SM-J737T Root Available? - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

Hello, I was wondering if there's any root available for the T-mobile variant of the Samsung Galaxy J7.
I've searched online and CF auto root may work but it requires OEM unlock to be enabled in developer settings. This option is missing on my phone and I tried the date trick already.
I'm assuming this phone bootloader is permanently locked if that's the case.

Does anyone have any development on this device? It's newer and running a droid 7.0 nougat. Any root info or bootloader unlock info would be greatly appreciated
I too am looking, upgraded from the smj320a, gotta day love the phone just needs root do I can retire my older one.
Side note, I noticed oem unlock is missing. Haven't been able to find a reason or answer.
Yeah I seen that too. I was thinking about trying the custom recovery twrp for the galaxy emerge which has the same board and specs as the j3 prime except it's running marshmallow. If I flash it that might work but then it will trip the frp lock and the phone will be soft bricked. It's hopeless with a locked bootloader
Well, frp bypass is kind of my new found hobby. Have locked 10 devices and bypassed them all, one was a new found bypass on the lg tribute 5 running that 5.1.1. So if you frp I can help. Can we tag people in these like that crap spy social network site? Aka FB. Because I do know someone who could possibly help.
I too would also like to root this phone. T-Mobile variant.
How do we go about getting the sm-j327t1 it's own set of development threads?

At the same time it says it's not allowed check pictures
Also found this,

Verified boot. Maybe a root that takes affect after boot. Like a temp boot, an on and off switch type root.

I don't own this device, but according to what I can gather, it seems that FRP can be OEM unlocked, but the property is not set hence the property set to 0 for sys.oem_unlock_allowed.
For why it doesn't appear in dev settings I think is another issue. Can anyone confirm that this device does NOT have a manufactuerer locked bootloader.
Just to clarify:
OEM unlock = disable Googles FRP lock not unlock the bootloader.
If this device has a manufacturer locked bootloader then the likelyhood of root for this device is minimal.

How can I check it?
Also while roaming through a shortcut creator I noticed frp is an option in many of the secret menu settings, what ever happened to temp root?

The easiest way would be to simply remove the signature from the stock recovery image and then see if it flashes with odin. If it does the bootloader isn't locked. If it fails then it's highly likely to be locked.

I found an article saying for oem unlock to factory reset and don't set up Google, no frp to stop oem unlock. I'm backing up apps now will update in a few hours

That sounds promising
Yes I didn't set a screen lock as from what I've learned that's what activates frp, unfortunately my laptop has crashed (anyone good at bios pm me) but still no oem unlock and adb isn't working now, pc at work I've got android studios downloaded but I'll refrain from the lock until I can check, still don't know how to pull a signature from a stock image tho... But also in that article it States that oem unlock was enabled even tho there was no setting but they had unlocked boot loaders

Root Samsung Galaxy J7 SM-J727V

Hey XDA. I need a little help. I tried CF Auto Root for this device, and it didn't work. It just fails. I have run as Odin as administrator, and tried different USB ports and tried different cords, NOTHING WORKS. Please help. This is the Verizon variant of the J7. It runs Android Nougat 7.0 and has the July 1, 2017 security patch. Knox version is in the screenshots.

So, I really don't have any options?
I'm in the same spot with this phone. I found instructions online to root it but all mention the enabling OEM unlock, which the phone doesn't have. I guess either these online instructions are clickbait or the Verizon version is different. Does anyone have any ideas how to root this?

Go into about phone keeps pressing build number you should have it after that on boost !! Verizon bootloader is locked !!
ohk
so conclusion there is no way to root the sm727v?. hm. that's a waste.
You can do bootloader
To do bootloader, you need to turn off the phone, then hold power, volume up and home, and release power when you see the version info thta normally appears. The system will say that it is updating, but just wait.
Actually if you get into the phone settings and look for Carrier unlock you can call Verizon and get number I believe that's how you unlock the bootloader if I'm wrong please correct me I'm still kinda new at this so let me know
What do you mean by "carrier unlock"?
Edit: Thats to unlock the carrier lock, as in, the lock preventing sims from other carriers from working.
Have you figured this out yet?

Samsung*J7 Prime SM-J727T1*Nougat*CF-Root

Before I do this, can ANYONE confirm if this works with my version of j7 SM-J727T1 before I turn it into a brick?
https://www.androidinfotech.com/2017/09/j7-prime-sm-j727t1-nougat-cf-root.html
After searching and reading related threads on other version I think i found a thread that's already talking about this particular model. Sorry if this is an unnecessary thread.
I tried it, didn't work.
It get's stuck at the downloading part and says "secure check failed - [recovery]"
I have tried this method and it didn't work. It requires that your bootloader is unlocked. I have MetroPCS j727t1 and my bootloader is locked and the option in developer options to enable/disable is not there. Because of this I could not root. If your bootloader is unlocked then I can only assume it will work.
How to Unlock without the option in developer menu.

If you to your apps folder then go to the metropcs folder
there is a app called "unlock device". When you run it, it wl
Fail at the end. To get it to work call metropcs customer support and they will enable that app to work. I have done this on three SM-J272T1 phones two 16gig and the 32 gig verson.
I attained root, here is my guide.

Thanks man but unfortunately I tried this as well, I don't have the third option for unlocking, all I have in recovery is cancel and continue, holding volume up doesn't do anything
Hello ? Can someone tell me at least if it's doable ?
Someone ?
I've been in the same boat for a couple of months now. It seems that Samsung does not allow this option in the UI (or anywhere else I can find for that matter) for Qualcomm versions. Hopefully someone will come up with a proper hack soon because the bloatware on s10e is just disgustingly invasive and desktop mode is definitely lacking compared with Linux alternatives.

To root a phone's Android unlocking its bootloader is NOT required.
You simply have to add SU binary to Android's filesystem and make this binary executable.
I want to oem unlock bootloader for trwp and roms but I can't find oem unlock in dev settings and tried the video above and a couple of other things I found
You need the Samsung flash tool and the version of android for the phone and su +twep+magisk is optional good luck
Ps. Allways back up everything!

And I'm fixing the Samsung flash tool is PC only correct? My **** got stolen like a few weeks ago so I'm trying to figure out how to do this **** without a computer and it's a pain in the ass pretty much impossible.
I am having this issue and can't find a resolution for it anywhere.
Boost Galaxy a13 5g android 12:
No OEM unlock switch available...
The trick changing the date doesn't work at all...
I am not trying to flash custom ROM, just to tweak the system kernal settings.
I seen someone mentioned to root w/o the OEM unlocking switch available, all that is needed is to flash the SU binary with Odin.. I haven't tried this yet but I am almost positive Odin for windows doesn't even read the Samsung devices without the bootloader being unlocked.
Anyone care to chime in here? i'd be very appreciative!
Mainly WTF is the OEM unlock switch not available on my device. I actually have 2 of the same devices and both are without the switch.
Also would flashing SU work and do the trick?
Any other useful information you could send my way would be really helpful too.
Maybe who's find how to unlock bootloader on this device after July update?
