Samsung Premium - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

FYI if you're interested in the Samsung Premium care, purchase it at the time you are buying the phone! I purchased my Ultra and my wife's Note 10 at the same time and forgot to order Premium. So I figured once they arrived I'd just purchase it then, but to my surprise Samsung isn't offering it after purchase on the Ultra, I was able to buy it for my wife's Note 10. When I asked the CS guy he says he doesn't know why, but Samsung just changed the rules, only for the Ultra. ??.

If it makes you feel better, I did request it for my son's device at purchase and the rep told me a couple days ago that it shows as cancelled. Like wtf guys? I get I can't add it to mine now, but why was my son's coverage cancelled??

That's crazy, I will definitely keep an eye out for any cancelation with her phone.

The rep I tried to sign up with caught it, not even me. They had to open a ticket to find out why it was cancelled. They haven't responded yet, but he also mentioned they made a change to the policy as far as the note 20 was concerned.

Change insurance deal?

I got my phone insurance through best buy ssome days ago. My phone is still perfect and new but now I realized I really want Verizon insurance instead. Is there any way I can change that? Maybe bring in the phone so they know nothing is wrong whatsoever just a bad decision I made?

I don't think you're contractually bound to Best Buy's insurance agreement, are you? As far as I remember, when I had it and had it voided by rooting my phone, I just called and cancelled it.
Just out of curiosity, what makes Verizon insurance better than Best Buy's?

If I lose my phone Verizon will replace it. Bestbuy won't take phones that are "drowned" and yes I know about cancelling I voided my warranty that way too but they don't know. I just wanna have peace of mind knowing if I get robbed Verizon will at least replace my phone

By "drowned" I'm assuming you mean water damage. And if so, the Best Buy rep told me that if I chucked my phone into a pool and brought it in, they would replace it. That was about 2 years ago, so I don't know if that policy changed since then. Then again, I don't know if what the Best Buy rep said was true since I never needed to test him on it.
I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other. I just thought Best Buy did cover water damage is all.
Google has a lot of posts on people misinformed by bestbuy reps

Yes, you are within your return window. Call and cancel your insurance with Bestbuy and take the phone into Verizon and have them activate insurance on your account. Considering I've worked for 3 wireless companies (including Verizon) as a sales rep in the past 5 years, you can take my word on it.
Also, if you root your phone, don't call any cancel like some idiot said he did here. If your phone breaks, drowns, or just quits working, then they will have no way of knowing. Most don't care anyways, because half of the reps root their phones too. Still to be safe, if problems occur, and the phone is still working (software, minor quality control issues), just simply unroot before taking the phone into the store.

Hi, I'm the "idiot" that called and cancelled due to having a rooted phone. I have to admit that if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn't have cancelled but being a paranoid noob at the time, I didn't know any better since so many people were telling me that rooting could easily be traced back. I know that's not true now. Normally, I would take offense to someone calling me an idiot but that was an idiotic move I made 2 years ago. And just so we're clear, I was never suggesting to the op to do what I did; I was just making a point about how I cancelled my Best Buy insurance.

Just ordered Note 5. Question.

I just ordered the Note 5 taking advantage of the $100 discount. I currently have a Note 3 and was wondering if I could get any money or credit for it by trading it in to Verizon. I also heard some people got credit or something from Samsung after buying the Note 5. I just can't find the thread anymore. Anybody know of any credit I can get with my Note 3 from Verizon or Samsung? Thanks.

I know VZW had a promo going a couple of months ago where you were guaranteed trade-in credit for the Note5--but that's ended for some time now. You should be able to look up the trade-in value for your phone on the VZW site before going in-store.

They finally have the gold one, but they aren't letting switch it out unless I buy a new phone or upgrade another line. Sorry this didn't have anything to do with anything. Just a rant.

I upgraded and bought my note 5 the same way 2 weeks ago. Online with promo code to get $100 off the phone. Before i did, i went to nearby verizon store and said i could get $300 credit if I were to trade in my note 3. But they said up to, if in above good or mint condition, depending on condition of your phone and manager descrition. Hope you enjoy your note 5

I went from a Note 3 to 5 also and did get an offer from Verizon. The offer said up to $200 back. When I clicked on the link and filed out the form their website it told me they would give me $19.84 for the Note 3. Decided to just sell it on ebay with all the related accessories - I'll do that and get around $200 instead...

Hey man the website price isn't correct. They should text you a promo code about a week after purchase. I traded in a galaxy nexus that was worth $1 when I entered it on the site, but then I entered the promo code and it jumped to $200.

Just checked Samsung site. My card is not compatible with Samsung Pay (I already knew that) and I can't find any offers related to buying a new phone. Is that something you need to do before buying? I'd love to get something out of buying the phone if I can ?

You did not say where you ordered your phone. It seems like the offers are always changing. I was able to get the best deal through Best Buy back in December. I got Best Buy $100 discount as well as $ off by financing through the Verizon plan of the day. I was planning to buy it out right. But it worked out to be cheaper to add it to there program. I had unlimited and they weren't about to let me keep that anymore.

ATT Stores has the V20 in stock

Guys ,
just in case... a heads up, today the 24th, I just walked in to ATT store and swapped out my S7 edge for the LG V20, and they said they were selling them to, they had like 5 of them, and that was in Battle creek, MI. I love this phone way better then the S7 edge for me, I originally had the Note 7, so I took that back 2 weeks ago then used my back up for bit, then decided g to get the S7 edge, used for about 10 days, then returned for the V20.:good:
I hope they would do that for me in San Antonio. Really wanting to return my note 7 already
I'm getting different answers from different AT&T stores here. It's starting to piss me off.
What have you guys traded in to get the $200 check/credit?
I can confirm this, I got mine last night. If they try to tell you differently ask them to check their stock

Question about Tmobile insurance

Hi everyone.
So for the first time, I plumped for insurance. Because I am so paranoid about breaking that screen on my S8+.
I've never had it before (I had Apple Care on my iPhone) and am just curious as to your experiences of T-Mobile's plan. I was toying with going with Samsung's Premium Care because it says they deliver a replacement to your door, but the Tmobile guy convinced me to try theirs instead.
What I'm wondering is what happens if you break the screen? (I'm guessing people did this with the S7E and the S6E).. Say I call Tmobile and tell them, do they make me send the phone off for repair or do they ship a replacement out to me and then we swap? I'm used to Apple Care where they would take the deductible and then just replace in store.
I believe the Samsung one is near to that (not in store, but they deliver the replacement to you) so wonder how T-Mobile vary. If it's the kind of thing where they are going to make me wait weeks to have it fixed, I'll cancel it.
Thanks.
I've been. T Mobile customer since day 1. I've had the regular & jump insurance since I had my G1. I've only had to replace my phone 2 times since then. Once from theft and once from cracked screen both times i had to pay the premium which was around $100-$200 depending on the price of the phone. Once the replacement comes you send them the broken one. This time around I am trying out Samsung's Insurance.
My insurance is included with my jump 1 program. T-Mobile uses a third party insurance company called Assurant. The deductible for for my S7 flat was $175. As the previous poster said, you fork out the dough, they send you a new or refurbished device along with a return shipping label. The newer the phone, the more likely you are to receive a brand new and not a refurbished device. The more expensive these devices get, the higher your deductible is going to be. I've never used another insurance before.

T mobile is doing it a bit different now for some reason if your device has defects they send the replacement to a tmobile store where they will inspect your phone before they give you the replacement its happen twice like this that ive seen . My sister just did it they just charged her the 5 dollar shipping fee since it was hardware issue but the guy said that their insurnace claims will be handled like that from now on , waste of personal time IMO but i guess saves them money from people trying to pull a fast one

This has been my experience as well regarding the process. I have been in a TMobile store when a huge argument have broken out regarding the need to replace a phone. So if I have any doubts I just say I lost it because I don't want any rep trying to be God.
This is great - thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be in the situation where I called them to say I had a smashed screen, they sent me a returns label and then I had to send the phone off and wait three weeks for it to be fixed or anything like that.
Do they tend to issue replacements fairly quickly? I'm on the policy with Jump. Not that I have any intention of using it but I'm paranoid about this screen!!!

That's the warranty exchange process. I agree. Completely waste of time.
For the insurance claim, once approved, they ship the replacement phone overnight to the house.

you gotta make a claim with the insurance company.
They will charge you whatever the deductible is. You pay that and they send you a phone next day air.
Get that new phone and put the old one back in the box and return it. All prepaid labels.
You can do this 2 times a year.

Thinking about the Note 8, special offers?

Thinking about getting a Note 8 on AT&T under the next program.
Any deals I should know about? My friend just got one and also got a Samsung watch as part of the deal or maybe he got a credit that paid for one, something like that.
Thanks!
I believe ATT has a BOGO going on right now.
I would check to see if they are still offering the trade in for $300 credit. About a month ago, I was able to take advantage of the BOGO and stack trading 2 older devices for 600 in credits. May be gone but worth asking.
