Is there a way to get the lock screen before the pattern screen?
for me, when i hit the wake button, it goes straight to the pattern screen. If i turn the pattern screen lock off, and i hit the wake button, it goes to the lock screen.
I just want it so that if i hit the wake button it would go lock screen then pass word pattern screen
Pretty sure you can only have one or the other.
That's weird. Mine always prompts the lock screen then my pattern screen. Thought this process was default.
Could try this. Go into settings>CM settings> lockscreen> unlock options
If skip on security is checked then uncheck it. That should prompt the lockscreen then pattern screen upon wake

Why do people assume that everyone is using CM. I am on Weapon and your answer means nothing.

haha I lol'd
One can only assume since cm is the majority. If you don't want assumptions then be specific on the details. General questions can arise numerous answers.
I use pattern unlock to unlock my screen. I just upgraded to 6.0 and now I get a "Swipe screen to unlock" screen before I can input my pattern unlock (see attached screen shot). This swipe screen didn't appear on 5.1.1. This screen is very annoying. It is an extra step to unlock my phone. How do I get rid of this screen to access the pattern screen directly? I turned off Smart Lock.
I want answers to the same question. Its verkligen annoying with 2 screenlock.
Do anyone have a solution?
Any friends out there know how to remove " Swipe screen to unlock" text, Please. This is annoying me. Thank you in advance.

Samsung's Good Lock app now has an option to hide lock screen text but it'll overhaul your whole UI.
On my gs8+ if I tap or double tap on a lock screen notification it does nothing. if I swipe the notification either direction it simply dismisses it. I know I can highlight the notification and then swipe up to get to the app but that is a two step process. Am I missing a better way?
I have mine PIN protected and I need to highlight then swipe up to enter the pin or unlock with the fingerprint reader..

No pin or any other protection on mine. Still have to highlight and swipe up. I dislike the two step process and hoping there is a setting I've missed.
So I turned my Pixel on and the Home screen shows a brown box with the words "Tap to setup" and a Gmail icon. I don't know what I did to get that. I checked my settings but did not find a way to get rid of it. How can I do it?
In trying to resolve my problem I opened Apps, tapped Gmail, and found "Open", "Disable", and "Force stop".
When I tapped "Disable" I got a warning that Android and other functions may no longer function as intended, so I tapped "Cancel" and backed out of that option.
Next, I tapped "Force stop" and got a warning that the app may misbehave, so I tapped "Cancel".
Then I tried "Passwords & accounts", tapped my google account address, but all that had was a "Remove account" button so I backed out of that.
If I long-tap the message on my Home screen, a "Remove" button appears at the top of my screen but if I tap that, nothing happens and the message remains on the Home screen.
So I fiddled with the message box, swiping it to the right/left/up/down and finally, after 3 or 4 swipes to the right, the message disappeared. When I turn the phone off and back on again, the message does not reappear, so I think that the problem is resolved.
I think.....
Only other think I could think would be remove and re-add the account, but hopefully it is fixed.
maybe try to clear your launcher app data.
Just as a matter of curiosity, how does one clear one's launcher app data?

Hi,
Go in Settings > Apps > and look for the launcher app.
Force stop it and go in "Storage & cache"
Click: Clear storage > done.
You may click on the 3 dot menu on you upper right corner and tap on "Show system" if your launcher is installed as a system app...
Good luck,
Sébastien.
Okay, I followed your instructions.
After I tapped "Clear storage", I tapped the center arrow on the bottom of the screen to get back to my Home screen. My 4 shortcuts (that were at the top of the screen) were no longer there, and the bottom row of apps "bounced" up and down every 2 seconds for around 10 seconds and then stopped bouncing. This happened each time I went back to the Home screen.
After a few minutes of fiddling around with the cellphone, the bouncing stopped when I went back to the Home screen and so far it has not returned.
Why did the bottom row of apps bounce up and down?
