Wireless charging heat? - Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Questions & Answers

My last phone when wirelessly charging it will cool off after it got to 100 percent. My note stays warm at 100 percent. This normal?

Using the Samsung 15w wireless charger daily. Haven't seen any heat issues here.

I'm using my old Nokia DT-910 wireless charger and left the phone overnight. I didn't notice any heat after picking it up.

Not sure if it's normal but I've noticed it too. I got the sanitizer with wireless charging and at 100% the phone was noticeably warm, didn't notice it on the 25 watt charger.

Fast charging issue

Hello my estimated charging time seems to be not working properly? It says Fast Charging @70% Estimated Charging Time 43 mins.
What's your estimated charging times? at any percentage so I could gauge mine if it has issues. Thanks!
I dont think this is a problem. When the phone is very low like 10% or so and you plug your charger in it will charge you up to around 50 - 70 very fast indeed. Once the phone is around 70% it then starts to slow down to a regular charging pace.
When I plug in my phone it says 1667 mA, after a minute it goes down to 1300 mA. Why is that? Using Galaxy Charging Current app
For starters you are leaving it a lot of info, like what is the battery level when you are doing that. Also while the screen is on you might show less of a charger rate than with the screen off.
Kinda weird but when I use a BlackBerry tablet charger (1.8A with 6ft fixed cord on them, have a lot of them for $4.99 ea) I get 1800mA which is higher than the charger that comes with the phone. I never use the charger that comes with the phone as a result.

Wireless charge temperature

Hi all, I buy a fast wireless charge from anker on amazon and I wold this know if my device is working right or is damage. I monitor the temperature and I see that on standard cable (no fast) the temperature stay on 26 °C and with wireless charge (no fast) stay in 34 °C and stay this temperature with 100% charge too. Is normal or when arrive to 100% the temperature must go down?
It should go down and cool completely when charging is over (at least thats how my s7 acts with choetech wireless charger, also using slow charging). Just give it some time after it reaches 100% (10 minutes or so).
Mine keeps being warm after a night on the wireless charger, so i guess charging doesn't stop automatically?
(just have my s7 for two days so that's something i have to look at)
I don't like it being warm as long as it is on the charger.
(samsung charger, that refuses to go to green color when it should finish, it stays blue)
Ok thanks I'm go to change my wireless charge with other model
I have the anker fast charge model (first photo)
And I would to buy the yootech model (second photo)
All see on amazon
edit:
added photo
I have the fast charge Choetech Wireless charger, and the temperature stay high at 100%, between 32 °C et 35 °C.
To solve this , kinda extreme, i bought a WeMo Switch operated by Tasker. One profile that turn off the Wireless charge 15 minutes after the battery come to 100% and another profile that start the charger between 0% and 95%.

Choetech quick wireless charger, using slow charge. This morning, phone as cold as it wasnt on the charger at all. (Cooltool at the top of the screen measures phone temperature)
I use the Anker quick charge wireless charger to charge my phone over night on quick charge setting. Phone is cold to the touch in the morning when I wake up and at 100%. I do have a case on but no heat detected from charger or case when I wake up.

Charging speed

To power up, you consume Red Bull. But your phone just needs its adaptive fast charger. Rate this thread to express how quickly the Samsung Galaxy S8 can charge. A higher rating indicates that it charges extremely fast.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I got problems with it...
Sometimes it charges really quick, like Quick Charge does. But then sometimes it says it needs about 8 hours to charge fully.
Thats why i voted Average 3* and charging speeds sometimes even differs if i plug it out and in again.
EDIT:
With the original charger which came in the box it works fine and needs about 1h and 40m to fully charge.
1 hour 45 mins normal charge with original cable and adapter S8 rocking stock AQF7 not rooted

OK, the original charger, what is the Voltage & Amperage Output?
Also.....
From 25% to full charge using a QI Wireless Charger and the Original Charger that came with it, how long to full charge?
From 25% to full charge using the USB out on a laptop (.5Amp), how long to full charge?

Hi are you Iranian?
If you doesn't use official Charger of S8 that it's available in Phone Box it's probably correct that your device will not be charged very fast and you have to use the Official and trusted charger of Galaxy s8 that Samsung electronics have confirmed it.
Been using the s8+ for two weeks
Not sure what to say. When i check with Ampere app, it only shows it charges for 1000 maH
I have Xiaomi mi5 which charges for 2000-3000 maH with the same charger
How could samsung lose to Xiaomi?
After the August security patch the fast wireless charging is broken. I have the European version S8 and a choetech wireless fast charger. Does anyone has this problem after the last OTA update?
Just to point out, the fast wireless charging option is activated in the settings but the wireless fast charging is not working, only normal wireless charging.

I was wondering if it was my wireless charger faulty... did you have any source on this bug or it's just your (and mine) experience?
you cant check charging current with ampere app, because Samsung changed charging method a lot after explosive s7.
basically if screen is on charging current drop to ~ 1000mah. and phone use 9v or 12v only if screen is off.
also if you phone charge longer than 2h something is wrong with your charger\wire or phone can't go to sleep properly due to "cancer" apps who prevent full sleep.
But iam here to ask owners of 25watt chargers, is it worth it? how long it takes to charge it with it?
i not sure if link are allowed here but here it is https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/m...apter-for-galaxy-tabpro-s-25w-ep-ta300cweguj/

Question Phone is heated up with wireless 9W charger without me touching the phone

hello guys, i recived a wireless 9w charger with my Samsung s22 ultra, and when I'm charging the phone with it, the phone heated up to around 45 celsius ...
I'm not touching the phone during the charging, also the phone heated when I'm using the 45W charger...
what I'm missing?
please guys need help
My s21u also heated up when charging wirelessly on a 8w wireless charger....I got a 15w one from a friend to test and the heating wasn't as bad....There are some days that my s22u also heats up when charging, but mostly it's cool....probably stuff/apps doing things in the back ground. I disabled the "screensaver" when charging and that helped a bit
Wireless charging by it's nature, causes a lot of heat. Charging in general does. Ambient temp will have a small effect on it's heat too.

I never use wireless charging due to the higher temps it seems to produce as a side effect. I've also heard (but not verified) that poor alignment of the phone on the wireless charger makes it charge less optimally and hence produce additional heat.
I bought a wireless charging stand with a built-in fan on Amazon a few years ago. I have it connected to the 9w charger that came with my Note9. The device does not get much warmer than normal, but of course, it does not charge as fast as it would with a USB cable.
Does it get as hot, or hot at all, when charging while the phone is off completely?
That's way too hot. For comparison, my 2022 15 Watt Wireless Duo gets up to around 103f.

Question What's causing this(Samsung Wireless charger EP-P5400)?

It's about Samsung official 15W Wireless Charger Duo (model number EP-P5400) and is the fastest wireless charging pad from Samsung.
Using the above wireless charger, charging the S22 Ultra(Snapdragon) using the 25W Samsung adapter and the cable(that comes in the phone box) . Started charging at 12 noon when the battery was at 1% and in about 3 hours 21 mins it's charged till 76%, and to fully charge it took 4 hours and several minutes. The "time remaining to fully charge" shown below the battery icon is false, it takes way more(double) time. It does fast wireless charging at 15W, but should it take 4+ hours to fully charge?
This charging adapter+cable combo does super fast WIRED charging and charges fully as intended and on time, so no issues with the adapter+cable.
Phone FW build is "AVCJ", phone is not connected to any bluetooth device or such, there's no metal object in between, fast wireless charging toggle is ON in settings, cache erased in recovery, device care app version 13.0.03.1(is the latest and app cache erased), phone restarted and so on for basic troubleshooting.
What is the issue if not the EP-P5400 wireless charging pad itself?
Bump!
PS: Ambient temperature is low (21/22°C), so it's not about slow charging due to temperature rise in the phone and the cooling fan inside the charging pad is working fine too.

This I've already mentioned in the OP.
some possibility is that the phone was doing something in the background that consumed battery while charging... check to see if anything is running in the background, often times it's Google related (some 3rd parties known to drain are FB related apps)
If this is doing all the time then might be something that you'd want to check with samsung. reproduce the issue then report to samsung using Samsung Members app > get help > error report.
Have you tried a different wireless charger. Yours may not be working correctly for some reason.

I did, with a 9W wireless charger from Samsung from 10 to 30% that took comparatively longer time than this new one, which is obvious.
Dpk1 said:
So, today it charged from 53% to 100% in just 55 minutes. Phone wasn't used while charging and 4G data bluetooth were on like before. Charging was done at similar location of the same room as before. The difference was that I used Samsung 25W adapter to power the Wireless Charger (instead of hp one) and kept the charger over a flat wooden rack (instead of over bed mattress last time).

Charged from 53% to 100% with the above "conditions" met using the 25W Samsung adapter. Started charging at 9:40 AM and done at 11:11 AM, that's 1 hour 31 mins.
What's the device care version you are using?
Just for a test unplug the pad from the charger and hook up direct to the phone with cable. How long does it say for a charge now?
I have the 15 watt Samsung Charger that comes with a 25 watt super fast charger. 15 watts wireless and 25 watts when wired. EP-P2400TBEGUS make sure when buying the one I have that it comes with the travel adapter (Charger). They sell two versions one for $39.99 that is just the pad only and then the one I have for $59.99 that comes travel adapter (Charger)
Anyway I am currently at 45% let me put it on charger and see how long it says it will take to charge to 100. Ok it says 1hr 9min to fast wireless charge to full.
Now I plug in the cable direct to the phone and it says 45min to super fast charger to full.
There is no way phone shoukd take hours to wirelessly charge unless there is a problem with the pad, charger or case interfering with wiress charging.
What case are you using? Are there magnets on it? Is it very thick material?

Hence, charged it when phone was turned off, "gain" was some 8 mins less time to fully charge. So the problem lies elsewhere.

Wait I missed that post above. You said you used an HP Charger and a Samsung Charger on the pad but the Samsung wirelessly charged in an hour and a half wirelessly? What's wrong with that?
Also where and what is the wireless pad sitting on? Wood Table or Desk? Not a bed?

I just did 33% - 100% in about 1 hour 18 min which is pretty normal for 15 watt fast wireless charging. The same Samsung 25 watt charger plugged in wired will get you there under an hour. Don't use third party chargers with the wireless pad. Just the Samsung 25 watt one. Really nothing wrong with 1.5 hours wirelessly. These are normal charge times.

Yours same one does, mine does not same way wirelessly like yours. That's the problem. Nothing else.
After about 80% the charging rate ramps down to protect the battery.
At about 90% it will ramp down again and likely yet another time as it approaches 100%; this is normal. New batteries have a higher capacity and will charge longer.
Peak charge rates occur between 6- 72% or so as long as it doesn't exceed about 102F.
Fast charging will not engage for that charge cycle if the start temperature is below about 50-60F or less to protect the battery.
Ideal start temperature is 82-90F, charging is an electrochemical reaction that needs enough heat to function at optimum fast charging rates.
Provide cooling as needed as temperature approaches 98F.
Other possible causes are a defective temperature sensor in the battery, mobo or charging coil. Firmware; corruption or wrong values. A defective coil assembly, C port pcb or mobo.
