Ditto. But I'm keeping a eye on samfirm for mine.
Sent from my Samsung SM-A515F using XDA Labs

A515FXXU3BTH4 with september security patch will start rolling out in the coming days

I recived bth4 today?

Still nothing. Bosnia

Lmao phones with BTU CSC receive updates slowly. Anyone knows which CSC is the one to get the fastest updates?

Germany unlocked still on June security patch as well
Is it really that hard to push security updates?

Why that rush for a security update? It's only that, phone will still be slow af.

my phone just updated the android security patch level 1 september 2020
works just fine for me, nothing slower.

Working better after update, that's for sure.
Slow WI FI problem still exists though.

I received the September update and still the phone has the same issues: inaccurate and slow fingerprint, buggy software so scrolling isn't smooth nor some animations. The fingerprint has improved a little but not much. Disappointing from Samsung: they can't even push a good update to fix the problems and MAKE THE PHONE USABLE! WHY DO SAMSUNG NOT CARE?! DON'T RELEASE A PHONE WITH PROBLEMS AND NOT EVEN FIX THEM WITH AN UPDATE! DON'T JUST MAKE THE PHONE AND NOT CARE ABOUT THE SOFTWARE, WHEN IT'S THE SOFTWARE ALSO THAT MAKES THE PHONE GOOD.

fingerprint slow and inaccurate yes, but scrolling is quite smooth for me, i dont use this phone for gaming and i'm not power user, just ordinary user, apps that i use in this phone is perform like it supposed to do, its fine..
well probably because i never experience flagship phone before ---i was using xiaomi redmi 3 pro before this as a daily driver---, so this kinda "performance" is fine for me, quite happy using it.

Agree to simple use it's just fine. My biggest concern is battery. I hope Samsung planning to address this issue with upcoming updates.

New december update is here

Hello everyone. Today my S7 Edge received the December security patch which was released few days ago. It weights around 25mb and it definitely improved scrolling smoothness through app drawer and UI in general. I saw some other people report minor changes in system apps. So did you receive December update and (if you did) what are your thoughts?
I'm using the S7 Exynos variant (G930W8) and I still haven't received the December patch. I assume that your phone is the Snapdragon variant.

My bad. Unlocked variant? If so then it's not surprising you got the update already. Mine is carrier locked and the OS update schedule says nothing about a December patch yet so I'll have to wait and see. How's the performance on yours on this patch?
Where in Europe? What CSC is it??
so i just read some disturbing cmnts on gsmarena. ppl are complaining that the new update has rendered their phone useless. rapid battery discharge, sudden reboots and shutdowns, stuttering etc.
i am on batman rom wanted to test to the new update but if its as ****ty as the ppl say then i don't wanna waste my time flashing the new update. so mind telling me hows the new update for you?

On phone arena and gsmarena I see people complain about every single I mean every single update that was released and I personally don't know should I believe in that comments or not because I never had any of problems listed there.

Nice. Wonder when this is going to hit Canada here. We just got the November security update not long ago on Rogers. Really want this December update now.
USA Tmobile S7 customer. Just updated to the Dec 21, 2017 patch, and it definitely didn't fix the 2hr battery life problem the previous patch caused. I noticed over the past couple days that the low-light and rear camera pics had become less clear and less sensitive too. A brief test right now suggests that might be better. And it looks like they fixed the word prediction/auto-correct problem. We'll see how it goes as time goes on. Regardless, after being loyal to Samsung since the s3, I think I'll get the newest version of the Pixel next. This battery stuff is b.s. and, from what I can tell, it's affecting every s6/edge, s7/edge and s8/edge in the country, and has been since the Oct/Nov patch.
I'm not sure how a security update would affect navigation smoothness... ? Maybe it's about clearing the cache after the update install, not the update itself ? Anyway, it's always good to see it doesn't slow down the phone lol
And to answer the question, exynos version here, did not received any update yet :/

I have rechived update yesterday, it was there when i manually updated. For me it may be improvement. Maybe everything works just slightly smooter..So positive feedback from Finland and exynos variant.
I cleared cache after update just to be sure.
I really should migrate to PHN from BTU . Samy has problem with BTU recently! In past BTU was the first CSC to get update but now it is the last or even worse it does not get update for months.

And if you don't like it you can always go back to former firmwares.

Has anyone else got the January update? Nobody's been talking about any changes...

I got this a couple of days ago but have seen no mention of it on this forum. It only seems like a security patch though.
EDIT: This was received in the UK

I have been saying that same thing for a long time.
If you are going to be snarky about an existing thread, you could at least post a link to it! This one came up on the search when I started to post a new topic suggesting it was similar to my question.
Here's the question I was going to post, but will post it here instead so there is "not open 100 same threads over and over". (since there was no link to the original post that was about this update and it didn't show up on the suggestions)
I received the first Oreo update on 03-Jan-18: Oreo 8.0.0, Security Patch level December 1, 2017
My understanding is that Xiaomi has started rolling out the second Oreo update that fixes a number of problems in the first release, but I have yet to get it. We own two A1's, and my wife's A1 has yet to get either Oreo update and mine has not received a January security patch or the latest Oreo update.
I'm just wondering if any of you who got the original Oreo update has received the latest one?

EDIT: Right after I posted this, it arrived on my phone! Now I just have to decide if I really want to apply it. With all the issues reported, I am not sure. The first update seems to work well for me: no camera lag to speak of (1 sec), notifications work properly as far as I can tell, etc. The only downside is a 'quieter' audio output, so not sure about rolling the dice and applying the upgrade. Will wait a few days to see what others experience.
EDIT 2:
I went ahead and did the update. Sound seems to have changed again. I went into my music app and changed the EQ to Flat and the sound was much better. I did not hear any hissing, even with classical music, but old ears may be the issue there. I don't use BT unless needed, so cannot address that issue. So far, notifications and icons all seem to work as they should. Camera app is unchanged at ~1 second from press of camera icon to ready. Fingerprint reader seems to have gotten faster, though it was no slouch (compared to my iPad) before. So far, battery usage is what I consider normal, but I don't use the phone for a lot of high drain things like watching videos or playing games. My battery easily lasts 2 to 3 days and is what I consider normal. If this changes with the new update, I will update this post.

November security patch discussion

It's a rather big download this month (200mb+), does anyone know what's changed? I've not spotted anything so far.
Xiaomi announce patch notes for security updates?.
rumors say that xiaomi rolls out big security patches shortly before rolling out new android version. so maybe Pie is coming
Maybe they needed more space for including new bugs like the one with Dutch language.
Don't know how reliable this is but the chart says 2019 1st quarter for Pie update.

The problem with the phone waking up inside the pocket has been fixed.

The November update fixed a huge problem for Italian users.
After 9.6.4.0 update (June?) most of them lost the second SIM slot; I mean, the SIM was inserted and active, but MIA2Lite didn't registered it. So, unusable at end.
This update fixed this issue, finally
i think this release feels a touch snappier.
Any big change? I'm still in September waiting for a big update in order to flash from zero.
Thanks

Why do all of you are waiting for pie? What are the benefits you suppose?
I'm only interested in tech benefits, all what has to do with "looking better" or "kiddy playings" isn't worth updating in my eyes.

All the new function and gesture are tech benefits to me, what are you expecting as your "tech benefits"?
for example stock-Camera with nightsight like gcam, integrated adblocker, firewall and so on. Its basically a linuxsystem, so why we could only use underlying resources like iptables only with thirdparty software and rooting? Maybe i'm too old, but new gestures, brighter colors are for me "kiddies playing ground".

Ok im not sure if this was here before or its a bug but i dont think so or havent noticed it pre update... When the phone is locked and u just press the power button to light it up to see the clock, and dont touch it further, the screen stays awake in lockscreen for the full 1min that is set in the display awake settings... Shouldnt it be wake like just a couple of second in lockscreen when u just dont unlock or touch it? Im think that was the case before cant remember rly... I know every phone i had before does that...

Question April Update Exynos UK

Currently downloading the new software update on UK Exynos with April Security Patch. Hopefully this fix's alot of issues we are having! 1.3gb download.
At least the GPS issues, the audio sync issues and my wifi issues seem to be fixed
Let's see how this firmware holds
Yes babyyyyyyy

Same update here in Slovakia. Have to find any difference yet. I hope that Android Auto got fixed, gonna try tomorrow.

The audio lag bug seems fixed. But at still a lot of lag in the UI, notifications especially, and yes noise in photos. Not really much of an improvement. My patience with this phone is wearing really thin. Time to sell it and never buy Exynos again.

Yes. It's not big, but it's there.
I'm using the Snapdragon with "AVC9" FW build.
Today i've get on Romania update for S22 Ultra Exynos model and after this update settings button from camera app doesn't work (camera force close without error). I've tried to delete cache for camera app (problem was still there) and after that i go to fastboot menu (poweroff, connect cablu to my laptop, power on + volume up) and there i reset the cache partition and then accessed the last option "fix applications". Now settings button on camera work again. Before was ok!
PS: second problem was with S-pen... in middle of the screen doesn't receive any input (aprox. 10x10mm was disable but with finger work without any issue). This problem disappeared after I restarted the phone.

Hello
I am with SEK csc and I am still on February update. Is this normal?
thank you

General Don't update to the latest November patch!

I got my s22 ultra a couple of weeks ago and I installed one UI 5 using Odin. The battery was really bad it would last me max 3h with a full charge. And after the last update the November patch the device is almost unusable. After updating to the November patch the device heats up really badly before it wouldn't heat up even if I was playing any game and playing music at the same time keep in mind I have the Exynos version. The notifications are bugged when receiving a notification and swiping it to dismiss it while the notification sound is playing it will make your volume really low and you can't turn up the volume it fixes itself only if you receive another notification and let it play the sound fully.
Update: Now when using the camera the phone heats up almost instantly and just lags really really bad
Until now the s22 has been garbage.
All is good for me. Try to reset your phone.
Same here, updated it and have not had any issue...
you say you updated through odin did you update with a different model firmware because most exynos models got the update through the phones software update so nif it was different model firmware that might be the problem.
For me, November patch improved battery life over October one
Snapdragon here; November patch lasts longer than the initial firmware.
I dont notice any changes, but overall the battery life has improved.
Actually, battery life is noticeably better. Kinda reminds me of beta 3
all fine here

You should maybe Google about what's exactly contained within the Play System update.
There's no such a thing as cosmetic change and if that's so - Your November patch solves the hardcore part and this just adds the cherry on top now, wouldn't it?

Must be an issue with the Exynos model. The Snapdragon had poor/inconsistent battery life for a few charging cycles after the October and November Android 13 updates. After 6 days, it has settled down to about where it was on Android 12. The updates reset a lot of the battery optimization software.

More likely, it is because he's rooted and probably has some crapware installed. From what I've read, the official update from Samsung is a big improvement for both Exynos and Snapdragon models.
