I tried ... but i cant find anything related to my problem on youtube. The only way i can access battery optimization is by using another app called "ADM" on play store which i use consistenly . I can access by downloading ADM .. ADM needs permission to not use battery optimize when using it. So it will pop up the battery optimize setting . So thats the only way i can access the setting using ADM. But its a little bit troublesome because i need to download to open the setting to use it . If i want to open the setting again i need to uninstall ADM and reinstall the ADM to use the setting again. Which is really tiring me out. So i figured if i ask how to solve the problem here .. maybe i can find the solution that i wanted .

Instead of uninstalling the app then reinstalling, when needed, go to system settings>apps>ADM, on its app info page, select "storage" then clear the cache and clear the data for that app. This should reset the app as if it were freshly installed and should allow you to use it as if were just installed.
I don't understand why there isn't something in your system settings that allows you to access battery optimization. Are you sure that you don't have this in settings? It could be tucked away in a menu that you are overlooking.

I already double checked everything and couldnt find battery optimization. Also when i clear cache/clear data for ADM .. ADM didnt pop up battery optimization . As i said the only way to trigger it is by uninstalling and reinstalling ADM again. I dont know how to solve this problem anymore

Just got Cyanogenmod 10 on my tab and love it. But got a few problems i need to figure out. I still have a problem with apps auto-starting and have used Gemini-app to stop this. But now with the new Cyanogenmood it says that i need to enable USB-debugging. But this option is not possible on my tab. I see the options in settings but they are grey and there is no way to check any box.
Anybody have the same problem???
Ps: Also have problem with youtube-app crashing and a weird thing with XDA site when i start a page here sometimes my utorent-client starts to run.
Im not on the same tab as you but I use Startup manager to kill unwanted apps from starting. Never had any issues with it , free as well.
Startup Manager - Clean up your android system from system startup!
Startup Manager aims at helping disable/enable startup items from system boot for Android devices including smartphones and tablets. To disable an item from system startup, uncheck the application from the list (recheck to restore and it will start again). For other item that do not start with system boot, please use “Customize” to add and enable it to start with system boot.

Try to see the on/off switch in the most up right of screen to enable setting change
About youtube, try delete cash, delete dalvik cash and fix permissions in cwm (no factory reset) if not, so try reflashing gapps again for then try to update youtube via market
If not so try app like tubemate (search google not google play), it is alternative to youtube and allow recording also
Regarding xda try another torrent client or delete cash of xda app and torrent client from setting/apps

Seems that app works. Will try some more. thanx dude
I been trying to search for this problem everywhere but can't come up with a solution for my skyrocket. When trying to install out of market apks I can't click on "install" when in the android installer screen. I can click on cancel but nothing happens when I press on install. Installing apps through google play works fine. When I searched for this problem on google/XDA the common problem seemed to be a third party dimmer app which I don't have. I have very little third party apps. Most are the basic google apps. I'm running CM10 12/28 nightly with apex launcher on AT&T.
I tried rebooting the phone multiple times. I tried stopping multiple running programs. I even disabled jelly bean's dimmer function, but no results.
Here is a list of all my downloaded apps.
Accuweather
AdAway
Adobe AIR/Reader
Angry Birds
Animated weather
Apex Laucher
Apollo
Battery Mix
Brain Age
Google Drive
Dropbox
Facebook
Flashcards+
Gmail
Google Goggles
Google Play Music
Google Play Store
Google Search
Gtasks
JeFit
Jellybean HD
Juice Defender Ultimate
Maps
Facebook Messenger
myAT&T
Rom Manager
Snapchat
Sound search for google Play
SoundHound
SpeedTest
Street View
Temple Run
Twitter
Visual Voicemail
Youtube
Zedge
This is really getting annoying...
Is installing third party apps enabled?

In settings, security are you allowing unknown sources?

Sorry I forgot to include that, yep it was one of the first things I did.
Then I guess use a root file explorer and copy the apps to /data/app then reboot to recovery fix permissions and enjoy

I'm using ES file explorer but I can't find data/app. Under the data file I get this:

You gotta go to the root. Backup a level twice.
Your in /sdcard/data
You needs /data
Its a root level file.

Sorry I'm a noob, how do you "fix permissions" when you're in recovery?

So the android package installer still doesn't work but for some reason the ES file explorer's own installer does. I was finally able to load the apk. ES is so much better than the CM10 file explorer. I'm glad I downloaded it. It's still annoying having to use ES every time I want to download a non-market apk but I guess it will do for now. Also it always goes to android package installer when trying to update non market apps which is pretty annoying. Any ideas as to why the android package installer still isn't working?
Thanks for your help.

Honestly, sounds to me like maybe you have another app that's set as default for APKs. I would go through Settings>Apps>All and try to identify an app that looks like it may be responsible for handling APK files and clear the defaults on it. Maybe a virus scanner?

I don't have a virus scanner. There aren't really any other apps that look suspicious to me. I really have no idea.

Don't get hung up on the virus scanner part of the previous post. Go to Settings > Apps > All and click on Package Installer. See if there's any data, cache, or defaults you could clear for it. Then you could always try wiping cache and dalvik in recovery along with the fixing of permissions as suggested.

There was no data, cache or defaults to clear. Tried wiping cache and dalvik and fixed the permissions again. Package installer still doesn't let me click on "install". THIS IS SO ANNOYING.

Yep, rooted running recent CM10 nightlies.
there is an app that is preventing the installer from running, by looking at your list of installed apps start turning off juice defender, battery mix or any other bat app, if not those ones then its an app thats running, so you need to do it one by one and see which app is preventing the installer from running,
I believe this has something to do with apps that use a screen overlay. For me, it was screen filter that would block the button. As soon as I disabled, it was good.

Battery Mix was the culprit good call vincom. I'm surprised though never had this problem before I rooted, must have something to do with Jelly Bean. It's too bad I really like Battery Mix too. I don't understand why this happens.
i was having a problem with cracked next launcher on my mobile that tells me that my app wasn't original.
so i tried searching for an app to edit app permissions and stop it from accessing internet.
i found this program on store it's called LBE privacy guard.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lbe.security.lite&feature=search_result
i installed it and start editing other apps that i dont want it to access internet
my battery is about 76% now and i passed 26 hours with moderat usage!!!!!
Try it and tell me about your impression please?
AW: more than 2x battery saving!! try it

Plain and simple:
Standard: App starts periodical internet check -> Acces radio -> send signals -> receive signals -> waste energy
Now: App starts periodical internet check -> Access denied -> energy saved
You actually know, that sending electrical signals over the air needs a pretty lot of energy?
But as far as I know, LBE Security Master is even better and available here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1422479
As far as I know, the way that next launcher finds that you're using cracked one is not accessing internet, it's the license verification that it gets from play store app, am I wrong?

as (fusel wusel) said u save energy by not giving (apps u dont use) access to internet...

Hi everyone,
I had a headache yesterday with an app called Zombie tsunami, from time to time it started downloading directly from the Play store without even asking me, I had to clear Chrome data to get rid of it, maybe some javascript, that started this process automatically, clearing cache wasn't enough... I don't remember the website I browsed, but it really suck, I have a Nexus 4 on 4.4.2 Stock.
Did anyone else had a problem like that?
Is there a way to prevent this?

Uninstall the application! Or change "permissions" or use a "firewall" to block internet access.
I did it

I did that, but after I uninstalled, once in a while it started downloading and the notification icon appear, I noticed some sites were showing a confirm dialog to download mobogenie, and this zombie tsunami is also from a mobogenie company.

If ur not using The Google search or Google now then Uninstall/remove them..
Can you not disable background data for Google Search in the list of apps using mobile data under Settings - Data Usage? That's what I do. (Android 4.4.4)
I don't know why Google Search needs to use background data, but I presume that it's yet another example of Google casually spending your mobile data capacity for trivial reasons. In this case it's probably using your location and recent activity to pre-fetch information that would be used to optimize your searches.
