6 CPU and Android 10 and K6 has a SC9853 CPU but only Android 8.1. The latter also has a 4G slot, but I guess I could do without (I'll just buy a 4G hotspot dongle and use the wireless on the head unit).
However, I am more interested in a more recent Android and the possibility of future upgrades, root and custom ROMs.

The SC9853 is bug ridden, more so than MTCD/E, where the developers ostensibly ported MTC code to it.
The SC9853 is big ridden

Do you want an obscure unit with more bugs or a well known, much develop/posted MTCx .
Perhaps you're not aware that the sc is NOT an MTCx?

I'm new to head units, only read a few threads here so I'm not that familiar with which is which.
Perhaps request the thread moved to the Android Head Units thread, which is open to all variants.

There are Russian websites that have obscure firmware for cloned devices. Use a translator and post in those forums to get help finding a firmware that will work or can be made to work on your device. Cloned devices don't really have true support here at XDA, most users here focus on flagship and upper tier mid ranged devices.
There may also be a way for you to install a Linux or Ubuntu OS on the device to replace the stock firmware.
You need to see about opening the device to verify what motherboard and CPU series it actually has because you can't always trust that the installed software is showing the correct information.
@manlgonzlz92 hello OP, I have removed your first picture as it contains your device IMEI.
You can read further: https://security.stackexchange.com/...k-of-leaking-imei-imsi-numbers-over-a-network
I am also looking for a firmware that can be used with this model, as the device is relatively ok build but the original firmware is full of bugs
