Broken accessibility services in MIUI 12? - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Hey guys, I was trying to use my good old pal Nova launcher on my Poco f2 pro (stock, not rooted) and ran into some problems. In order to enable "double tap to sleep" function, I need to enable accessibility service for Nova launcher. It works perfectly, until I clear my recent apps. Then it asks me to enable accessibility service again, but it's already enabled in settings. I tried enabling/disabling the service and it does not make any difference. When I reboot my phone, the service is off and I can enable it and use the double tap, again, until I clear my recent apps... I removed any kind of optimisation for Nova and I'm out of ideas? Any suggestions how to make it work?

Same issue with mine.

did you try to lock nova launcher in recent app list?
did you remove nova launcher from battery optimization?
did you add nova launcher to autostart list?

Hey, thanks for suggestion, I haven't thought about autostart! it's been around 24 hours and it's still working, so I assume the issue is fixed! Thanks man!:good:

Did you manage to fix it? I just got a Note 9 Pro, same issue.

Hi everyone, same issue here with Edge Gestures and MIUI 12.0.2 :-(

Same (or similar) issue with Stock Android 11 and Nova Launcher and Smart Launcher.
Cannot access 'recent apps'

on poco f 2 pro with miui12 /A11...
...the problem of missing taskmanager was fixed after installing last poco app update v 19!
...nova gesture problem is solved after installing app "fluid navigation gesture pro"!
...nova launcher can now be selected as the system launcher without getting more problems if last poco app was installed too.

Huawei Mate 9 Pro not liking Nova Launcher Prime

I have installed and configured the Nova Launcher, primer version, and everything looks fine but the phone keeps resetting to the default launcher.
I have tried changing the default launcher in EMUI and from the settings in Nova Launcher, but it always goes back to the default launcher after a while.
Is anyone else experiencing the same annoying issue? If yes, any suggestions on how to permantly fixed this?
i had the exact same issue when i first installed Nova. So i uninstalled it(just Nova, not Prime) and reinstalled and all is good.
Only if I have some live wallpaper set up and I uninstall it. Then the Nova will crash and emui resets back to original launcher

I'm using nova from the beginning and no issues at all.
I think I've read somewhere that you cannot use Huawei's widget along with nova launcher.
So maybe remove any widget that came with Huawei? Including the time widget.
I used to have this problem until I turned off all the optimisations for nova launcher.

Nova Launcher "add to home screen" function not working

Hi all,
I'm on a Honor 6 L04 with EMUI 4.0 (B860).
My Nova launcher is supposed to add new apps to the homescreen (option is checked) but they only appear on the Huawei launcher. Also if an app tries to add widgets on the homescreen (like chrome or the Google app) it only shows up on the stock launcher.
Does anyone observe the same behavior? What permission does Nova launcher need to have access to the new homescreen widgets?
Thanks, Julian
PS: it works correctly on my tablet with CyanogenMod, so I assume it's an EMUI problem

"Recents" display as stacks, not pages

Evening all.
My recent apps have suddenly decided to display in stack mode, not the swipeable horizontal page mode.
No idea why, don't like it, and haven't found a way to restore/change it back.
Many thanks for any help.
*EDIT* - Solved. I'm using Nova and had frozen the OP launcher in TiBU. Defrosting it (but still keeping Nova as my default launcher) fixed it.
I also use Nova and don't freeze OnePlus Launcher in Titanium Backup just because I want this recents horizontal style. It's a shame Nova doesn't have this feature natively.

Don't freeze/uninstall Oneplus Launcher. Or you could install quickswitch magisk module and install lawnchair change the recents provider to it which will give you back the horizon pages.

Hide apps in app drawef

Hello I have just got my p40 pro and apart from a few apps not working I am so impressed.. One thing is there any way to hide apps in the app drawer? I have gone into home screen settings and can't see any options can anyone help please
You could try Evie Launcher. In this launcher you can hide apps from drawer. Its a stock Android looking launcher, very nice. Though it crashes on my P40 Lite. Its free too.

After Update to Android 11 not able to Install NOVA Launcher.

After Updated to android 11 i am facing the problem for switching Home Launcher. Whenever I try to install the NOVA Launcher At the end of installation, a message box popped out stating "App is not installed". After several tries and re-downloaded and still the same issue.
Before updating (on Android 10) my default launcher was NOVA Launcher Prime, but after update it change to Oneplus Launcher and the NOVA launcher was missing from my App drawer and also in Apps. Please help me to solve the problem.
You could try the Nova Launcher 7 beta, it has some improvements specific to Android 11 :

They're in the Changelogs channel. I'm on Nova 7.0.24, it's had some improvements specific to gesture navigation.
If I remember rightly you need to click certain emojis to unlock channel access when you first visit. Presumably to stop bot flooding.

Is it possible that you may have some residual files from previous install? That may prevent installing nova launcher. Like other reply, I would recommend searching for nova beta version. It feels a little smoother than the stable version on Android 11.
