Tecno Pouvoir 4 [LC7] [UNLOCK BOOTLOADER] [ROOT GUIDE] [STOCK ROM] - Miscellaneous Android Development

Hi
Recently someone sent me a device from Tecno which is not available in Europe. It is Tecno Pouvoir 4 which comes with 3gb ram 32gb rom, 7 inch screen, Mediatek Helio A22, Android 10.
I take no responsibility for your actions and anyone who is willing to follow this guide should know the consequences as well. If you do not know what you are doing, please do not go ahead with this guide.
This is the method that I have tested and works perfectly!
1.Unlock Bootloader > enable oem unlock , usb debugging after turning on developers options from settings
2. Install drivers, Setup adb and fastboot and type :
Code:
adb devices
check if device is connected properly
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
boot into fastboot
Code:
fastboot devices
check if fastboot device connected properly
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
Command to unlock bootloader
press volume up key on screen when prompted. Your device will be unlocked and all date will be lost.
3. Next , I used magisk to patch boot.img from stock rom. The size of boot.img reduced to 9Mb from 32Mb.
Copied it from phone and saved it in PC to flash it to device
Code:
fastboot flash boot nameofboot.img
nameofboot.img will be the name of patched boot image you are using.
Next, I flashed patched vbmeta.img which I made with avbtools in python.
Code:
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Code:
fastboot reboot
The device also contained vbmeta_system and vbmeta_vendor which I initially patched as well but after more testing, flashing modified has no effect on the outcome if bootloader is unlocked.
FILES HERE
Please use the files from folder "FIles Used" which contains
a. vbmeta_disabled_unsigned > This is vbmeta.img
b. magisk_patched_flashed > this is boot.img
vbmeta_disabled_unsigned should work with any future versions as well.
Make sure you have same stock rom version as listed above if you are going ahead with flashing. These files are from "LC7-H6116BCF-Q-GL-200612V304_Signed"
I have also found a full stock rom to recover this device online which I am sharing for anyone who faces a bootloop during this procedure.
STOCK ROM HERE
If anyone really needs the root, flash the above stock rom and then use the files in this guide.
Good Luck!

Anyone who wants more details about patching vbmeta, device partitions or anything about this device , I am more than happy to answer.
I have not been successful to port TWRP for this device yet. As I am not very interested in ROM development or any further development on this device, which needs lots of extensive work, I am not willingly to go ahead with that.

Good evening, what was sent was done and the bootloader was unlocked
But after inserting fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
Which is vbmeta_disabled_unsigned
The phone no longer works and the tecno logo does not appear or enter the fastboot

Hello,
I have a Tecno Spark 4 air (kc6).
I can't find a stock rom. I read that it's possible to "dump" stock rom from a MediaTek Chipset so I can root it, but I don't know how. Can you help me please? thank you

Dear friends, do not tell me about this problem. Once the phone was rooted, but the root is lost. Apparently due to a firmware update. Now it shows this message when loading. Now it's Android 11, with a security update from 03/05/22, HiOS 7.5.0 (OS7.5-R-P31-201030), build LC7-H6116BCF-R-GL-220311V1358.
How to root a phone without losing information? Thank you!

Hello sir,

[GUIDE][HUAWEI]Flash Any Variant & Version of Firmware on Hisilicon Kirin Chip Phones
DESCRIPTION:
Okay Guyz... Today am here with tutorial which you guyz ask for... i.e Flashing any variant or Rom Version of SAME PHONE. You can do this on phones like Honor 4C, Honor 4X, Honor 5C, Honor 5X, Honor 7, Honor 8, Mate 8, P9, P9 Lite and many other with Hisilicon Kirin Chipset
DONT EVER TRY CROSS ROMS i.e ROM OF ONE PHONE ON OTHER PHONE MODEL.
DISCLAIMER:
I will Provide correct info and help......All This you are gonna do is At your Own Risk... Damage to your device of any type is at your Own Responsibility,,, Don't point finger at me or I will Just Laugh at you...
Now you need Unlocked Bootloader for doing this as fastboot work with unlocked bootloader
If you have already Unlocked Bootloader, you may skip all these steps until BOOTLOADER UNLOCK NOW text
PREREQUISTES:
1.) First of all, You should Unlock Bootloader so that fastboot can do its job well with ease (You can unlock bootloader by simple procedure...)
2.) You need the Update.app file which you wanna flash or to shift to that.
PROCEDURE:
FOR UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER, FOLLOW THIS
Go to this site Unlocking Code website or use this if above have some problem or not working, then Use this Website
Login to this site using your Huawei id which you made in themes store or in huawei cloud!!
Use the Serial Number Written on BOX OF YOUR PHONE..!!
Fill like, smartphone>Product Model should be "The one written in your About Phone section"
then fill all fields and captcha also.. Click Submit and get the UNLOCKING CODE....
you can unlock bootloader wid that code then and root permanently....
If your product id is incorrect as website says, then Download the Attached PC Software Named "Huawei Product ID Generator" then Extract this zip file...
Now open it, fill all Info in it and it will Generate a Product ID for your Phone....
After receiving the unlock code, write down the code;
Now go in your Huawei Settings>About Phone.
Then tap on Build number 10 times,,, you will get the Developers options in Last of Settings app. Open Developers option and Turn On the USB DEBUGGING.
Now connect your device to PC in MTP/FILES mode and then install the ADB drivers for it....
To install adb drivers correctly, use the Software Adb Driver Installer from here
LINK FOR ADB DRIVER INSTALLER
Full ADB folder is also attached Below.... put this folder in drive C.
Now Direct the cursor on the folder ADB, hold Shift and the right mouse button and choose "Open Command Window";
connect your phone to the PC in the "media device";
at the command prompt prescribe

then we write
Code:
ADB reboot bootloader

then typed
Code:
fastboot oem unlock ****************
(where the asterisks replace unlock code);
BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED NOW!!
You need to Extract the update.app file to get BOOT, SYSTEM, RECOVERY and CUST Images
For that, Download Huawei Update Extractor tool
And then open update.app file in this tool.
Extract all above mentioned image files and move them to adb folder.
Now you need to format Data and Cache so that it dont mess with new Rom,
for that, go in Stock Recovery by keep pressing Volume Up and Power Button while phone is Switched Off.
When in recovery, wipe cache and data both and then come in fastboot mode without switching on your device.
You can do this by, while phone is Off, keep pressend volume down key and plug in the USB attached to phone.
You are in Fastboot Mode now if you have done all Correctly
Now go in ADB folder and open Command windows as told above.
Now check if you phone is Correctly attached by giving command
Code:
Fastboot devices
you should see a device attached, Now give these commands correctly one by one,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Code:
fastboot flash cust cust.img
Code:
fastboot flash system system.img
wait for this to be done, it will take some mins as file is of 2+GB size.
When done, give command
Code:
fastboot reboot
When phone will reboot, unplug usb and You are Ready to go with your Desired ROM

[GUIDE] Rooting the UMIDIGI S5 Pro | Magisk

EDIT: I attached a zip with AIDA64's reports for this phone. One report has Magisk hidden from AIDA64, the other doesn't.
This mostly a copy of _cab13_'s Rooting the UMI F2 post as the same instructions for rooting that phone are how I rooted the S5 Pro. So please give _cab13_ thanks here if this helped you root your phone. I'll take a thanks for removing the orange state warning if I helped you with that
Please be patient when posting questions, I will get back to you as quickly as I can. I just have many responsibilities which take up a great deal of my time.
Rooting the S5 Pro
Disclaimers
This is important, please read thoughtfully.
whatever you do, NEVER EVER use SP Flash Tool in "Format All+Download" mode. This will wipe your IMEI['s]s and some other bad stuff will happen like loss of fingerprint sensor. This cannot be reversed by us.
Once bootloader is unlocked, warranty is considered void. By following this guide, you consent to that happening. Safety net CTS will not pass anymore unless you flash Magisk which hides the unlocked bootloader.
Never re-lock your bootloader while running anything unofficial as the phone will not boot until you unlock again.
And, once again, a lot of bad things can happen like boot loops, if that happens to you, don't freak out! Simply re-flash the stock ROM, redoing the rooting process from the start. It might be time consuming, but that's your safest bet!
More important even, have fun rooting, it's before all a hobby!

Unlocking Bootloader
ATTENTION!! After unlocking the bootloader, all user data in the phone's memory will be lost, so do not forget to throw all the most important things on your computer or flash drive!
1) Activate "Developer options" through Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number multiple times.
2) Open "Developer options" in Settings > System > Tap Advanced.
Enable "OEM Unlocking" and enter your password to confirm. Enable "USB Debugging" as well.
3) On Windows, download and install Minimal ADB and Fastboot by shimp208
On Linux, use your package manager to install android-tools-adb and android-tools-fastboot
4) Open command prompt (Win + R > type cmd) or a terminal on linux.
5) Plug your phone, accept the prompt about adb and the PC signature.
6) Type adb reboot bootloader to reboot in fastboot mode. Unplug your cable from your phone
and replug it after fastboot is printed at the bottom of the screen.
THESE NEXT TWO STEPS WILL COMPLETELY WIPE YOUR DATA
7) Unlock the bootloader using fastboot flashing unlock and pressing Vol+
8) Unlock the secure partitions using fastboot flashing unlock_critical and pressing Vol+
9) Restart using fastboot reboot
You will now always see "Orange State" at boot; this is completely fine and will only delay your boot by 5 seconds.
Rooting using Magisk patched boot.img
This is "experimental" and is probably overkill, but everyone managed to install Magisk with it.
1) Clean install UMIDIGI_S5Pro_20200702.V3.02 (or the European one) with SPFT by selecting the scatter file, pressing download an rebooting the phone
(Make sure it is in "Download Mode" and not "Format + Download")
2) Patch boot.img by copying it to your device, using Magisk Manager to patch it, and get back the magisk_patched.img in the Download folder back to your PC.
3) Start ADB while booted; run adb reboot bootloader. Alternative is to reboot to recovery and selecting "reboot to bootloader"
4) unlock if not already done with fastboot flashing unlock followed by fastboot flashing unlock_critical
5) In the following code, the vbmeta.img and the recovery.img are the stock files from the ROM you downloaded and extracted.
Code:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash boot magisk_patched.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot reboot
When rebooting, install Magisk Manager. It will prompt to finalize the installation, you can do so.
Congratulations ! You are now a proud Magisk user ! All credits goes to @topjohnwu he's the real MVP here.
Returning to stock / Resolving issues
The best way to resolve any issue is to return to stock. Here is the method.
1) Download latest stock ROM on UMIDIGI's forums
2) Download SP Flash Tool if you don't have it yet (Windows only)
3) Extract stock ROM in SP Flash Tool directory. Refer to Flash Tool guide if needed.
4) Open SP Flash Tool, Download Tab, "Choose" in Scatter-loading file, select the scatter file in the stock ROM directory.
5) If you want to keep your data, untick "userdata" partition. MAKE SURE FORMAT IS NOT SELECTED!
6) Press Download and connect your device via USB. Reboot the phone or turn it off and everything will be flashed.
7) If you want a full stock experience, I recommend relocking the bootloader so that SafetyNet will pass. Get into fastboot mode by using adb reboot bootloader and use fastboot flashing lock_critical followed by fastboot flashing lock. This will wipe your data once more.
You should be good to go.
ONE LAST THING
Get rid of your orange state warning.
Download the attached zip file and extract.
Put your phone into fastboot and:
Code:
fastboot erase lk
fastboot erase lk2
fastboot flash lk lk_patched.img
fastboot flash lk2 lk_patched.img
fastboot reboot
No more orange state warning! Reflash the stock lk before unrooting, though.
ATTACHED LK FILE IS FOR UMIDIGI S5 Pro ONLY.
Thank you for re-posting this as an option to root the S5. I did get stuck on flashing the recovery. I have tried a few times and every time it just flashes orange , restarts and loads normally. I have verified root.
i have used the recovery found here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-rooting-umidigi-s5-pro-magisk-t4151183
I have no success installing TWRP. Do you know if twrp has a recovery that will work?
Hey guys it's me again !
Got some good news : I bought a S5 Pro as well
And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !
I might get into rooting it soon, idk.
Thanks for the shout-out @zerosava

No luck for me finding a custom recovery (twrp or anything else.)
If you have any exp with them, see if you can make the F2's (found in the F2 root thread) work. It SHOULD only need a minumum of tweaking, just to account for the (afaik) slight soc differences. i'm not gonna hold my breath. there seems to be a void when it comes to enthusiasm for this phone. by my serial no, i have the 4832nd phone manufactured. compared to serials ranging from 22000- 189000 for my other umis (f1play, s3pro, f2, power3)
I think I'll try making TWRP soon for it.
The F2 TWRP would not be usable this easily, it's easier to start fresh.
If anyone wants to try, download the sources for the F2 TWRP on my GitHub, then you need to extract the stock kernel and replace the F2's with the S5pro's
root working thanx

hello folks,
This message is not about rooting s5 but rather about downgrading. I posted on the umidigi forum but have not received an answer. So the problem is the new OTA update that they pushed out yesterday. After update I lost 4G connectivity and i am unable to restore it. I want to roll back to the previous update. They have the roms available on the forum and I downloaded one but what I am not sure is can I use SP flash tool to just download the older ROM version on top of the new one?
I see lots of manuals on how to update but how do I safely downgrade?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do a "download only" flash of the "super", " vbmeta_system", and "vbmeta_vendor" partitions only (uncheck all other partitions) from the previous ROM. That should do it.

What precisely stuck you?
There is a new update firmware please make a rooting tutorial on youtube.,
Somebody made a custom TWRP and posted it on here. So if that'll help anyone out and get them to make a tutorial video, that be great. 'Cause I'm reading this over and over again, and I think I can do it, but I'm being very hesitant about it. And it's getting me all frustrated. I had it on "Flash Mode". And when I continued typing it out, it didn't go through and that had me on a raging panic attack. Luckily, it didn't mess up. But now I'm more hesitant. Please make a quick tutorial, doesn't even have to be perfect...

I am able to get FastBoot Mode on my screen (through step 6). I plug the phone back in per directions & I hear the Windows device connected chime.
I type: fastboot flashing unlock in the same cmd window
and I get "<waiting for any device>" in the cmd window and it hangs.
Every few seconds I hear the Windows device disconnected noise, but no device connect chime. This lasts indefinitely.
I repeated step 7 several times with variations with the Vol+ button: pressing first, holding down while pressing enter in cmd window, pushing afterward, holding down afterward, etc. Same results as described above.
Any help available? Should I not unplug my phone from the PC? The F2 directions did not require that.
thanks!

Root Gigaset GS4

Hi guys. Is there any root method for the Gigaset Gs4? Thanks.
Anyone?

i managed to extract the stock boot.img and recovery.img using this guide with some modifications:
How to use Wwr MTK + SP Flash tool to backup Mediatek rom

forum.hovatek.com
things i did different:
i could not preform the ram test to determine the size of emmc_user so i just used a random length(0x3a3e00000) later on WwR told me that emmc_user should be: 0xe8f800000 i used this value to again read the emmc_user region and loaded it into WwR and continued on the rutorial.
now with this information we should be able to patch boot.img using magisk and flash it to our devices to root it.
to flash your device do the following: reboot into fastboot mode (power + volume up and select fastboot) then in a terminal type:
to unlock the bootloader:
fastboot flashing unlock
to flash an image to your device:
fastboot flash <partition> <image>
the stock images and the scatter file will follow
I managed to succesfully root my smartphone using magisk there was a single problem which is the following:
Android verified boot
you need to flash a new vbmeta image
i made my own empty vbmeta image and flashed it now its working and my smartphone is rooted

then flash vbmeta and magisk patched:
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta_disabled.img <- this will flash the new vbmeta file
[ROOT]
fastboot flash boot magisk_patched-23000_tvNQq.img <- this will flash the new boot image
[TWRP]
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img <- this will flash the new recovery image
step 6 :
reboot your phone and reconfigure it
Youre Done!
EDIT: please download the twrp image from the official TWRP site: https://twrp.me/gigaset/gigasetgs4.html
@StarMiner99 as I'm thinking about buying it I'm glad to know it can be rooted.

That's good to hear.
Although if it can be rooted it might be sufficient for me to kill all not needed apps via adb and use Magisk for AFWall+.
Actually I've read about the possibility of a GS version with a better camera so I might wait a while before getting one.
well there arent any unneeded apps

any progress on this?
could i do something to help?
First of all: Thank you very much! Everything has worked so far and the device is rooted.
But I still have one question. How does the device behave when the official updates from Gigaset are installed via OTA? The GS4 reports it would have security updates. Can I install them without losing root privileges? Does anyone already have experience? Thanks in advance!

I have now simply installed the June 2021 update. The good news: It worked. The slightly less good news is that you have to flash the images again. But flashing also works with the latest version and the update check tells that there are no new updates. So it seems to work.

Which recovery do you use?
I've read in their forum that updating doesn't work when on TWRP.

Why are you not just using the LineageOS GSI?
I have LineageOS17.1 running on my GS4 since Feb. without any issues so far.

Here is, what I did: (on your own risk)
As far as i can remember, i did not have any issues.
Step 1: Unlock your device
1. Enable Developer Options: Tap 10x on Build-Number (Setttings -> About the phone -> Build-Number)
2. Enable Bootloader Unlocking -> activate OEM-Unlock option (Settings -> System -> (More) -> Developer-Options)
3. Enable ADB Access -> Enable USB-Debugging / ADB (Settings -> System -> (More) -> Developer-Options)
4. (Set USB-Settings (Message-Center) from "No tx" to "PTP")
5. Connect phone to usb port, grant permissions on phone and check connection with `adb devices`
6. Boot to bootloader: `adb reboot bootloader`
7. Unlock Bootloader: `fastboot flashing unlock`
Step 2: Download GSI
1. Reboot your phone and install Treble Info App
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tk.hack5.treblecheck&hl=en&gl=US)
GS4 should support AB-Partitions
2. Download GSI: https://sourceforge.net/projects/andyyan-gsi/files/
For GS4: treble_arm64_bv*
Step 3: Install GSI
1. Boot to recovery: `adb reboot recovery` or Volume Down + Power
2. Wipe data
3. Wipe cache
4. Enter fastboot
5. Flash GSI: `fastboot flash system <extracted-gsi-image>`
6. Reboot and enjoy
*. (just in case it does not boot, reboot to recovery -> enter fastboot and flash vbmeta: `fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img`)
This vbmeta-image should work (see post #6): https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/vbmeta_disabled-img.5325563/

I-Life s500 spark 5 help unbrick my phone (backed-up) create a .pac file

hello , i bricked my phone last week ,luckily me i have a backup of almost everything, but the problem is i don't know how to restore my backup i'm stuck on a boot-loop and my twrp is not working either (recovery partition got corrupted somehow) please read and guide me
first backup method using partitions backup (from play store work with root) :-
i backed-up every partition i have :-
boot.img miscdata.img wcnmodem.img wfixnv2.img
cache.img prodnv.img wcnruntimenv1.img wmodem.img
fbootlogo.img recovery.img wcnruntimenv2.img wruntimenv1.img
logo.img wcnfixnv1.img wdsp.img wruntimenv2.img
misc.img wcnfixnv2.img wfixnv1.img
(i unchecked system)
Second backup method using adb and backup.zip found in this thread (https://forum.hovatek.com/thread-854-page-8.html)
i got the exact same files as above
my device is a spreadtrum device "SP7731GEA_HD_scx35_sp7731gea_hd_5.1_I-life-S500-FS20160427_S500"
its called "I-Life s500 spark 5" not the "I-Life itel s500"
android 5.1
i'm using spd research tool, i want to make a .pac file to unbrick my device using the above files here's the problem
i realized that i don't have fdl1.bin and fdl2.bin i got them from older build android 4.4.2 from here (https://naijarom.com/life-itell-s500) confirmed working by flashing that rom it works put white screen (display issues not same gpu ...etc)
step 1 ok
step 2 :-
i don't have the following :-
u-boot.bin
u-boot-spl-16k.bin Is there a way to generate those from boot.img? i could use from lower build android 4.4.2 and maybe port it somehow
nvitem.bin which is equivalent to wfixnv1.img & wfixnv2.img
nvitem_wcn.bin equivalent to wcnfixnv1.img & wcnfixnv1.img
first they are spilted , Second not same format should be .bin how to do this??
for system.img i have a full twrp backup for spd tool to read it should be in .img format so i did the following:-
extracted using tar -xf -f system.ext4.win
repacked with dd if="extracted folder" of="new system.img"
now the command "file system.img" shows
system.img: Linux rev 1.0 ext4 filesystem data, UUID=57f8f4bc-abf4-655f-bf67-946fc0f9f25b (extents) (large files)
for the rest of the files i got them and in the right format (checked through "file" command comparing to a extracted .pac file)
please help me find a way to may problem thanks hovatek team for your hard work
NOTE: please don't point me to the firmware file i already found it and its not free and all forums are dead i did alot of research work if anyone interested see the links ALL ARE PAID AND DEAD FOURMS

As executable's name fastboot implies it deals with device's bootloader.
BTW: You boot phone into its bootloader by means of ADB
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot fastboot <- or: adb reboot bootloader
Thank you for this update. i will looking into it.

My understanding of a bootloop is that phone turns on and off again or stuck at the device logo or one can't get past the logo screen. No matter how it appears, at this time device's bootloader is running and on device-side it has started both the ADB and the Fastboot daemons - only Android OS can't get started for whatever reasons.

[GUIDE] Gigaset GS5 (rephone) root with Magisk + unlock bootloader

hello I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this in but I'll be putting together a small guide on how to root the Gigaset GS5the phone I own is called "rephone" it's apparently a sustainable version of the Gigaset GS5 with a removable battery recycled plastic etc etc. But specs wise it is the same as the Gigaset GS5
anyways I did this yesterday so it's possible that I forgot some steps, if you encounter issues feel free to leave a comment and I'll try to assist you
prerequisites:- make sure you actually have this device
- make sure you are on Android 12 (ota update)
- make sure you back up your data
- make sure you read this guide carefully
UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA!!! MAKE SURE TO BACK EVERYTHING UPProceed with caution, I am not responsible for anything that may happen to your phone, you are doing it at your own risk
Easy method (flashing pre-made boot.img) :I would not recommend this method because I extracted the kernel from my rephone and I don't know if the firmware/kernel for that is 1:1 with the GS5, ideally you want to extract the boot.img of your own device but that takes way more time so only proceed with this if you're at a pinch or are too lazy to extract your own boot.img
Also please download CPU-Z on your device and check your Build ID under the System tab, if it matches with mine then feel to proceed with this method, if not then do not proceed and instead extract your own boot.img and patch that
Build ID for my rephone is: 2000_000170_00_12.0_V06_20221025
Set up adb&fastboot on your computer (google 15 second adb installer)
Grab the patched boot.img from my GitHub and copy it to C:/adb or wherever you installed adb&fastboot: https://github.com/astolfoaddict/GigasetGS5-Magisk
Unlock developer options in your phone and enable OEM Unlocking
Power off your device and hold volume up+power until you boot into bootloader
Select and boot into Fastboot Mode, connect device to your computer
At this point you're in fastboot, open CMD in C:/adb
Your bootloader is probably locked, to check run this command: fastboot getvar unlocked if the result is no, your bootloader is locked
To unlock your bootloader run this command and follow the instructions on your device: fastboot flashing unlock (THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DATA)
Once you unlock your bootloader, wipe your vbmeta partition. Follow Method 3 in this guide: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-32719.html
Now flash the boot.img: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Reboot, set up the device, install Magisk Manager and enjoy!
Advanced method (extracting and patching your own boot.img) :In this method we'll be extracting the boot partition from your device so you can patch it with Magisk and flash
Proceed with caution!
Install Mediatek VCOM drivers, follow this guide: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-440.html
Dump your boot_a partition with MTK Client by running python mtk r boot_a boot.img follow this guide: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-40865.html
Install Magisk Manager and patch your boot.img
Unlock bootloader, flash empty vbmeta and boot by following the method above
Important:
- Make sure you run python mtk r boot_a boot.img in MTK Client
- If you don't see Mediatek VCOM drivers in Device Manager after using the auto installer, try installing the drivers manually (check guide)
- Also booting into BROM mode is tricky, what usually works for me is:
Power off device and connect to PC
As it starts up and shows you the battery charge, wait until the screen goes out
At this point you should run the python command in MTK Client
Hold volume down+power and check the terminal
If you want to extract the entire firmware follow this guide: https://www.hovatek.com/forum/thread-21970.html
Be aware that your chipset will not be listed in WwR MTK so what you do is open Template.ini with Notepad++ and add MT6768 under the CPU section, don't worry about the chipset not matching what this phone has (MT6769), adding MT6769 to CPU and exporting scatter file will not let you import it in SP flash tool
Special thanks to axonasif and supremegamers for the guide I pulled most of the stuff out of: https://github.com/supremegamers/mt6769Also thanks to hovatek for their helpful resources regarding MTK flashing/drivers/etc. <3
