No it supports 25 not 45. Read Sammobile they have all you need to know!
dont be smart.
tell me why is there a option for "fast charging"
AND a option for "Super fast charging"
Could be for the same reason Note 10 has a 120h setting despite having no hardware that supports it. So the software has it covering all even though only S20 has the hardware

Fast charging is from 15w to 18w , super fast charging is 25w and for devices older it is 25w to 45w
Mkbhd mentioned 45w charging, not sure if he misspoke.

I don't think he is over rated at all, but just figured the comments weren't filled with corrections and he generally does provide accurate information. I watched most of the reviews, most only mention the 25w charger itself.
I figured he might have misspoke this time around none the less.
Honestly, all things considered, 45w charging is like 80-percent more power but barely provides 10 minutes extra speed charging,. It's like 45w charging for 10 minutes in the begining and that's it.
he IS overrated and spends more time glossing over video production than actual data one can use. in this case, he misspoke and his writers should be more careful in reporting such things without verifying because this can affect samsung negatively if the sheep out there just rely on what this influencer says and don't do any more research.
45 watt charging is only good if you are flat or under /at 18%. more than that the charging speeds slow down considerably. the phone can only take so much heat with the extra camera sensors (they do NOT like heat) and samsung had to compromise.

Maybe the output specs could shed some light on interoperability. I'd guess that between the differences of Samsung's Exnos processor and Qualcomm's Snapdragon there isn't much collaboration to build a common fast charging standard. Too bad, that.

General properties of batteries. Fast charge and discharge cycles cause them to break down sooner.
Guys, I tested the Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger and it was a no-go. I tried two different ones under ideal charging conditions and what I found was the charger would sync with the phone and boost to rapid charge levels, but it wouldn't sustain them. It kept prematurely stepping back down to slow-speed, lower amperage levels. So IMHO you should save your $$.
The QC2.0 certified chargers that I have found work 100% are the ZeroLemon wall charger and the PureGear 12v car charger. Both will lock the phone on at high rates of charging unless (or until) the phone heats up too much, then charging is throttled until the phone cools down some. My observations are that it will definitely throttle after temps rise above 100F and if you cool the phone down by (e.g.) holding it in front of the A/C vent, rapid charging resumes.
Ok so I tested the Samsung Fast Adaptive Car charger and it's pretty fast even with the screen ON due to the Car App, though better let the screen dim by itself or the phone will get hot.
Conclusion: I recommend this charger even though it's a little bit more expensive than Chinese cheap QC 2.0 that can end up DOA or be bad for your battery
My wall QC 2.0 charger works as it should once over 3 and the screen can be a little weird
They added qc4, but it's more like qc3 with just 18w(9v 2A). I hope a kernel mod will allow the phone to get 27w which will charge the phone completely in approx 1h 30m to 1h 40m rather than 2h 15m with the 18w charger.
Whatcha think nerds?
I think that's a bad idea as they will have specified a battery suitable for 18W charging ...
Battery should last for ages, anyway. It's 5000mAh, very close to pure AOSP, and the display is by no means large.
If you endlessly play with the camera motor, it might drain a bit faster, but otherwise, I suspect this will have the best battery life of any phone in the small flagship class.
I'm fine with QC3.0, since I've used that a lot.
But if it does come with QC4.0 then I couldn't be more happier.
With the battery capacity it has, I don't think I need to charge it all the time so QC3.0 is something extra for me.
The sustained speeds should be higher due to the battery size but I wouldn't personally want to risk modding the charging speed. Sounds like they made the insulation layers pretty small to get the capacity at the expense of charging rate.
My main concern is how well it sustains the speed and the temperatures (QC4 should be decent in that regard) because any maximum speed will drop off a cliff when it gets to 70-80% anyway.

It's really difficult to even find data on what the difference of those two are in real world scenarios. If I'm not mistaken the + version requires two PMICs (whereas it sounds like it was optional before) and I think the Zenfone might just have one. Asus themselves advertise 4 without the plus. If you ask me, Qualcomm should just have called it 5.0 to avoid the confusion especially because Qualcomm's own marketing material is very vague on this.

I'd be surprised if the battery didn't get dangerously hot if it's done.
The separator wall of cathode and anode on a battery that can handle faster quick charging would need to be thicker.
Asus chose 5000mAh with a smaller separator to keep size down. In the same size, ASUS could have chosen, like many others have, to have gone with a ~4000mAh battery with a thicker wall to support 30W+ fast charging.
It comes down to trade-offs based on physics. I'm always game for experiments though
Did a very little test. on org charger and cable
Battery on 65% did give 7,5 Volts and 1,65-1,70 Amps

The difference between quick charge 4.0 vs 4+ is that 4+ is compatible with USB PD (power delivery) which is the fastest charging standard, its what i think OnePlus and Samsung use for their tech. 4.0+ was revealed in 2017 a year after 4.0. It's lame but unfortunately Asus's zenfone 6 current batches do not support 4+ (however 4+ charging is still backwards compatible with 4, 3, and 2.0, that's why when @MishaalRahman tried their QC4+ 27W charger it didn't charge any faster, it just downgrades to 4.0 charging speed)
there's a chance a refresh of Asus's zenfone 6 may happen with 4+ release. Doubt it..but who knows
4.0 is still supposed to charge faster than 3.0 but I personally don't really see that increase in charge speed. Could be because of the size of the battery but either way I'm still happy with it because the large battery just means less charging (for me personally) since I just mostly do google searches and text, and once in a while use snapchat/ig. Its the perfect phone for me, I bought it yesterday to replace my Pixel XL (gen 1).
Hello everyone, i just bought a new wireless charger form Baseus and charge my s21+ with fast wireless charging on, and while charging i notice that the phone battery get as hot as 40 degree Celsius. SO i try turn off the fast wireless charging option and let the phone cool off to ambient temp (around 32-34 degree) and charge again, but it still reaches 40 degree.
I want to ask is this normal, and please share your temperature while using wireless charging and the brand of charger you use.

Well, phones getting hot while charging is usually normal.
Sometimes it happens when the phone charges for too long and at a higher voltage and amps.

Hmm maybe it would be online, I don't have the particular phone and a thermal imager so i wouldn't know exactly.
Hi guys, hope it's ok I ask a similar question here.
I do to have S21 5G (exynos) and samsung 15w wireless charger with 25w brick.
The issues I'm having is with charging speeds. If I use fast charging, the current is around 2700mA. But as soon as the temperature hits around 35-36 degrees charging current starts oscillating between 300-600-900 mA. It takes around 5 hours to fully charge the phone. It's faster if I turn off fast charging. It takes around 3 hours.
Room temp is around 26 c.
I don't remember having similar issues with S20.

Fast charging increases the wattage of the charge so your phone overheats.
If it overheats too much the phone limites the charge rate to protect the components.
It seems like a flaw in the fast charging or smth like that
keep fast charging off if it overheats your phone, and maybe try keeping it in a cooler environment

Hi everyone
After two weeks of use, fast charging doesn't work anymore.
When I plug the cable, I can see in the AOD screen the "fast charging" message and the time left (let's say as example, 46 min).
But after one or two minutes the "fast charging" disappears and the expected time left increases to 1 and a half hours or more. Sometimes it takes almost 3 hours to charge from 20 to 100%.
I made sure that fast charging is activated in the settings.
I tried with several combinations of chargers and cables and even with portable batteries. It happens with them all.
Did this happen with anyone else?
Have you made sure the charging port is clean? It could also be loose, but the easiest way to test is also a horrible idea.
Update:
Oddly enough a reboot solved the problem.
Everything is back to normal now with fast "but not so fast 15W" charge.
I suppose it was a software bug.
Let's be real. 15w will never be "fast charging" no matter what Samsung's marketing team says, but I understand your concern

The Note 10 added 45W, only to drop back to 25W on the 20. At 25W, the charge from 15 to 100 was about an hour and 15 minutes. The charge from 15 to 100 on a Z Flip 3 is about an hour and 20 minutes. You lost 5 minutes.
Throwing 45W (or even 25W) at a tiny 3000 mAh battery in a phone that's folded in half is asking for a fire. Google Note 7 recall. You'll understand why Samsung would rather risk any whining objections be made safely.
S22 Ultra 45W vs S22 Ultra 25W vs S21 Ultra 25W charging test
wouldve expected it to charge much faster, especially when you consider the smaller battery.
Totally expected, 45W works just at lower temperatures and under 50% charge as it was back in the Note 10+ days. It's useful only when you are topping up on the go, for 0-100% it's almost the same

Well it is improved, it was downgraded 2 years ago to be fair and now is back to that state. It charges faster from 0% to 50% which is exactly how it used to work before. If you expected something different your expectations were wrong, don't know what to say. Even devices with very fast charge charge faster for the first half then slow down considerably. Samsung has always had a more conservative approach on charging after the Note 7 debacle, that's why I expected it to be managed like it was before.

The N10+ with the 25w brick will fast charge from 5-70% at the rate of 2%@min on its 4300mAh battery. Between 70-82% it may ramp down slightly, at 90% fast charging disengages.
This is dependent on battery start charging temperature, if too low or high fast charging will not engage, and battery condition. A 20% charge in 10 minutes isn't bad...
Fast charging is limited by heat buildup in the battery caused by internal resistance. The Li cell charging process is actually an endothermic reaction but is outweighed by the internal resistance generated heat.
I can see it being an issue for those that prioritize fast charging over battery longevity. I charge my device overnight and use a Chargie to regulate the charge to a maximum of 80% and limited to 8 watts. I'm not a power user and this method may not work for everyone.

I doubt it. QC boosts the charge wattage by increasing the voltage; more volts less amps means less parasitic waste heat.
What's left to improve on the charging protocol side? They to improve the battery itself now for any meaningful performance improvements.
These manufacturers push the hype, the reviewers do too, then long after the release the truth finally comes out.
If you can wait a few months for the dust to settle you'll get a better idea of what to expect.
