Hey guys, I have a weird problem with some photos that come out of the stock camera app. When I look at them on the stock gallery app it shows as a normal 16 MP photo. However, when I look at it on a google photos app it shows only as a 0,7 MP photo. These photos also upload to the Google photos cloud as 0,7 MP which is unusable. Have you experienced any similar stuff?
Isn't that normal if you want unlimited free photo storage on Google photos?

Click to collapse
Hm, no. Google Photos offers free unlimited storage up to 16MP normally. So it shouldn't do that..
Also that's only for content uploaded to the Google Photos cloud. He should still be able to see the full resolution in the app if he kept the original photo.
Just a quick disclaimer, I am able to see full resolution photos in stock gallery app, not the Google photos app. And it does not happen to the pics I take with GCam, they are being backed up correctly.
thats not the case for me
if i make a photo on stock cam and its displayed as 3-5MB in Google Photos
If i take the photo with 64mp camera it uploads as 0.7 but if i just use the "photo" option on camera app it uploads it as 16.1mp

I use Photos as my primary pictures app and I noticed when I rotate a photo in the cameras section and then save the new orientation, it won't show the new orientation just the original one. I went to QuickPic and it shows both photos.
Google Photos can display photos from Google+ but it seems to show them in order (latest first). Since I have over 15,000 photos on Google+, I was hoping it would be random so I don't see the same photos every time Daydream starts.
Photo Frame only uses photos on the device.
Photo Table only uses photos on the device.
Any suggestions?
Is there any way to set the photo viewer (when pressed in the camera app) showing photos that are taken from the camera only?
The photo viewer shows all photos accessed by the phone in chronological order. It is annoying that I capture phone screen frequently and the camera apps shows the screenshot also within the camera.
Can expect disaster will happen if I download some porn photos and forget to delete
Ok guys so here is the situation. Got a new phone (Moto X Play). I want to know the best Free way for Auto Photo and Video backup so that i don't loose them(it used to be a frequent scenario in my previous device). I googled a lot and ended up with Having Google photos and Flickr installed. Google photos backs up videos too but the photos are of only 16mp (max) but my camera can take 21mp pics so google photos isn't the best choice. While flickr offers photo backup with no restrictions the Video Backup is restricted to max 3 minutes. So i think having both of them at the same time is pretty useless and considering the battery drain and bandwidth charges(I live in India). I also have 200gig of free Onedrive Space(Some giveaway).. So should i use onedrive for backing up? But the problem is onedrive's android app is extremely limited and doesn't offer much options. And there is also no option in google photos to backup up only videos... So what do you guys suggest? (Ondrive only or Flickr with some other service or flickr and google photos or..?).
Hi,
I came from an old LG G3 but before that one I used to have the Nexus 4.
With Google Camera i was able to shoot photos and then watching them with the old Google (Stock) Gallery found in Nexus 4. That app allowed to watch such images rotating and tilting the phone and even creating small pianets.
Now on my Oneplus 6 I was trying the GCam port and I was shooting some photosphere but... In the stock Oneplus gallery I can't see them in other ways except on a single rectangular image. So I tried Google Photos (that I thougth it was the successor of Google Gallery) but even with Google Photos I cannot see photosphere in a good way.
How can i watch them rotating and tilting the phone, or creating planets from image etc like we used to do back in the years?
Thanks
Google photos allows you to do this if you click the compass in the lower left.
No it don't.. Maybe GCam mod don't "mark" the photo as photosphere?
You can view them with the original apk or maybe google photos
