Anyone confirm if the hotspot throttles after 18gb on ATT network? I currently have a Xiaomi and it doesn't throttle because ATT can't see if I'm using my hotspot it only shows data not how it's being used.

Hi All,
Thank you for taking my call.
So I want to ditch Comcast. I am thinking about using T-Mobile LTE with a 4G router. Maybe this router: DLink DWR-921 4G LTE Router.
My question is: Do I need to purchase tethering from T-Mobile when I set the 4G router with my T-Mobile service?
Also: T-Mobile says when you do purchase tethering, they limit you to like 5GB of tethered data. If I used the 4G router, would this limit affect me?
Thanks!

I am running stock Nexus 6P, can I use carrier network for all data while connected to wifi? My location has slow internet but my 4g and unlim data are much faster on Verizon.
I have cricket, and I used to have the Xperia C4 and it didn't ping the network to check for a hotspot plan, so it let me freely use it. So I was wondering if anyone (who has cricket on the unlimited plan preferably) knows if it pings the network to check for a hotspot subscription before I go to buy this phone?
Thanks!
Can I bypass hotspot throttle on the revvl 5G ?
No. It's a tariff issue.
I activated an S2 tablet on a $20 unlimited plan through ATT. Then I put that same SIM into a Netgear LM1200 modem
Everything is working fine except the speed. Both my work-provided hotspot (different sim) and my LM1200 are using the ATT Broadband APN and only get about 20Mbps down. But on my S20+ phone (different sim) using 'enhancedphone' APN I get 100Mbps down
It's worth noting that if I try to use this APN with my lm1200 it won't connect. Can anyone help me understand why my Phone and hotspots see drastically different speeds? Is it all because of the APN? If so, could I work around this by 'repairing' the IMEI on my modem to match a similar Samsung S20 so that the carrier would allow those higher speeds?
There is a good amount I do not understand about how carriers split traffic and determine speeds, so I am appealing to the experts here.
I have a dual wan wired router, using spectrum cable as the primary. So I'm only looking for LTE to be a backup during an outage. But I'd like to have around 100Mbps if possible
