is it possible to recover data if my phone is bootlooping?

i have a Flex 2 that is boot looping, is it possible to recovery the data without wiping all the personal data? I know that with samsung if you flash the same sw using Odin, it does not delete the data. is there such a thing with LG also?
If you flash a KDZ, You will not lose any data.

TWRP nandroid backup questions

What exactly needs to be backed up with these new a/b devices?
I know data and boot are checked by default but do I need to backup system image, vender or vender image?
Side note what do I do when I can't unlock the phone after a data restore? Is it because of encryption?

Don't look at A/B partitions differently compared to older phones. Just know which slot your phone is currently working off of. If you received at lease one OTA you should be on B and every OTA will flip you from one to the other.
Depending on how resilient you want to be. Data should be enough, since Boot, System, and Vendor can be flashed easily using an RUU/ROM. Always perform a full backup (Boot, Sys, Data, Vendor) if you're going to be flashing mods etc. If a mod breaks something you can restore fairly quickly and be operational again. Knowing which A/B slot your own helps so you backup the right one. Vendor only really comes into play if you want to backup/restore to a full Stock and to ensure OTAs download/install.
Unfortunately restoring your Data sometimes resets your unlock pin, pattern. If you're able to boot up to your lock screen then its an easy fix hopefully. You'll have to boot into TWRP decrypt your Data(if you can) and delete your lock screen preferences (Handy How to)
If you can't decrypt your data then you're probably out of lock and have to erase it. To avoid being locked out of your phone/data. Before backing up your phone just remove whatever unlock method you have. That way TWRP will decrypt your Data by default and any restore won't end up locking you out.

TWRP Backup - What to select?

Hi,
'
I have just got this phone, I have moved from a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and on my SGS 7 Edge when i wanted to create a TWRP backup all i needed to backup was:
Boot
Data
System
and this would allow me to restore to a fully working state.
However when i do this on the A7 2018, the backup completes but when i try to restore, it bootloops and i have to flash the firmware through Odin and re-flash the recovery and re-root.
There are a lot more options to Backup when using TWRP on the A7, there is:
Boot
Cache
Data
Recovery
System
EFS
modem
misc
cp_debug
System Image
Vendor
Vendor Image
odm
What from the above do I need to backup to get a restorable backup for the A7?
thanks in advance

Problem restoring OOS nandroid backup after flashing a custom rom

I'm testing various custom rom so often I want to go back from the custom rom to OOS. I have a twrp backup of my OOS, the problem is that i cannot restore it properly. If, from the custom rom, I reboot to recovery and restore the backup, the phone bootloops. I've also tried to format data and rebooting to recovery before restoring the backup, but this doesn't work either.
The only way I've found to properly restore the backup is to completely reflash OOS via MSM tool (or fastboot), but this takes really a lot of time, because apart from the MSM tool installation itself, it relocks the bootloader so I have to wait for the system to boot up, toggle oem unlock, unlock again the bootloader, wait for the wipe and for another system boot up, boot in twrp using fastboot command, transfer 13GB of data to the phone and then FINALLY restore the backup.
Is there an easier, and most important, faster, way to restore the backup?

On this link scroll down and read the "tips", if you have backed up rom the way it says you shouldn't have any problems in restoring, hope this helps, cheers

Data recovery from bricked and encrypted device after factory reset possible?

Hi
let's say a mistake happened, caused to brick the tablet which resulted in the need to flash the stock rom.
Is there a way to recover data from this device that was previously encrypted?
I can still see the files (at least on the SD-card) but I'm unable to open them after this event.
The data on the memory from the tablet itself is 'gone'.
I suppose that recovery was an option if it was NOT encrypted, yet impossible now?
