I don't think this is a general Android Auto issue, as I've not experienced it with my other Android devices (LG V50, Nexus 5X) before. I recently got a OnePlus 8 (from Sprint, which as I understand it is the T-Mobile variant - model IN2017), and when I use it with Android Auto, if I let the screen lock on its own, I can't tap on anything on my radio screen (Kenwood DDX-6706S) - but it does respond to swipe/scroll. If I unlock the phone, it works fine again, or if I lock the screen with the power button rather than letting it time out, I have no issues at all. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hi everyone,
I have been a proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy Note for around 10 days now. The phone is awesome, the screen a total delight.
however, I am facing some issues.
1. At times, which is frequent, the phone just gets out of the app I might be in, and returns to the home screen on its own. This is not specific to any particular application. Suddenly, it's as if some invisible finger has pressed the back key and the app shuts down and I'm back on the home screen.
2. The default torch app on the phone works 4 times out of 10. Other times,I click it with no response.
Please let me know if there is a fix to this. I'm currently on version 2.3.6
did u trying rooting and flashing a custom rom? this is the easiest and first solution that comes to mind.
Hello,
When I heard that Cyanogenmod was officially released for the Moto G today, I immediately went ahead and installed it.
I can't tell when exactly this started, but I cannot lock the phone anymore and the phone won't sleep at all. The display is always on. The phone will lock itself after a while but never turn to sleep mode.
It did work in the beginning though. All I have done is install some apps. Only one app has been granted root access (Adaway).
How can I fix this? Where do you look for solutions?
Ugh, I give up. I appears as if my phone is broken.
It doesn't boot anymore. The screen is black and there's no feedback when I boot. No matter if the phone is attached to a power source or not...
Hi all,
When I'm using my month old Nexus 5 it will just randomly kick me back to the lock screen, sometimes I can just unlock it and keep on trucking but sometimes it will just immediately lock again or it will work for a couple of seconds and then re-lock. Once its in this state even a reboot doesn't always help and about the only thing I can do is get into recovery mode and re-flash it again. I used the Sensor Box app and have noticed that the light sensor is always reading zero, and I'm not sure if this is part of the issue?
This was happening on the PA Alpha, Stock 5.0.1 and since I was still having the issue I flashed back to 4.4.
The weird thing is that my phone had been fine for the 3 weeks or so I had it before hand. I flashed lollipop on it less than an hour after I took it out of the box and it had been running smoothly up until yesterday.
So a few questions:
Is there anything I can try to fix ir?
Can I use debugging to see what is causing the screen to lock?
Is this likely to be a hardware issue?
If it is, is there anything I will need to do to make sure I keep my warranty?
Any help is very much appreciated.
Bump with some other information:
I don't think its the light sensor, I tried using the phone in a pitch black room last night and the same thing was constantly happening, there was something else odd happening though.
From the restore of 4.4 I was on the "Select language" screen, whilst I could swipe and roll the various language options up and down the moment I presses "Next" the phone locked, if I left the phone on this screen eventually the screen would automatically lock and then it would keep locking itself constantly again.
Also, just for total clarification by "lock" I meaning "return to lock screen" not freeze up and become unresponsive.
My wife and I got a couple pixels back on black Friday, they've both been great. My wife switched from Apple so she enjoys pointing out all the things she doesn't like. She recently found one thing I can't explain. This works on both of our phones.
1. Phone locked, screen off
2. Press power button on side of phone. Phone goes to PIN unlock screen.
3. Try (unsuccessfully) to unlock using fingerprint scanner with an indirect finger. Use you pinky or whatever finger isn't loaded in your system yet
4. Message appears saying you've failed too many times, try again later
5. Swipe screen up.
6. Phone unlocks. Without ever entering your PIN!
Can anybody else repeat this? Google support chat is no help. I was told that if a factory reset doesn't solve the problem I would have to send the phones in for replacements.
Maybe you have smart unlock set up?
Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
Mine doesn't do that. Swipe up after failing fingerprint gets me to PIN.
Smart lock
I have smart lock set to keep my phone unlocked at home, in my wife's car and when I have a set of ear buds connected. Neither of those three were near or connected when I tested this thoroughly last night at dinner and this morning at work
Mine doesn't do that. I have smart lock for my blue tooth devices.
My pixel does not do this,I get asked for my pin
Nope, I can't recreate this without smart lock being on. What happens if you just press the power button and then swipe up?
If you do your test in your home, it's normal to stay unlocked since you are in SAFE UNLOCK in your house.
My Mi5 is facing a weird issue. Have jotted down all details below. Has anyone else faced this issue? What is the fix? Please help!
1. The phone works fine as long as the screen is on. It does not hang or face any issues.
2. After locking the phone, the screen does not come on (this happens sometimes not always). It always happens when I leave the phone un-touched for a while. The phone remains on (I can hear the lock sounds, phone ringing and also see the keypad lights) however the screen does not come on. I need to wait for a long time for it to work after multiple presses of the unlock button or I need to restart the phone.
3. I do not think it is a screen issue because it works when on. I think it is the 'sleep of death' issue.
4. I have reset the phone. I have re-loaded the global MiUI 8 ROM and also tried loading the developer rom. I have not rooted the phone so far. Happy to do it if needed.
5. The issue does not happen if I have the music player on and lock the screen. It tends to happen only when the phone goes totally to sleep with no applications using it in the background.
Please let me know what I can do to fix the issue.
Thanks.
