Hello Everyone.
I have a xiaomi redmi 9a phone and it has android 10-32bit installed.
Is there a possibility to install somehow Android 10 or any other version of android but to be 64-bit?
I bought this phone only because of the DJI FLY app which unfortunately can't run on 32bit android.
Also before buying the phone I had nowhere to check if the software version was 32bit or 64bit but now is to late
The phone's hardware is 64bit.
thanks for answer
If you are sure that the phone's hardware is 64bit, I think you may try to install a Android 10 64bit rom.
But now, I wonder how to check if the software version and a phone hardware are 32bit or 64bit.
Thanks. Have a good weekend.

I checked with test programs and it says that 64 bit is the architecture, but the android is 32bit
I waited seven days to unlock the phone and that’s all right. Now I have a problem with twrp. I can't install any, that is, when I install various versions, the phone just turns itself off and on. The question is, is there a TWRP version for my phone (Xiaomi REDMI 9a) or is there some other solution to this problem?
thanks for answer

i think redmi 9a doesn't have TWRP recovery just yet (i have one and currently using it as my main device) because one, redmi 9a doesn't have any custom rom for the time being and second, the chip is MediaTek. As far as I know, MediaTek doesn't roll out their source code to the public, unlike Qualcomm (Snapdragon) which its better to the developers. That's why we also see Snapdragon devices got custom roms all over the place, for example Pocophone F1, which coincidentally being made by Xiaomi. My advice is just hold it for longer, or just change your phone to a Snapdragon-powered device.
I am currently daily driving the Redmi 9A because I already bricked 4 phones throughout the 2021 year and because I am trying to let myself also not to brick another device.

It used to be possible to do so by flashing the bootloader from an earlier version of Android.

For Samsung phones, likely yes, maybe with some hacks. For Xiaomi phones, no and never.

No idea about Samsung phones (looking at Knox).
But it is definitely possible to go back on Xiaomi phones and it is pretty easy to do so, don't spread misinformation.
You need authorized EDL I think? It can be bypassed? Or again test points?

On my Poco F2 Pro (Xiaomi Redmi K30 Pro) it is as simple as flashing a fastboot ROM in a bootloader, can even change regions that way.
Ok Mi A3 can not downgrade, idk why K30P can
If your phone is a Huawei device, you may take advantage of a PC utility, HiSuite, in order to downgrade your device with ease.

Yes, sure, but Huawei never have Android 11(EMUI 11 is still Android 10) so his phone is probably not a Huawei.

I have gone back to android 10 from 11 with ODIN.
I'm not sure if ARB protection is active as my friend wants to flash custom ROM. He's unfortunately on Android 11 so I can't risk his phone.
I've done it and nothing bad happened. Just had to format data afterwards to exit the bootloop. Went from V12.0.6.0.RJGEUXM (A11) to V12.0.7.0.QJGMIXM (A10) to be specific. The A11 one was missing a few switches in the settings menu that I use. I belive there's no Xiaomi ARB protection on POCO X3. You can also read this if you're not convinced yet.

I informed more yesterday about ARB and i thought that authorized account is something that only certified Xiaomi servicers could use. But that's not the case. Thanks for confirmation.
Did you flash a recovery / zip ROM or a fastboot one? A have just received an X3 NFC with Android 11 / MIUI 12.0.6 , and realized in 5 mins that Android 11 is not my cup of tea. It screws up my Nova + Fluid NG combo like hell - hate it.

My friend didn't flashed it yet as he has trouble with laptop recognizing Poco X3, hence no unlocked bootloader.

No worries, in the meantime flashed 12.0.8 using MiFlash - now everything runs fine.
I have installed PixelExperience-Plus-veux-12.1-1333 to my POCO X4 Pro 5G.
The setup and getting the root with Magisk was completely successful.
Then I found there is a newer version of PE "12.1-1405" and tried to update PE with adb sideload.
As a result, Pixel Experience has been broken and Recovery mode said following.
Can't load Android System. Your data may be corrupt. If you continue to get this message, you may need ti perform a factory data reset and erase all user data stored on this device.

I know that running a factory reset may take me right. But I do not want to remove my storage data.
Is there a way to fix it and update my system without such trouble.
I think it is really ridiculous that update requires a factory reset.
How did you get the PE?
May want to ask wherever you downloaded it from. Flashing random roms external to XDA when you don't have a working recovery is asking for trouble imo

I think the best thing you can do rn is get your phone to adb sideload mode using the lineage unofficial recovery u have installed and pull internal storage to ur pc (u can find guides on how to do that everywhere) now factory reset and then flash the rom
Also please from the next time u try to update/change rom use something like migrate to backup everything

edit: if you're reading this about a day later then I'm probs no longer a pixel exp+ user anymore

There is an unofficial pixel experience plus rom port available for the device
if you want to flash it please look at my other thread called "Opinion on (Unofficial) Pixel Experience Plus for Veux/Peux"
it has a few problems here and there.

How do you find the ROM's when the device is not listed in the official website?
Search up your phone's FASTBOOT stock miui ROM (chill, we will not go back to stock, we will stay at PE, we just need vbmeta.img), download it, extract and find vbmeta.img under images folder, put into c drive not under any folder, then execute FASTBOOT command:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta C:\vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot

They mostly port custom roms unofficially the only official custom roms available for the device is Descendant OS and Miui Mix
they have ported:
Evolution X
Pixel Experience Plus
Lineage OS
They have even ported a lineage recovery for the device although it's not the best it's what we have for now till we get a TWRP/Orange Fox recovery (which might still take a while, sadly the X4 Pro isn't as popular of a device or even if it is it's popular as one of the worst processor choices in a 2022 device)

Thanks for the reply. I have redmi note 11 pro + 5g(india), and one of the reason I bought this device because I thought development is going to be quite good. I thought the processor is alright (yes Gpu is bit old) given the price and now that every other device is going with mediatek, a device with snapdragon adds to the reason to go for this one. But Still it's a bit early to say about the development support, don't you think?

Xiaomi still haven't released the kernel source code yet. See https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/branches/all. No new branches for quite a while. Until then I doubt custom rom development for this device will pick up.

Can I do that with other ROM?
I am afraid of losing my data so I have not tryed it.
hi, i updated my phone to MIUI 13.0.3 android 12 and i've noticed a bug that made all the apps that are using the camera like instagram and snapchat take blurry pictures like an effect getting applied to the pictures taken by those apps (everything normal in my stock camera app) so i decided to use MiFlash tool to flash the previous android version on my phone but i bricked my phone instead i flashed a global rom while my phone is the chinese market version and accidently checked the ClearData+lock Device check box in MiFlash. the tool flashed the rom successfully but when the phone restarted it showed me a message saying that this rom cannot be installed on this device in recovery mode i couldn't do anything after cuz the bootloader got locked too T i tried everything to unlock it (mtk Client - bootloader unlocker+ adb fastboot + Xiaomi Unlock app ...). please help me is there any way i can fix my phone and what is the righ Rom to flash on my phone (Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G China (21091116C - Pissarro). thnx
friend I'm not a star I tell you how things are 1) you can't go back with another Rom only china 2) anti-roll-back 3) MiCloud you have to disable it you can try MiflashV2 there is also to unlock the bootloader it does everything even the firmware remember if the firmware does not start. important not only china also not china for updates remember first you do the factory reset put google account do not update any app except google drive backup with drive if it has arrived update it is better by setting the time instead of downloading the package the problem is when the update occurs it fails to close all active apps and then there is MiCloud that blocks. Best wishes and good luck and that I have little time for me too much trouble here in Europe.

currently my phone is stuck at the logo and after seconds it loads Fastboot automatically i cant access the phone os to do anything i used the xiaomi bootloader unlocker app that works online but it didnt work . the local cell phone service shops told that they have to open the phones back case to fix it ... i dont want that i've just bought the phone didnt even use it for a whole month
they don't have to open it they use licensed or dongle software (USB type) currently I use unlocktoll.net but if the phone is under warranty and you haven't removed the bootloader before it is better for you. It is possible that others have the same problem as you. Good luck

Rule number 1 for Xiaomi never flash anything on Mediatek devices, it will fail. If messed up, no way back as Xiaomi locks the devices for autorized service providers or local Xiaomi branches only. If you want to play with Xiaomi custom roms/development/etc. related only buy Snapdragon based devices.
I i.e. learned it the hard way, when this all started with the Redmi Note 8 Pro, I bricked it by flashing twrp in Android 11 and Xiaomi didn't want to repair it, so I had to pay some russian guy to fix it via Teamviewer with a modified unlock tool which was able to answer the unlock requests by pasting the answer manually from a generator. It's not like I messed up at a point, it's just that Mediatek devices easily fall in a unrecoverable state. In my term it was the combination of Android version and twrp. You will note there is no Mediatek support on xda and even when your device is named like a Snapdragon version, your device is offtopic here, because trying anything on it beyond unlocking the bootloader is harakiri
how to unlock my bricked Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g (Chinaissarro) Bootloader
Congratulation. Brick without unlocked BL :/
my opinion: you are done....
Some Xiaomi devices have pins on motherboard to
switch EDL, but i dont know with this device.
Try complaint and say something like: "my phone was upgraded and then i see only logo"

rule #1 with Xiaomi - bootloader is unlocked
I have a Russian (thanks Amazon !!) Redmi 9a 32Gb/2gb. It is currently running latest 12.0.x ROM version, but i would like to upgrade it to 12.5.
I see on xiaomi ROM site there is currently a 12.5.x version for Russian version, but the OTA never arrived and if i download the recovery zip file and install it manually, it fails verification and stops.
Is there a way to install 12.5 without unlocking the bootloader ?
Is 12.5 supported on this specific redmi 9a ?
thanks !
mmm... spflashtool might work, but Ive only ever used it on a bircked device to unbrick it, never on a functional device to just change the ROM version, but if you really wanna do it without unlocking bootloader thats your best choice.
I will say anyway, its probably safer to unlock bootloader install recovery and install the rom from there, its your call tho.
Heres how I unbricked my device
[GUIDE] Unbrick hard-bricked device
Condition Phone does not turns on Phone not detected via USB Phone handshake/memory hash failed Requirements Unplug battery Download MIUI 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Fastboot ROM Download Scatter File for 12.5.4.0.RCDMIXM Download SP Flash Tool Download...

Right now I cannot unlock the bootloader, maybe in the next months I might try (I want to wait for the warranty to expire). My concern is that my version of Redmi 9A with just 2G of Ram is actually not compatible with MIUI 12.5. The 12.5 rom is actually available, but OTA will leave me in the 12.0 branch and verification fails if I try to install the ROM manually. I would not want to brick it by installing an unsupported ROM.
My phone model is M2006C3LG and the ROM I have right now says I have 1.8Gb of available RAM, I don't think you have a different device from mine.
Im a total n00b so I may be wrong about this next thing, but, I think the only difference is what version of MIUI they were sold with since the hardware doesn't allow downgrades further than the stock ROM that came with the device.
There is always antirollback after MIUI 10, but I think its even further locked for the original stock ROM that came to the device, but yeah, this is all my own speculation due to a bricking incident I faced.
The model number is the same, but the 9A was available with different sizes of RAM 2 or 3 or 4 Gb. Mine is the low end 32/2 which is the model still on sale today. If you still have 1.8 Gb of free RAM you very likely has the 3 or 4 GB model.
Maybe you are right, the OTA allows only for updates within the same MIUi version; I saw several guides on-line and i think i will try the miflash tool and switch to the global version. I have to find a way to unlock bootloader without Xiaomi account (no way in hell I'm signing up for that) and without sim card (this phone is used as a smaller wi-fi only tablet). There are some tools for an offline unlock, I will try those first.
It is incredible how Xiaomi is making it complex just to update to a stable official ROM; given also how much bloatware is shovelled with the stock ROM, I'm not sure I will ever consider Xiaomi again.

Thanks for the info. So you upgraded to latest 12.0 without moving to 12.5, any reason for not trying 12.5 ? The phone is currently barely usable with Android 10, maybe Android 11 is even heavier, but why not give it a try ?
I saw several youtube videos and guides and by using MI Flash with a Fastboot image (scattered tgz) it should be a total reflash of the phone.
