[Q] SD card wont show using CWM

Hi
Flashed my Galaxy Note N7000 with STunner 4.2.2 JB rom on NX kernel and the SD card epic saga began.
The rom is awesome in every other aspect but this
A little background:
After flashing the above rom and kernel, the usb transfer speed is too low < 1mb/s (32 gigs class 10 card) so I searched and decided to try multi mount sd. This increased the transfer speed to normal but the phone would reboot midway of transfer. SO multimount sd failed didn't actually fix my problem. Next heard people telling me to transfer files in recovery (CWM):
1. The card mounts in recovery without any error (sdcard and usb storage tried both) but I cannot see it on my pc (Win 7 64 bit)
the card is formatted asd Fat 32 using windows and I have also tried sdformatter for windows (found this suggestion on the forum) but still it doesnt show up on windows ! Is it really that difficult to transfer files onto sdcard via USB ????
Any help on fixing this problem is highly appreciated. My aim is to transfer files via USB onto SD card at normal speed (10-15mbps) and not @ drop dead crawling speed (500kbps to 1mbps). Help people !!!!!!!

Are you finding your device in the device manager? Download the adb package and try to see if your device shows when using the command "adb devices"
It it shows up it is some driver issue.
Unplug the device, uninstall all usb-drivers you can find.
Reboot
and plug in the device again and hope it's working
I have also found out that it's a bit tricky to get working, but with just trial and error you will prevail!

Thanks for he reply mate!
Well here is what I have done and seems to be working finally for USB transfers:
Download and install multi mount SD
Connect USB and mount sd crads using android (Touch to copy files)
Safely remove the mount cards from windows
Unmount USB from android (touch to stop usb storage)
remount sd crads but use multi mount this time
And yes enable the option for the device to stay awake while charging
Thats it getting transfer rates of 20mbps without any problems since then

[Q] [Help] Sdcard not recognized after formatting

Hello,
I own a mtk phone, a Wiko Rainbow (Wiko -- a french low cost phone brand) and I recently got a quite awfuling problem: the sdcard is no more recognized afetr having been formatted The sdcard of the phone was no more recognized on any PC for some time. So I decided to format it so this issue be fixed. Then I did.
But now, the phone doesn't recognized the sdcard at all. No way to see it in phone browser. the sdacrd doesn't appear in Settings> memory too. I tried many kind of formatting : fast formatting, or not with Windows 8.1, I also delete the FAT 32 partition on sdcard, then recreate it in FAT32... No more success...
So I tried to access trough adb but no success...I get a strange error I've never seen when trying to cd to usual mouting point of sdcard (/mnt/sdcard1/) The error: Transport endpoint is not connected. Any idea so I recover my sdcard please ? that's really boring !
Thanks in advance
The phone has a stock recovery, is running android 4.4.2 KitKat, and is rooted.
[Edit] tested with an other Wiko Rainbow (which had some sdcard problem too) and same issue !! Exactly the same ! sdcard no more recognized with "Transport endpoint is not connected." issue trough adb ! I precise I used an other sdcard, but same brand that the first
So, to resume we have 2 phones Wiko Rainbow, 2 Samsung class 10 SDHC card, and exactly the same issue for the 2 devices ! Problem can't be software, because it's been updated some days ago for the both smartphones, and the problem didn't solve.
So I tend to think the samsung sdcard may be defective, due to too many R/W perhaps ? I have no idea.... Can somenone enlight me ?
Thanks in advance
Up please!
Problem not solved yet ! :crying:
Please help !
try using Mini Partition Tool. Format your sdcard from there.
Yes, it's what I did straight away, but doesn't work.... After formatting, sdcard is also rejected like if I had never formatted it and like if it was damaged....
i think your sdcard is corrupted. You need to buy a new one. (last option in my opinion)
Yes, it's what I envisaged at first. But how is it possible that a second SD card got the same problem?! Maybe it's the phone which corrupted the SD card?

Damaged memory card try reformatting

This is my first post ,,plz hlp.
here is what happened:-
i rooted my phone 2 years ago and have been using ICS rom on my htc pico i.e. explorer with twrp recovery from 5 months and yesterday outofnowhere my rebooted automatically and stuck on htc logo then i went into recovery where i realized that it was unable to mount.
I connected to my pc with phone in recovery mode but i was not able to see the card detected by pc bt somehow i used recovery software to recover files which worked then after sometime i disconncted and reconnceted my phone to pc with phone again in recovery mode then somehow in my computer i was able to see removable disk and on double clicking it i was able to format it. At this point i would say my problems were gone ,in recovery mode i was able to see my sd card but then i do a TERRIBLE MISTAKE. I partitioned my memory card from the partition option in twrp recovery and then it was back to damaged state(me mentally damaged ). I tried evreything i tried before, but nothing helped, even the recovery software which detected my mem card previously now didnt detect it
Now my computer is also not showing it even the " removable disk" which it showed previously somehow and i was able too see it.
but the thing is in diskpart when i list volume
i am able to see it with 0 kb capacity which i was able to see before also and now too,but now i am not able to see it in my computer
thing i did:-
- flashing another recovery but it didnt work
- wiping in recovery mode
- chkdsk
And yes it had ext 4 partitioned as the ICS rom's prequiste was 1 partition but dat wud not be the problem as i hav been using it for 5 months and aslo i had formatted it after recovery.
plz help me its a class 10 samsung sd card and i want to use it
Thanks

buy an adapter and fix it properly on your pc. adapters are not expensive, im guessing less than $5. a lot of sd cards come with them when you buy it.
plus, when in pc, you can use tools to check the card for errors and bad sectors. maybe partly bad, thats why you are having problems.
Okay now I got an adapter but still no use,, I cannot use chkdsk as some error comes, diskpart clean shows io error
Help.....

along with the previous suggestion, you can use this to make sure its genuine, and it will report bad sectors and other things.
you should use this first to make sure there are no issues with the card before attempting to fix something that may not be fixable.

[CM13.0] Internal storage problem

Hello.
I have just wiped my device and installed the newest CM13.0 - Marshmallow (LG G3 D855). After rebooting and configuring my phone I got an information that my SD card is unknown. After pressing the notification the phone asked me if I want to use my SD card as external or internal storage. I read about this in the Web and decided to choose the 2nd option. The card was formatted (it was stucked at 20% for couple minutes and after that time progress bar disappeared - no information about success or errors). Internet said me to reboot my phone after the operation is completed.
Now I have a problem. External storage disappeared. I was expecting it to be a part of my old internal storage (about 10GB + 64GB of my SD). What I saw was still 10GB and nothing more. I tried to go to the settings and checked `Storage and USB`. I found my card but I couldn't check the size and anything (there was an information "Checking...", which didn't refreshed even after 2h of waiting...). I think my SD was FAT32, but I'm not sure.
Now when I put the card into my PC i see it has 16MB of size. I tried to format it with size adjustment into NTFS, exFAT and FAT32 - the size of 64GB came back but after doing factory reset and configuring everything in the same way as I described before, I get same issues (using all the file systems).
After all I got angry and decided to choose using my SD normally as an external storage. In this case I see my card and I'm able to copy data on it, BUT... It has size of 16MB... I'm tired of this and really don't have any ideas how to repair it. I don't care if it is internal or external storage. I want this to start working as expected.
Informations:
- LG G3 D855
- CM13.0 (cm-13.0-20151127-NIGHTLY-d855.zip (290.07 MB))
- MicroSDXC ADATA 64GB CLASS-10 (AUSDX64GUICL10RA1)
[EDIT - SOLVED PARTIALLY]
I have partially solved the problem. I noticed that this 16MB is just a swap space. Probably that's why Android saw it as a partition to use.
I managed to set my SD as an external storage. I used EaseUS Partition Master. I deleted all partitions on my card. Next I created a new UNFORMATTED partition (just a raw partition). Then I put my card into the microSD slot in my G3 and started the phone. I chose `external storage` option and it worked! I tried the same for internal but it hangs at 20% and gets an exception. So for now until they fix this, I will use it in the old way.

i cant say this will work, but if i had your problem i would clean off the rom and flash it again, and while in twrp before booting, format your sd card. if that doesnt help, i dont know what else to try.
i didnt know this storage option was added to cm13, but anyways, i would never use external storage as internal. ii have seen people try for years, and usually come back with some problems.

I just ran into this problem on a LS990 (Sprint LG G3) and your post gave me a lead on how to fix it.
I didn't have a microsd reader handy so I used adb shell while in recovery and deleted the partition with fdisk
1. opens ADB
Code:
adb shell
2. This shows you the partitions on your device so you can pick out your external sd card
Code:
cat /proc/partitions
3. mmcblk1 was my external sd card, yours may be different
Code:
fdisk /dev/block/mmcblk1
4. P shows your partitions on the device
Code:
p
5. D deletes the partition on your selected device device
Code:
d
6. O creates a new empty dos partition table
Code:
o
7. N creates a new partition and I accepted all defaults
Code:
n
8. W writes new partition table to disk and exits fdisk
Code:
w
9. I then shut down my phone and removed the microsd.
10. Power phone back on. Once phone has completed boot, insert SD card and it'll give you the option to set up the SD card because it's corrupt. This time, choose portable.
**Note: I'm not an expert by any means and this may be completely unnecessary to go through, but this happened to work for me. Use at your own risk**
up any solution in 2016 ??

Broken storage and /boot missing (or unmounted)

Hi,
so I have a really weird issue with my Redmi 6. As you've read from the title my phone's storage is broken and /boot is missing (or maybe unmounted).
Let me explain what happened.
So my bro needed 16 GB SD card for postmarketos (the SD card was in my phone) so I told him that he could have it. He had 4 GB SD card which wasn't enough for the postmarketos so he gave me the SD card. When I inserted it to my phone, MIUI asked me what to do with it. There were 2 options. Use it as external storage or extend internal storage so I selected extend internal storage. When the process was done, internal storage was unmounted... I tried mount /sdcard but it didn't work. Then I came across a video that has sm command in it and it was a partition management command or whatever. So I tried mounting internal storage, and it worked! BUT when I opened file manager it detected internal storage as USB. I literally have NO idea why (MIUI file manager detects it as USB but Google file manager detects it normally). I tried to fix it with the sm command, but I only made it worse... When I tried mixing the partitions I accidentally typed disks instead is disk (sm partition mixed disk"s":128,179 50). Then I think is started formating the partitions. I was lucky enough to cancel it, before it formats the whole /. It formated only the SD card and I think /boot. I don't think I can give any more info about what is did. I hope someone could help me.
Thanks for your time.
Sucharek
PS I don't have my phone rooted or unlocked bootloader or a custom ROM
Note: Everything happened when the phone was on
Please someone tell me a fix
I'm waiting almost a month and so far, no answer
Please, if you can, tell me a fix
Thanks
Hi guys I have an update that I reset my phone and everything works now!
