I've been facing this problem of device refresh rate dropping to 90 randomly mid-usage. I play some mobile first person shooter games and randomly device starts getting slow and the maximum fps it gives is 90. The device interface also becomes 90fps and it doesn't get fixed till I reboot.
Any solution?

Maybe your device heats up and so it drops the framerate.. although miui 12 has a bug it automatically switches to lower refresh rate and you have to go to settings and choose 120 fps again.

Hi all,
I was just wondering if there is a way to force certain apps to run at 120 Hz when my phone is set to the ‘Auto Select’ refresh rate. I have had this on since i bought the phone but the Microsoft Launcher will only run at 60fps unless i force the phone to remain at 120 Hz universally, something i don’t wish to have enabled for battery reasons.
Many thanks!
I got this problem too , 120Hz is not real
Hello!
I have one annoying trait about the Twitch app. When I watch a live stream at 480p (30fps), the refresh rate goes down to 30hz. It should be so, but after a couple of seconds fps starts to fall (18-25fps) and the picture becomes twitchy. As soon as I press and start keeping my finger on the screen, the picture and fps become stable (fps 30, refresh rate rises to 120). This issue was only noticed on the Twitch app. It's worth noting that I'm using a modified version of the app (nopbreak). But the problem was also on the original Twitch with Google play (Only there it was necessary to wait +/- 30 seconds to start lagging.) Do you have the same lags?
Looks fps and refresh rate using Power Monitor in "developer settings".
P.S. Sorry for google translate
same, frame drops are so annoying even for just a second even millisecond hurts
i guess its just on twitch's end , nothing we can do about it
So I disabled the game booster and game launcher, also currently trying to disable the game optimization service but can't.
The phone is experiencing a fps drop at least every 10 seconds or so when I am playing pubgm on the lowest graphic setting.
Does anyone else have this issue? CPU usage was never 100%. (and gpu usage is always below 15%) In fact, it pretty much stays around 50% all the time, so I don't really have a clue why it is having a stutter/lag every now and then.
Also, there seems to be some sort of input lag. Not sure if that is related to the issue above.

Maybe other apps are running in the background. Try to close all other apps. Disable any energy saving option. Have you installed latest firmware updates?
S21 Ultra should be able to run without any lags.

Hi, i have a problem with adaptive refresh rate.. It never drops lower than 120 hz..idle on home screen shows 120hz, everywhere 120hz... What is wrong, it suppose to go down to 24hz on idle...
Update : ok screen brightnes should be above 15% in order the adaptive refresh rate to work...
Hello,
I have flashed a custom ROM (LineageOS) for my Motorola Edge 20 Pro phone. The only feature I miss from stock is the ability to set refresh rate for games to 120 or 140hz sometimes, otherwise I like my phone to be at 60hz for power savings. I turn off all animations anyway.
I tried to flash the Moto games apk which did this but sadly I get an error: "Package com.motorola.gamemode requires unavailable shared library moto-core_services; failing!"
I had a look on the play store and I couldn't find much. What options do I have if any?
Thank you
AFAIK a screen's refresh rate ( measured in Hz ) typically is fixed, unless device has a variable refresh rate ( VRR ) feature, e.g. 60-144 Hz.
With the moto app when games are detected it would up the refresh rate automatically.
I can set it to 120hz which is semi variable, if the screen brightness is high enough, but I don't really want 120hz etc for anything apart from games, I'd rather take the extra battery life!
