Android Auto issue - OnePlus Nord Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I'm experiencing some major issue with OP Nord and Android Auto.
I connected the device with its original cable, but my car's infotainment (specifically : Opellink, Mokka X) doesn't reconize my device, charging only.
I tried other cable, and other device(U11, OP7t) too. Only Nord has this issue.
It's faulty product or it's "only" a software inaccuracy? (Like initially build for Mi9t, as I read)

i have the same issue with a peugeot 208 (2020)

I have same issue with Opel Corsa (same infortateimnent of Mokka) on Op forum this problem it's present for many many Cars. It's problem only for Nord

Nord and Dasaita Andriod 10, no problem what so ever with Android Auto.

First days of testing with OP Nord and Android Auto in a Seat Leon. So far all my tests have failed. Very unstable, it loses connection and enters a kind of loop, in which it recognizes the Nord, disconnects, reconnects ..... Tested with 3 original Oneplus cables, the one from the Nord and two cables from the OP3.
The OP3 has been running Android Auto and the same car without problems for 4 years, I use it daily with Waze.

My stock EU OnePlus Nord(only unlocked bootloader) works without any issues with an Opel CrosslandX. The car is new, so maybe better firmware of infotainment system?!

I'm a lucky guy On my car (opel crosslandx) android auto works for Oneplus One/5t/Nord.
I've talked about car firmware because I've thinked that car maybe need to distinguish if you plug an usb stick or a phone. So maybe oneplus usb vendor id is not recognized on older infotainment firmware.
But I don't really know how android auto works so surely I'm totally wrong.

Uninstall google (beta app) and dont update it, this solved my problem with Android Auto

Does the S8/S8+ have MirrorLink?

This is important to me. I have a Mercedes Benz CLA45 AMG and am frustrated MirrorLink would never work with my HTC 10. I have read that MirrorLink is really picky on the version being ran on the phone vs what is on the vehicle but it is a PIA to even troubleshoot. Hoping the issue is with connectivity is my current device and am anxious to move to the S8+. That will be one of the first things I test. I'll report back to see if any one updates. I believe TMobile devices may land a day or so early.

NICE
Mostly google maps and spotify
And thanks for getting back with it
I wish my cars had it ('15 pathfinder, '15 corvette and '14 ML350) Wouldn't mind sending the image to my screen.
Had the Galaxy S8 for a few days now and to my surprise, I can confirm that it does have MirrorLink! I bought it thinking it didn't.
My car has a Sony XAV-602BT double-din headunit so I will try this out shortly and report back!
Yeah it does have, here's even screenshot of function
Bad news...
So I tried my Galaxy S8 on my Sony XAX-602BT and MirrorLink does not work
My head unit flickers for a split second as if it's about to work and then nothing. The headunit just says to connect a supported device. I've tried numerous ways of connecting it with different cables, switching the headunit of then connecting and vice versa but same result. The S8 registers as being connected via MirrorLink though.
It's not an issue with the headunit as this works with my two previous phones, my Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z albeit a buggy experience.
I've done some research and it seems to be because MirrorLink 1.1 only letting you use certain apps which have the right certificates.... Problem is, there are hardly any useful MirrorLink certified apps since it's such a niche thing to have!
On my two previous phones MirrorLink would work but it would just mirror whatever is on the screen which was useful when it actually worked... I've always found MirrorLink to be buggy at best: constant disconnects, overheating phone, audio drops, battery not charging, screen freezing etc.
My advice: If you want the S8 or the S8+ then go for it as they are amazing phones. Upgrade your headunit to one that supports Android Auto as that does work reliably and will have much more support than MirrorLink since Google are backing it.
Did anyone try the LG mirrorlink app with S8? I can't get it to work because it recognizes the samsung phone.
It was fine on S7 and it offers full screen mirroring even when driving.
Samsung Galaxy S8 + Suzuki Vitara with Mirrorlink, it does work. You need to have mirrorlink compatible apps installed.

In galaxy app store you have Samsung car mode, check if your car is compatible.

Hi, somebody found the solution ?
I've the same matter. Mirrorlink confirm that my S8 and my car Volkswagen are compatible but I'm not able to link my S8 to my VW !?
Android auto was installed on my cell.
Mirrorlink does not work on rooted devices
go to stock it will work
you need to order by yourself
No matter now !
Hi,
My matter between my Galaxy S8 and my car with Mirrolink is now ok
I just use another cable....
I don't know why. I know with Apple if you have a cable from another brand, you should have some matter. But with Samsung, I'm very surprise !
Thanks all

Bluetooth Keyboard

Hi to all,
Has anybody tried to connect an external Bluetooth keyboard to connect the Mix 2. Mine does not even discover them, so it is impossible to pair them!
As a side note I am running the official LOS 15.1 build, but I am curious whether it is a ROM or a hardware problem.
Thank you very much in advance!
Not a keyboard but I've paired my G4S in keyboard mode and that does work...
Running on Pixel Experience ROM though, so no clue about MIUI.

Hi, thanks a lot!
I used to pair my BT keyboard with my GN3 running LOS 14.1 without any issues. But the same keyboard is not even seen by my new Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
Anyone with this handset who can try it out?
Cheers!

Can I use any type-c to 3.5 mm adapter on OP7?

So I'm planning to get an op7 and was wondering if I can use any 3.5mm dongle or I need a proprietary one from oneplus?

Tried ones which are locally available and face issues like low or no volume on one side. A good tested suggestion would help.
There are plenty on Amazon, get the official oneplus cable if its in stock or the fastx one from amazon
I have OnePlus adapter on my OP7, it works great.

There would b no problem till it works
I forgot to ask something else but I'm doing it now: is the oneplus dongle(the one that's sold separately on their website) passive or active? Passive is when it lets the phone use its own DAC rather than use the one that might be inside the dongle.
One Plus 7 needs an active DAC adapter. Get something from Razer they have the best DAC adaptet so far.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Bluetooth rejected pairing to Sony wh ch700n headphone

Need help! "Bluetooth rejected pairing"
Please someone with experience tell me how can I solve the Bluetooth pairing problem on Xiaomi Mi Note 10. I couldn't find any specific description like "yeah this worked for me".
The headphone is working perfectly with other phones and even with laptops.
Tried to pair with my Sony wh ch700n headphone with no success. Every time shows "Rejected pairing". Turned on developer options, tried with several extra Bluetooth settings there, but no luck so far.
Read about 30 articles on Google, but most off them was bs or just with factory reset tips. Nothing useful.
Which rom? Maybe help to reset the Bluetooth app

Just got system update, but still can't pair my headphone which worked perfectly before with my old Redmi Note 7
Mi Note 10 system:
MIUI 11.1.2
Android 10 QKQ1
Also updated the headphone firmware to version 4.5.2 from the Redmin Note 7 through bluetooth transfer. Connected successfully with the redmi, music was good. Then tried to unpair and pair again but got the same "Rejected by headphone" error message.
Tomorrow I'll bring it into the office and try to connect from my collegs phones to my Sony headphone.
The other thing that I found my old MI band which I can now connect and seems like works fine.
Any news on this? I am very curious as I am about to purchase new smartphone and I need to know if Xiaomi Mi Note 10 (pro) can pair with my Sennheiser wireless without any issues

Hi! Yes, its got sorted out.
I had to pair the bluetooth using nfc. I mean its working fine after I tried this type of pairing. Looks like when both devices has nfc then I have to use it.
Ah, I see. The same thing happened to me once. I believe it was on my Moto Z Play. Thanks for info.

Android Auto Wireless

Has anyone been able to use Android Auto Wireless successfully? Ever since I got the Pixel 5 i haven't been able to get Android Auto Wireless to work with my headunit(Pioneer 4400NEX), It works with my Samsung Galaxy S9+ but not my pixel 5 so i'm assuming its an Android 11 issue??
