There are a lot of posts here complaining about the beta, but...it's a beta. It's still in development. I was very vocal when the gear first came out without fleksy especially when they announced it with launch nearly 2 months before the release date. But it's here and I'm happy. here are some tips to make replying to sms easier.
1. Use the shortcut clock and put fleksy as one of the apps. One thing I love about the gear 2 is how easy it is to customize the interface by simply dragging and dropping from the watch.
2. If you have a group of lets say 5 or 10 people you text very frequently, simply put a "." in front of the contact name. When your watch syncs up, those contacts will be at the top eliminating the need to scroll through dozens (or in my case) hundreds of contacts) When you get notified of a txt, simply press the home button, click on fleksy on your shortcut watch face, select contacts at the top of the list and your all set. It's really very easy. I've attached the image to show you my setup. If anyone has any questions post away, I will be doing a video on youtube shortly.
Thank you for Fleksy for finally getting this out there. This app brings us a huge step closer to the smartwatch we all wanted!

Thank you for the tips/advice. Your suggestions are great and it works well to sort. My issue is that I thought Flesky would do autocorrects, especially with such a small keyboard to try and use, but mine does not. Does anyone know if this feature is coming?

The auto-correct feature works just fine on mine. It didn't work the first time I downloaded the application but after a delete and re-install it worked fine. You could try that.
Always worked on mine. You're right, it would be worthless if it didn't

Guess what? It does work, but I was typing one word tests at first and did not hit the space bar. You need to do this to have the autocorrect do its thing. Now when I type tsting, it corrects it to testing, or thrre to three. Thanks all.

Good point. I always have to hit the space bar after the last word, which is kind of weird
how i close off the autocorrect theme because i am from greece and i want to write greek with latin characters an the autocorrect make this thing impossible.
it may just be me or my phone, but it seems like after i send 1 or more messages with Flesky from my Gear neo, the "swipe" keyboard on my S5 stops working. I also lose my autocorrect feature unless i restart the phone (have not found another fix yet).
anyone else notice this? its almost like the S5 forgets it has Swype, and instead thinks its still using flesky.
I've setup my "Double Press" home button to open Fleksy. The "Double Press" command works from any screen on the Gear 2. After I read a text message I immediately "Double Press" and Fleksy appears showing my inbox.
It pops up once every couple days and just won't stop, even after adjusting the app optimization settings. Just keeps informing me of a feature I'm fully aware of. Anyway to stop this?
You can go to app notification option by pull down your notification bar and long press on the apps and turn on "block notifications"
What does it want from me?! Is there a setting, besides shutting it off, to disable that?
Oh nice!
I always forget about that feature, thanks!

No, I want the optimization feature active. I DON'T want the notification every 2 days. It keeps reminding me about the optimization feature as if I've never touched it. That on off you're talking about turns the whole feature on and off.
Briankbl is right, long pressing the notification does not give the option to disable the notification like most other apps. I've also been wanting to know a way to disable the notifications without disabling the feature. It's annoying for me too!
You can only hide the lockscreen notifications. Hopefully, at receiving Taskbar notifications every other day, it'll only be 10 or 20 more notifications before we OTA to 6.0 and don't have to deal with it anymore lol.
Any idea if this *beeping* notification is actually still active in 6.0? Or are we just hoping it goes away...because it's aggravating. So very, very aggravating...

Hopefully Samsung disables/removes that part of their "Smart Manager" then. We can but hope, I guess...or has anyone seen a leaked 6.0 Note 5 ROM?

Whatever - this only started impacting some users 2 days ago, so these other threads have not addressed the issue or closed it yet. (Yes, this is a dev. forum not a user forum.)
I take it, the notifications cannot be disabled without disabling the entire process.

hmmmm what do you think I was responding too because your answer to me makes no sense. but OK... Have a good day
It's been pissing me off as well, along with the daily volume notification that leaves me on my motorcycle every day wondering why my bluetooth headset is silent. So is this Samsung's meddling again, or is it Google this time?
I have the same issue. Since the last update on my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9515). The notification every few days is annoying as hell.
So annoying!!!
I threw my phone against the wall and smashed it because of that stupid annoying notification.
(Well not really but I feel like it)
I finally just turned that stupid feature off. It's not worth the annoyance.
Hello,
Maybe i'm an idiot but how do i turn off the wake function when a notification is received.
So i'm not touching the phone and it is doing nothing. then a notification is received, next my screen wakes up and shows me the notification and falls a sleep again.
I do not want this to happen , when im at work people see my notifications when my phone is on my desk.
How do i turn this off ? Help is appreciated
many thanks

Thank you for your help.
i have done what you suggested and this all works as it should but still my screen wakes up everytime i get a notification.
Indeed when i do what you suggested it shows icons only but still i see the lock screen with the full or short notification and then the screen falls a sleep.
Until i receive a notification agian the screen wakes up shows what i have put in the setup and falls a sleep again.
one example is when im in my car listening to Spotify, everytime i skip to the next song (with the button on my steering weel) the screen wakes to show me the next song.
On my edge 7 it wuld only show the next song on the always on display screen.
I find this very strange and i would like to know if this is happening with all S8+ phones.
Thanks for your reply.

How that happens... I think that there is no Samsung Galaxy phone that do that thing.... I have s8+ (exynos) and I'm using glimpse notification to make this work... Because that is what I want... Everytime I recieve a notification I want my phone screen to light up and see what the notification is about and where it comes from!
That's why I don't need AOD because it doesn't show notifications details...
And my phone without "glimpse notification" app never wakes up the screen when I recieve notifications...
How does that working for you?
Indeed my phone's does exactly what you describe but without glimpse. How is this possible?

My phone screen also wakes up from notifications and it's annoying.
Switch to another sms app
I found the issue. It was due to the app "Nils" I had installed. It was wrongly configured on my side.
Thank you all for your suggestions

Mine is off yet it still does this, seems it started happening with the jan 2018 update. Worst of all you can read the actual contents of the notification when i specifically have that disabled.
Ok this is starting to piss me off and no matter what I try nothing works. I keep pocket texting people when it's in my pocket because the screen comes on when I get a text. This just started a few days ago and I'm reaching the point where I think my sensor is bad. Basically when it's in my pocket and I get a text that damn pop-up comes up and turns my screen on and then "bdbsuchdvfufhdvshdhfhdhfh"
Yeah if anyone can help that'd be great. I've turned everything off and don't use aod
Edit. I found out how to get the pop-up to turn off. But the screen still comes on

I had this problem. Turn down the sensitivity of the hard press home button. It kept activating in my pocket as a result of the sensitivity being to high from factory.

I'll try that out. It seems to only come on when I get a notification though. It's definitely not my sensor though I fig that much out

Ok I got it. It was a mix between greenify and my lock widget. I took the lock wigget off and set up greenify deferent and it's all good now.
And as far as the home button the only Sensitivity I found was the haptic feedback. Don't know if that's what you were talking about

i am having the same problem. Phone is unlocking in my pocket all the time for all sorts of reasons - not just notifications. I have the don't turn on if in a dark place like pockets setting to on, have tried locking the screen whenever i push power button, and several other things, but i am butt dialing, texting, deleting and everything else. Very frustrating. Serious problem.
Plus, when i have the phone in my pocket and then call someone from bluetooth headset, it turns on in my pocket, hangs up on them, or turns off bluetooth, or mutes them, etc. Again, wow, very serious, bad problem. How can i get this to stop?
I don't have greenify, and would prefer to not install it.
Is this happening to anybody else? Or has anybody found a solution? I've enabled / disabled any setting that has anything to do with turning on in pocket, proximity, gestures, smart lock etc and the phone is constantly turning on in my pocket and doing crazy things. Today, for example, the phone dialed my wife, paused / played music four times, changed play lists, tried to send a text to a relative, tried to make an emergency call, and changed some settings. This is making me absolutely nuts. It seems as though when a notification turns the screen on, the phone rubs in my pocket and creates "touches" that open apps and trigger events. This NEVER happens when the phone is sitting beside me, only when it is in my pocket. Something is really weird with the proximity sensor in this phone. BTW, I'm using the S8+.
^ Exact same problem with mine in the pocket. I wish functions like the bixby button would disable itself automatically in this situation.
Imagine you being seated in a library and your phone from nowhere start playing a loud music...
That's need to be fixed.
Same here. I've sent various text and calls. Even accepted calls and other stuff while in my pocket. Wonder if it's a bug in a recent update
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Have any of you tried this setting in accessibility? Easy screen on was my issue.
Happens to me all the time as well. I have the "keep screen turned off" slider on and the "easy screen turn on" slider off. This is a bad situation. Annoying and, at times, embarrassing. Needs to be fixed!!!
I've been having a similar issue with an S8 to a degree. A text notification would turn display on and worst for me was the phone would ring but answer itself in the pocket or as I moved it pulling it out of pocket. I don't know why but seemed to be worse with certain themes off the theme store. I've noticed that the issue went away when using the default Samsung theme or the 'high_contrast_theme' by Samsung of the few I've tried.
Same here. I had an S7 today did it too. Gotta be a bad sensor or something.
If anyone here uses Textra this setting could help. It was another that was causing my issue. It's been awhile since it has turned on in my pocket but it still happens sometimes. Mostly it brings up my camera.
Sent from my Samsung SM-G955U using XDA Labs
Sorry wrong screenshot. It's the wake up screen setting

This happens on my S8+ frequently it's new with only factory apps and limited changes to default settings. I just called 911 while in my pocket and had to explain my self to am angry dispatcher. Never had this problem with any other galaxy phone.
Thx

Hello Community,
I have a question.
Has anyone noticed the LED Ring around the small outer Display on the Z-Flip?
It only appears briefly when the Device is plugged into Power.
I asked Samsung today how to activate it for Notifications.
They answered with a "thank you for the Idea..." message.
Can one of you experts write a mod to possibly use it as a notification LED? Similar to the Galaxy S10 and S10+ Camera Notch LED?
Thanks in advance for the Feedback.

I just noticed that on the wireless charger. Cool.
This ready yet?
stupid really to not have the possibility to configure the outer display for notifications, I don't want to see the battery % or date and a smaller clock would be enough and then notification icons, in my case I want the outer display being turned off all the time and when a notification arrives it lights up, like how you can configure @Jawomo AOD app.

Note you can see notification on the out display on the Flip
1) Enable edge screen -> edge lighting -> while screen is off and enable for apps that you want to alert
2) for the apps they need to alert as "pop-ups" otherwise it will not show on outer display
shameless demo/plug

for that cool lighting effect to along with the notification info - I am not aware of any way to do this (via public APIs/hacks).

The best thing is to have an application that shows the always active led type notifications, on the external screen.
We hope they can create it.
