For the Note 20 ultra trade in, can the spen from the Note 10+ be kept?
That would be a question for Samsung but I wouldn't risk losing my trade in to keep a S-Pen that can be purchased on Amazon for $25.

Hey, so I'm interested in jumping from the note 4 to the note 5, I currently have jump 2. I know I have to trade my note 4 in but would i also be required to put down a down payment for the Note 5? I had to put a down payment of $250 (due to not so great credit) when I got my note 4 back in April and honestly would not want to do that with the note 5. Half of the phone is already paid off BTW.

I say go for it!
Probably have to ask tmobile about that. I think it's based on credit as well as length of time you have been a customer iirc.
I haven't had the 4, but honestly, I went in to buy one at Costco and they were running the $250 promotion on the 5 and a couple other samsung phones as well as the Samsung holiday promotion, I decided on the 5 as it turns out cheaper factoring in the promotions.
Having had the note 3 when it was released I don't find the 5 leaps and bounds better. Giving up removable battery, SD and replaceable back is a lot IMO. Not saying the 5 isn't better, just not all that better and when you compare it to the 4 I would imagine even less so.
I think the question is around down payment and I think you should reach out to T-mobile.. you might have just missed the note 5 lease offer for BF weekend..

I owe about 300 bucks on my note 5. I wanted to have 2 phones, 1 for VR/backup and one as a primary phone. thought about selling my 64gb version for 500 bucks last week but now... due to everything that's happen, seems like the "Free Market" has now priced the Note 5 lesser than what it was, selling now for about 350. Great steal but this is sad for us Note 5 users who thought about selling it. I can either keep it or use the Jump program to get a different phone. . I do have a Note 7 v2 but haven't decided if to return it or wait or what. I can't root it. Can't do much with it like I can my N5. Only reason to keep is will be for the micro card slot.
Anyways... I'm stuck between keeping my Note 5 and what to do with the Note 7.
Anybody else thought about selling their phone?
Hope our note 5 resale wont go down too much. My wife has the s7 edge and we read that it has lots of problems with wifi, bluetooth and a few other things and now the note 7 was a total piece of crap. I think samsung is going down hill with their products, I have a 65 inches smart tv and had to replace the screen on it under warranty but now the screen is getting bad again but its not worth it to pay $3000 to change for a new one. I also had a few galaxy tablets and had charging problems with them.
I think samsung's quality is not like it use to be and its too bad because samsung has really nice products
Here they are sold below $300, 64gb or 32gb (only tmobile or SM-N920W8) at&t, sprint or other models are more cheapers. S7 flat, under $300, s7 edge under $400.
The only one that does not depreciate is the iphone. The 6s plus is above $400 (only gsm models) that's too bad

On a side note if you do end up getting rid of the note 7 hit me up [email protected]
So I have an S10+ trade in which is $600 and a $150 credit promo, what if: When I received the Note 10+ and won't send my phone, whill they just charged me $600 (+ the remaining balance) on my account?
Planning to sell my ceramic S10+ 512fb for more than $600.
Thanks

Yes. They will even send you an email that says if you change your mind about the trade-in to just keep it and they will bill you $600.
My suggestion: buy a base model S10+ for $400-$500 and trade it in. Then sell your ceramic S10+ for whatever you can. Just make sure you buy and trade in a S10 PLUS if that's what you promised you would trade in.
That's what I did. I had a 512GB Note 9. I sold it for $600. Used that money to buy a 128GB Note 9 for $400. Now I'm trading in the cheaper Note 9 for $600 to Samsung. That's a $400 profit. Paired with my $200 gift card from Samsung for reserving and preordering the Note 10+, I'm basically getting a free N10+
Hope everyone is Staying Safe!! I have not posted on this site in a long time.
I have a Note 8, NO PROBLEMS with it and still satisfied with it.
I have read all the specs on the two phones Note 8 and A71. The A71 seems like a very good choice now to upgrade from the Note 8 which I have had for over 3 years.
I looked at the S20 FE and compared the specs on that to the A71 and Note 8.
For the difference in price I think I will go with the A71. I know the S20 has a better refresh rate, but I do not play games and the extra $200 or more for the S20 can not be justified as I am an OLE man.. LOL
What are your opinions on which to get, A71 or S20? Open for all suggestions.
Thanks for your time and help.
Please Stay Safe and Happy Holidays!
I just got through reading the Real Life thread on here. Very good info. Still looking for opinions on worth of moving from Note 8 to A71. Don't really use my phone as a phone. More like a Laptop for News, Notes, etc.
Check slickdeals and you can get the A71 a lot cheaper. Use the Note 8 for trade in and use promo codes from slickdeals for a really good deal.
Thanks for the tip. I have checked many sites for the best price. I have an S7edge ($115) and Note 8 ($185) trade in.
I can buy a refurbished A71a much cheaper without using a trade in. Have used this option on many of previous Note x purchases since the Note 2, with warranty.
I want to keep my Note 8 as it is still a great phone. I always keep a backup phone.
An update on my decision to buy an A71 5g. Ran across a special on Samsung Website and they offered an A71 5g on special.
I traded in an old S7 Edge and bought the A71 for $260. The best deal that I could find as it is brand new, warranty and T-Mobile.
If anyone is interested I can provide the link if that is allowed on this site?
The best deal I could get from T-Mobile was the A71 5g if I took out another phone line for $20/month x 24 months. That would have been $480. The regular price in T-Mobile was $600.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Please Stay Safe.

Received my A71 5G Black. Did NOT come with a plastic back cover and no ear buds. Called Samsung to question why the ear buds were not included. Their response was: No longer supplied with the phone. NP since I have better ones from my previous phones.
No major problems transferring data from phones (Note 8 to A71.) Some apps would not work on A71. Still setting up some non default settings. Write back in a week to let you know my opinion. So far, GOOD!
Did you purchase through carrier or Samsung?
If you went through Samsung, did you go with 4 year financing or the 20 month option? Carrier option or straight unlocked?
With the Fold 3 hinted at, I like the idea of the 20 month plan.
Thank you!
I bought one second hand on Swappa and paid for it outright.
Samsung Unlocked
Samsung Unlocked, took a month to arrive, but works great with Google fi!
Samsung unlocked, Samsung financing.
Oh, with 4 year.
Direct through Samsung, custom hinge. Traded in my beloved Note 10 Plus (also purchased directly through Samsung).
direct from Samsung Australia store.
i was supposed to get a Bronze Galaxy Fold 2 for the wife, but she did not like the folding feature and prefer the Note20 Ultra instead.
i ended up getting the Black Galaxy Fold 2 for myself.
no regrets.
This third attempt at purchasing this phone I bought through saying like I always do and paid in full pending trade of my old note 10 plus that they're offering $1000 for. Unlocked.
