Hello,
I was having a problem with Google syncing my calendar to the Samsung calendar, so I tried everything I could to sync before I finally just removed my Google Account from the phone and re-added it. Now under Accounts >Google > Sync account I am only seeing Chrome, and missing calendar, gmail, contacts, etc. Has anyone ever encountered this problem or have an idea on how to fix it?

I switched over to CM from stock and installed the gapps, but my Calendar widget has been completely blank, the Google account sync page doesn't have a "Sync Calendar" checkbox anymore, and I can't even add events in the Calendar app.
I tried putting GoogleCalendarSyncAdapter.apk in /system/app to no avail — Still says sync error.*
gmail, youtube, music, and Drive all work, so it doesn't seem to be the google account itself...
Now doesn't connect either. Is this an issue relating to today's service outage?
Had the same problem, just uninstalled the calendar. rebooted the phone and then reinstalled it via play store. went in to settings and selected which calendar it must sync with and boom, everything back to normal.
Is it the widget only that's not working?
You can try to clear cache and data from Settings | Apps | Calendar, Calendar Storage & Google Calendar Sync.
When I sync my google account it says sync error with the red symbol,BUT it does in fact sync everything and I have all my contacts and apps and stuff.
All of the sync arrow cycles seems to go through, next to the check boxes, they're all fine EXCEPT, there is no option for "Sync Google Calendar" ... This is where my issue differs from ones I've seen.
YES I've tried removing and re-adding account, Re-installing Google Calendar AND making a new account and syncing that, new accounts made ALSO don't show "Sync Google Calendar".
With the chrome webapp for Google Calendar it does infact sync everything and that works through Chrome in that tiny interface. I also have all my desktop chrome bookmarks via the 2 step verification in chrome.
So my only issues are, the red error for Sync Google account and nothing showing for Google Calendar app.
When I click "Calendars to Sync" it just stays blank and loads forever, and I KNOW I have Calendars to sync since they DO show up on the webapp.
Error says:
"Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"
Please Help.
Hi. I just installed the following ROM and I don't have an option to sync google calendars in the settings menu. I tried adding 3 google accounts and reflashing, no luck.
GOOGLE EDITION 4.4.2 BY Danvdh, jds3118, Sbreen94, Kryten2k35 & Ktoonsez

Under settings for the account, I can sync:
App Data
Contacts
Drive
Gmail
Google Photos
Google Play Newstand
My Tracks
People Details
Sound Search for Google Play
I am also getting sync errors when I try to sync contacts, but I can usually get those to eventually sync after multiple tries.
Any thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks
So on my Nexus 5, my Calendar syncs fine, but on my Note Pro, it doesn't even show up as an option... I go under accounts in settings, click my Google account for sync options and Calendar is not one of them. It has everything else like Gmail etc but not Calendar. I have the Calendar app installed, I am signed in. But it refuses to sync. Am I missing something here?
I can't have my own email servers, because Google considers anything not from gmail, yahoo, hotmail, etc to be spam. So I use a gmail account and need to have a google account in my phone. I use Nextcloud and DAVx5 to sync some files and contacts, so I disabled the google account's contact sync.
Since I imported my contacts into Nextcloud/DAVx5, I deleted the google versions of said contacts. However, despite google contacts sync being disabled, this deleted all my contacts over at gmail and contacts.google.com.
Is there a way to positively DISABLE contacts sync with my google account?
ps. Notice how I didn't bother to post this at Google support?
