Hi,

Hi All,
I have a few question and would be graeful if somebody can clear them for me.
1)The unofficial flashtool available requires drives and it seems there are no drivers or plugins available for flashing the Xperia E, can somebody guide me on how do i get the flashtool to work correctly?
2)EMMA the official flash tool of sony requires a login id and password, i have tried registering many times with different emals but i never get the confirmation mail sent...any idea why this is happening
3)Where can I find the stock roms? Sonydeveloper site has very few availabl
Drivers for e? Are you able to install adb 1st? And s1boot flashmode drivers? Use universal adb first, then use pdanet. Flashmode will not install on xp, it just hangs there.
E stock? Better to search google. Sony dev have less firmware to choose. Or find a way to backup your phone firmware into .ftf.

Hello everyone!
I'm wondering if it's possible to debrand my xperia and install an original Sony firmware just changing my costumization number in the build.prop file and connect the phone to PC companion and make a repair installation.
Everything with bootloader locked and phone rooted.
Finally using this guide step one and two http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-l/general/guide-download-firmware-customization-t2355982
Is it possible? Can anyone confirm that? Or twill there be some problems?
Thanks a lot!!

i dont know if repair via pcc can solve this kind of problem, but i can say the simplier way to do that is flashing fw ftf via flashtool without any build.prop editing because after this youll get fresh fw without any bugs but you can try the way you mentioned here, it cant harm your phone.
repair is not 100% solution

You can use SUS to 'update' your firmware, however it's more easy and simple by just flashing an FTF file which can be found here
Flashable FTF's

I'm from Italy but I don't find an italian FTF file there. Where can I download it? Or which file should I use?
PS what is SUS?

You can/should use the worldwide FTF file mentioned in the reply above.
I'm from the Netherlands myself and most of West-Europe should simply use the worldwide file.
EDIT
About SUS, it stands for Sony Update Service, it's just like PC Companion but only the updating & repair of Xperia devices. It has no programs to transer files etc.

I have two last question:
From the guide I see I have to put my phone in Flash mode. Is it possible without unlocking my bootloader?
I have my phone rooted. If I flash a firmware with FTF will I lost my root?

1. You don't need to unlock your bootloader to flash FTF files
2. Yes, you'll need to root your phone again
I've flashed EuropeCE firmware via flashtool and Vodafone branding disapeared from my phone, along with a bunch of bloatware.
I bought xperia z5
Customization: 1298-1221_R8B (T-mobile branding)
and I would like to install generic firmware from SONY (for example Central Europe customized :1298-7654)
Will it be possible?
I have also a problem with xperifirm. I cannot download any firmware..I double click and nothing happens.
Please help
Thank you,

Yes it is possible. I even flashed E6603 firmware on the E6653 and back to E6653 without issues in operation or connectivity. Also, Xperifirm is working fine here, downloads and all.
do you still have to delete the fwinfo.xml after xperifirm compiles the files prior to flashing with flashtool?

I bundle the files with flashtool so I can't answer that question.
And by installing another firmware, it will void the warranty?
No

If this is really working like you don't loose DRM-Keys and the Bootloader doesn't need to be unlocked.
Why aren't we using this way to get Root into a unlocked Z5? It kinda seems like this is the easiest way in...

Well i do understand it in this way: having Full rights using the SuperSu APK-file with other binarys which are included in the rom.
And Since the ftf-file is the image for the nand of the Xperia Z5 i thougt you can create a ftf file which is prerooted....
:Edit:
And there is the answer for my question...
tl;dr - we can - if we have Sonys private Keys for resigning the system.sin
:Edit:
Tried it to flash Customized CCE1 32.0.A.4.11 for my E6653 and it somehow hang up while flashing TA Partition 1 since then when i try to restart the flashing i get Errors while Processing loader.sin and the Flash aborts with error 7 in processHeader....
i let the flashtool built the ftf file so yeah...
Edit2: Well Sony PC Companion seems to get the Z5 back to life via recovery
Hi,
I'have tried to manual update my D6603 Xperia Z3 to the latest firmware 23.1.A.1.232 (from 23.1.A.1.200) which is StageFright free.
I downloaded the FTF from XperiaFirm and than I flashed it using flashtool, no errors displayed. The phone now is in bootloop, stuck in boot animation.
My phone was unlocked and not rooted
Please, help

You didn't have to use flashtool. Use PC Companion. Sony's tool does the update for you.

Ok, I know, but my purpose was to change form Customized-ES to Custominzed-IT.
Once done that I would have downgraded my phone to Kitkat in order to root it.
Some minutes ago I managed to run 23.4.A.1.232 on my D6603 but I have some compatibility issues, preinstalled GAPPS don't run and the screen back illumination never turn off. I really don't know whats going on on that phone...
Now I'm using sony companion tool to repair the phone, if all goes right and I'm not going back to Customised-ES later I'll try to root it.
Basically all of this was a trial to understand if a was able to root it.

Hello XDA Dev community!
I'm new and I have heard good reviews about this site. I hope you could help me with my problem. I managed to buy an Xperia XZ So-01J model locked to NTT Docomo then got it unlocked thru a code. I need to flash it to a generic stock rom but I keep getting the partition.sin error and soft bricking my device in the process. If I tick partition.sin in the "exclude" category, a new error comes up again from the .sin files. Am I missing something here? I'm new to the whole Xperia game but I got a little knowledge about it epecially with Flashtool. I used to be a Samsung user and have never encountered something like this flashing roms using odin and a custom recovery.
model: Sony Xperia XZ SO-01J

Answers are highly appreciated! Thank you

Welcome dear.
Use 0.9.23.2 if possible. Put off the signature verification in window. Turn off antivirus. Dont plug any other device in usb port.
Installed drivers from driver folder of flashtool.

Yes it's looking that. I also search for your probpem nut nothing is found. Can your model fall in f8331 aur f8332 category. Otherwise contact with androplus, a great developer in xperia software.

If it's f8331 then just install boot image from androplus through fastboot and then install recovery through fastboot and install custom rom.
Responses are still very much appreciated. I still have hope the SO-01J can be flashed with a generic ROM.

Hi!

Who can help me?
:crying: I m haven the same condition with you. Who can help me? Asking for help.i used all the flashtool, but it still dont ok.
I have the same condition with you.I do it yesterday.you should use 0.9.23.2.Flashtool flash so 01j .ftf. Yesterday i went to japanese NTT'S Home net to download it.
Did you flash the international ROM? Or still use Docomo 6.0.1?
same problem here , i try to flash 41.3.A.2.24 AU on my Sony Xperia XZ SO-01J but it always appear error at all sin files start from partition.sin
anyone have solve this problem?
AFAIK you cannot flash that file to that device.
you can't flash other rom into this phone, it only accept docomo rom. the bootloader is locked and it's not unlockable (as far as I know unless docomo allows it or someone managed to find a way). so I did the next best thing, by removing some of the docomo apps through adb. I also removed some Sony apps like Xperia Tips and Whats New and a few others (facebook etc). battery life has been better since less things running in the background now, free RAM is around 1gb though I don't play games at all.
