How To Guide Redmi 8A (DUAL) Questions , Rooting and Unlockbootloader - Xiaomi Redmi 8A Dual

Hello guys,
Unlock Bootloader so how can we unlock bootloader ?
Ans: if you're above May security patch you may not able to unlock your bootloader so wait for Aug update that's only solution. How can we so confident about this because we are also having such problems. if you're in May security patch we strongly suggest you that don't update it first unlock bootloader if you want to only."And remember unlocking bootloader void your warranty"
How to Root Redmi 8A (DUAL) ?
Ans: Here is Link for Magisk Download it from here
Do we have any custom roms for this device yet ?
Ans: As of now there is no devlopment regarding about this. But expect new rom's from source soon. if you really want to get rid MIUI and use custom roms there are some GSI's for to use. But remember these GSI's have some bugs so live with it.
Does 8A and 8A (DUAL) both devices same ?
Ans:No it's not same. These two devices are similar but not same. Don't Install 8A stuff in 8A (DUAL) doing so will may brick your device. Everything you do is on your own.
Do we have any TWRP or any other custom recovery's ?
Ans: At present we don't have no such thing but some told that twrp from 8A working but not sure. Future we will update once. IF find any.

Does this will support 64bit os(ROM) because some apps likes gcam doesnot install at all and some games crashes too ..

I got answer , redmi 8a dual has a architecture of ARMV7l it's a 32 bit , after v7 only 64 bit araised so no to 64 bit on 8Adual

bootloader is not unlocking , mi account not adding in unlock status , it says basic device data verification failed , i am on august security patch also ,
here is the issue video - https://streamable.com/vvflp0
this is very frustrating

First , its not unlocking on August update., I tried .
And for your issue , pleas check the mobile number what is registered with mi account then make sure that same number sim card is plugged into device if all answer are right then also u face the same issue try using that single sim card which is registered and use that mobile data. And also check your mi account for list of devices and make sure that there is only one device that is 8A dual to be unlocked..

Question about Fastboot + Miflash + Unlocked Bootloader using unofficial method!

Hello everyone!
I bought a mi 4c from gearbest which came with a custom\unofficial possibly full bloatware rom, because of this i decided to install the last version of miui for mi 4c from xiaomi.eu! To do this i had to unlock my bootloader, yes my bootloader was looked because before i thought about xiaomi.eu rom, i had installed the lastest stable chinese rom by using the rom updater which i think that it looked the bootloader when i did this. I don't know if the bootloader was looked or not while i had that custom rom on the phone because i did not check it.
So my bootloader was looked and i wanted to install TWR to install the xiaomi.eu rom because of the international support and because of google services and play store which i had tried to install in the chinese stable rom but i had failed miserably to do so! So i want to install TWR but i did not want to wait for the sms with the code to unlock my phone because i had read people complaining that the code takes a long time to arrive and etc! So to solve my problem i used this unofficial way to unlock my bootloader -> http://en.miui.com/thread-247961-1-1.html <- which worked and i got my bootloader unlock, installed TWR and the lasted xiaomi.eu rom for mi 4c
/\ I regret using the unofficial method to unlock my phone, because two days later o got the sms with the code Haste is the enemy of perfection!
But now i want to go back to stable chinese rom because my phone is overheating and throttling a lot and also the GPS works really bad which it did not on the chinese rom!
Now for the doubts:
1 - If i use Fastboot + Miflash to flash the last stable chinese rom, is there the risk of bricking my phone? Because of the way i had unlocked my bootloader i mean?
2 - Is there way to lock the bootloader again, so i can unlock it the right way? I mean using mi unlock and the code that i've received? It will make any difference using the official way in relation to the unofficial way, it will be worth it i mean?
1. only risk is you have a power blackout
2. you can, fastboot oem lock
Hi! Please I really need your experience
I will receive my new Mi 4c with the Bootloader Unlocked from the re seller , Rooted and with Multi language ROM.
Do I have to unlock the bootloader with the official method (which means flashing Cina Dev ROM -to re lock the bootloader- and go on with the Xiaomi's code procedure..) or it is possible to get all things done as soon I get my device by choosing an unofficial weekly miui.eu international ROM and install it normally from the Updater app but also be able to update it every week via Updater without issues?
My problem with flashing is that I don't have my laptop and the one I have now runs win xp.

1. i suppose no, it will only brick if you have TWRP recovery flashed to recovery partition. My workaround is to never flash TWRP in the first place, but boot to TWRP from Fastboot every time i want to flash something. definitely a hassle but should be guaranteed to work. Never tried though, i am fine with CM ROM and unlocked bootloader.
2. If i read correctly, the latest dev ROM will lock the bootloader back. So if you want to unlock, you must flash the old MIUI version as suggested in the unofficial unlock method again.

you can unlock via unofficial method. Win XP should be able to flash it. CMIIW though
Thanks but it's not necessary anymore ..I've changed the Mi4c with Mi4.

Qualcomm EDL - Could this be the point of entry to Root and/or BL Unlock?

Found this series of blog posts that describe the Emergency Download Mode (EDL) on Qualcomm-based mobile devices.
This thread was made for us to discuss the possibilities around this mode and what benefits could we achieve for our phones.
I have not read them completely yet, but there is a mention of a Secure Boot bypass exploit against a Nokia 6.
xiomi EDL mode does allow to PUSH Twrp after altering the FASTBOOT ROM,
if Nokia is providing Fastboot roms then may be!
it doesn't unlock the bootloader! its just push Twrp so that you can flash modes to disable dm varity and magisk

Yes, it works but on Nokia5 and Nokia6 models only. Most of newer models does not switch to EDL mode. The question is still open: how to downgrade October SP to July to have ability of bootloader unlocking and rooting?

You have some choice to downgrade
Flash firmware via ost tool,ntool
Flash system via fastboot
If want root... Can use patch boot of trisi... Now nokia 8 more easier

I have no choice because I have updated to Oct. SP, my boot is locked and no possibility to roll back or atleast unlock bootloader. So EDL - is the only way to roll back to happy times with the root, freedom and customizing.

Before July update, YOU got unlock.key,
Then after septemer+ , before Pie-version, did you trie to get the second bootloader-unlock.key? because they changed bootloader? and also I am not sure if they givve away again from oreo and officail app a new unlock.key?
I don't dear to try out, fearing not getting anymore unlock-keys from hmd, need to secure more information.
I am trying to get a new key via official app but it is telling me that google play service isn't installed, although I downloaded open_gapps-arm64-8.0-pico-20190327 and was flashed via twrp and restored to original stock and still the official app is complaining about no play services when I am logged in to google-account inside the phone.
FYI: I donwngraded to oreo 8.0 and for experiment purpose I am trying to test if I will get a new key.
Thank you for replying. My problems are now gone, because I have recieved an official new bootloader unlock key. Now I have 2 keys for old and for new firmwares, so now I can flash anything I want with no fear . I downgraded to Android 7.1.1 and dont want to update any more. Now waiting for custom ROMs.

Note 7 pro downgrade

Hi Experts,
I have Redmi note 7 pro.I experienced the earlier update 10.3.10 draining my battery too fast. Then I received 10.0.3.12 I think its al right but 10.0.3.7 was best battery backup. So i decided to go back for same
. I tried with service center they failed to downgrade. They said its impossible to downgrade it will brick my device. My mi account have boot loader unlocked with another device redmi 3s prime. I logged in with same account. Will it unlock my note 7 pro bootloader?or is it safe to downgrade? I heard about anti-rollback feature.what should I do?
Its my 1st xda post hope get reply
You can downgrade by unlocking bootloader & then download platform tools (google & download) & extract it to c drive & then extract fastboot rom into same folder & then put your phone in fastboot mode & run the file named flashall.bat & you will be able to downgrade

To downgrade u would first need to unlock the bootloader, install TWRP, clear all the partitions (virtually making sure that only thing left on the phone is recovery) and then flash the respective Recovery ROM.
Use Peter's TWRP for this.
please make a video

How can I root my MIUI11 Redmi 8A dual without unlocking bootloader?

Hello all xda members,
I am not new in rooting. I was rooting my phone since 2014. When KitKat and lollipop introduced. After I purchased the new redmi 8A dual, it's impossible to root with kingoroot and with others. So, I googled how to root Android 10 miui11. I found there is an app called magisk. So I installed it. Now, I searched more, I found that I have to unlock my bootloader in order to install custom recovery. I really don't wanna unlock my bootloader and custom recovery. I just wanna root for temporarily because I need to convert some application to sys apps.
Now,
I found that people doing another magisk way to root and is called 'patching boot image', . I patched my boot image and download the platform tool. Now, I am completely puzzled because I don't know what to do next! Some are saying I have unlock bootloader and some are rooting without unlocking bootloader.
If by patching boot image root is possible without bootloader then could you please write the steps! I am completely noob in magisk line.
Or,
Is there any way to root MIUI11 without unlocking bootloader? I really don't wanna loss my data.
Thanks for reading!

Your only chance of rooting without unlocking bootloader is to find a universal rooting app or PC program that has an exploit that works on your device. But, I doubt that there is an app or PC program that can root your device, those stopped working on devices with android versions newer than Marshmallow.

Poco X3 NFC revert to original settings

Hi peeps. I'm planning on selling my Poco X3 NFC (Surya). The phone's bootloader is unlocked, I have OrangeFox recovery flashed along with Xiaomi.eu rom and the phone is rooted with magisk installed. How would I get rid of all of this and flash a stable version of MIUI. Is it also possible to lock the bootloader so the buyer doesn't know that I tinkered with the phone.
Thanks.

I won't be able to give you detailed support about this because i'm traveling rn. I have answered this question in this thread. The method I described there uses fastboot and not MIflashtool or whatever other tool. Do pay attention to these requirements:
Make sure to download the Original Firmware version that came with your device, pay attention to the correct Region as well i.e. european or russian and so forth.
Flash it without locking first, boot up your device and test the waters, see if everything works correctly.
Do not lock your device with custom binary installed such as a custom recovery or system modifications.
Good luck
