Goodmorning. I'm facing a problem with the battery draining. Gsam says "combined app cpu" is using the phone too much. The phone never go to deep sleep state, so the battery go down no matter if the screen is on or off. There's a way to fix it? Or is it a miui issue?

Same issue miui 12
It might be the firmware , i tried every single fix available, but it's a no go.
I guess it will be solved by the next update

After a factory reset with clean install(no backup using google or miui), and 1 day of usage, the problem seems fixed.

Hi I'm having the same issue! Can you confirm that this fixes it?
hope not but im scared just got the phone and used it for a day to put my apps back on miui 11, later updated and seems like my battery went down real quick for no reason..

Unfortunately, I tried it but nothing changed.
For now my fix seems to be disable miui optimizations...
Now it last a day 12-14h with 5h screen on on 3g data.
Got similar issue. Some time it goes into deep sleep, some time not. Decided to root the phone to try fixing it.

Is anyone having an issue since going to the Nexus 5 that FIFA 14 can not ever connect to Origin - wifi, LTE, 3G, whatever? I'm on a clean install, but I previously tried copying over all of the app and data files from my SGS2, where it works fine, but no change in result.
Any idea what's going on? The usual DNS fix doesn't work.

Doesn't work either on a Sony Xperia Z running 4.4. I guess Kitkat is the culprit here.

Yes, the DNS fix doesn't work on KitKat. I had to downgrade my Nexus 7 to JellyBean 4.3 so I can enjoy my game.
Actually now its fixed. I really cant explain why, cause no update was reseased for the app and neither for the operative system itself, but now i can connect to Origin with both wifi and mobile data!

True. The latest Kitkat update may have fixed the problem. However, the display is now larger during a match that I can no longer see most of the pitch on my Nexus 7 like I used to on Jelly Bean.
Hi everyone,
I'm having a very strange problem with my new Nexus 5: I noticed that sometimes (many times every day, to be honest) my phone displayed wrong locations in Google Now. The GPS module seems to work because when I opened Google Maps and checked for my location it found the right position in few seconds, even setting "Device Only" in Location settings.
So, I decided to take a look at my Location History, and here's what I got:
It seems like I've been in Paris, Rawang, Kanpur and Bangkok several times in the past few days, but I never moved from Italy!!!
I think I can exclude the possibility for my Google account to have been hacked, because of the two-steps authentication which should send an SMS to my phone when someone tries to log in.
I've also restored my phone to the default settings and erased my data when I rooted it, but the problem is still there, as it was before rooting it.
Please help :crying: I don't know what to do, and I'd rather not to send my phone back to google because, apart from this issue, it's perfect.

But that won't help me solving my problem... actually my phone finds its right position if it uses the GPS: the issue appears only when Google Now asks for the location (based on the 3G network i suppose).

I'm from Genoa, so I think it's not linked to the network cell we're connected to... I think I'll follow PhilipTD's advice and, if something happens, I'll post here.

Another "coincidence" I guess....
Anyone with quite a few modem knowledge could maybe clear up for us if this issue could potentially happen only on the modem currently used by the nexus 5?

May I also ask you if you use Tasker or if you tried to reboot your phone when the location would fail? For example last night it'd not locate me, or actually it would, saying that I was where I work, but i left work 3 hours earlier and I live 50 km away from it, but after a while trying to get a fix I rebooted the phone and voilà, located I was...
Reminds me of when I was experimenting with intermediate pos in the gps.conf file. I got some drastic errors with positioning. You can check that manually in the file or you can download a great free app called fasterGPS which will show that.
If that's not the case check for recent solar activity online which can cause these kinds of issues.

My situation is slightly different... A reboot doesn't even temporarily solve my problem, and I don't use tasker (though I think I'd get the same location issue with that, like all the application which rely on the cellular network to determine position).

We have specifically said that this is not about the gps, gps positioning is fine.
Now I'm sure: it's a Google Play Services problem.
As a matter of fact, if I delete Play Services' data when the issue pops up, and then swipe to update Google Now, it finds my correct location.

Now I enabled the "always scan" (scansione sempre disponibile) option in advanced WiFi settings and the problem seems to be gone, but I don't want this feature, I'd like WiFi to be really off when I disable it.
Did you have this option switched off, too, when you encountered the location issue?

Hi People,
I have a simple quest:
How can i disable "fast dormancy" on Moto g?
It's not for me
Looking for the same here . I guess there must some option if you have rooted and modify the build, prop file . But I havent rooted yet .
why would you want to turn it off? just want to know

Because in some cities there are old repeaters that not use the fast dormancy; in this case the phone drain a lot of battery waiting informations that don't arrive. Disabling fast dormancy cause problem disappear
Inviato dal mio XT1032 utilizzando Tapatalk
Adding the following to build.prop results in bootloop.
ro.mot.ds.fastdormancy.disable=true
ro.mot.ds.fastdormancy.incall=falseEDIT: Just noticed the 'ds' possibly meaning these settings require Dual-Sim.
I'm sorry man, with the "ds" it works?
Just wondering how it works on this device, and in general as I'm thinking of trying for the first time ever.

I'm using a mi band. It works without any problems. The mi app is ok-ish, unfortunately there is no way of using the mi band with other apps. For the price I'm quite satisfied.
The only problem is that the band seems to drain my battery much faster. I guess bluetooth LE is not fully implemented into the opo rom atm. The phone still survives a full day without problems. But before I was able to pull three days out of the battery when needed. The battery of the band is awesome though. The promised 30 days are not a lie.
Up24 works for me now. Had an issue with Up app messing up my GPS rendering Waze & Google navi inoperable. Downloaded AppOps from Playstore and turned off Up app location services and solved my problem.
Happy tracking.

Hi everybody.
This is my second S7 (I also own a S6 and a S5) and I'm having touch screen issues.
It seems less responsive at the edges sometimes, especially bottom and sides.
I have evidence of this while writing through qwerty, as it's sometimes missing "p", "a", space or caps lock.
This is also happening while trying to delete emails with stock client, as I have to tap several times the trash icon.
Now I own a white S7, previous one was black. Same issue.
Never happening with my S6 and S5.
This is very frustrating.
Anyone else?
mine sometimes does this at the bottom right, but then I can't replicate it. I'm pretty sure it's a software issue bc the entire phone seems much less sensitive to certain touches than my note 4 did.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S7 using Tapatalk
There are lots of apps in the Play Store for testing the touch screen.
Can be also tested Via *#0*# and this confirms my complain

Same issue here. See my thread buried by time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/help/dead-sensitive-horizontal-stripe-screen-t3335987
The sometimes not responding left and right sides are bugging me as well.
Funny (or not so funny) thing is, that i went to some local shops with display units. literally ALL OF THEM had the very same issue, although its difficult to reproduce without a screen protector.
I am forced to use a keyboard with customizable bottom padding in order to properly type (Perfect Keyboard). Did get a replacement for my first and even my second S7, same issue pertains with the third. Is this some kind of mass production issue? if it was software, it should apply to a much larger userbase, right? Or are most people mashing their screens with such force so they dont experience the issue?

Being a guy who has dealt with these type of problems quite a lot. Sorry to say. If your device is still under 7 days of purchase you will get a replacement. If all device of that particular production unit has the same issue, asking for refund will be kind of tough depending upon your dealer. But most dealers around the world deal with these type of problems with a free repair by replacing just the front unit of the device.
If you get a refund by any chance and you still wanna stick with Galaxy S7 as your next device. Try a online dealer. Considering the situation here, my local online dealer is selling the Global version(without warranty) whereas Samsung officially sells the Duos version.
BTW where is your unit made?
Both units from Vietnam. CSC ITV no brand Italy.
I purchased them online so I can opt out within 14 days by law.

It is the first day using the S7 officially. The problem happens a few times today and it is something that does not bother me. It's difficult to happen, but I know it is there (and it is a very expensive gadget).
I don't know if it can be fix with an update. But trying a multitouch test app, if you touch the middle of the screen and then go to this blind spots without taking your finger out off the screen, everything works. No faults.
I'm going to keep it for a while to see what happens.

I think that's a hardware issue because if it was meant to be software it was affecting all devices. I assume there are two or more touch producers or plants, and some of them were faulty.

Any further news on this ?
Hi Guys,
I'm in the same position. Bought my s7 from an online company called becextech. they seemed reputable. reviews were good.
got the phone, and instantly notices how buggy it was for texting/typing. missed presses, space bar not registering, backspace wouldnt always work.
Thought perhaps it was just me. Nope. went back to the s6 and it was perfect.
So i sent the phone back after just 2 days. Spoke to the company via email. Even attached the video that was linked above to show them what was happening.
They replied last week and told me that they couldnt find any problem with it. Which i can't believe. I just KNOW my fingers weren't missing the keys.
It kills me to think that they are going to do everything they can to deny the problem. And I'm going to be stuck with a phone that I dont want to use, and won't be able to get rid of.
Wish I'd never bought the phone
