[SOLVED] Can't sign in to Amazon app store

Just got my HOX today and can't figure out why I can't sign on to the Amazon app store. I downloaded the latest apk from Amazon and it installs fine but it gives me a "please enter a valid email and password" message every time I try to sign in. I even went through the lost password wizard and changed it with the same result. WTF?
Known issue? Something wrong with Amazon? An I am idiot?

Just downloaded it today. Works fine for me on WiFi. Got it logged in and everything.
If you're on mobile try logging in when on WiFi, if you're on WiFi try logging in when only connected to mobile. I used to have some weird problems like that.

go to amazon.com, login, go to devices and deregister all your devices. Once you hit like 20+ it wont allow you to sign in anymore. Its stupid really, but w/e. Its a common problem for flashaholics like myself.

That was it, thanks! I never would have figured it out on my own. Could Amazon not write an appropriate error message so their customers know what's going on?
By the way, I counted and number is 25.

Nike + Running app

Hi
The Nike Running+ app on my samsung galaxy s6 edge has updated to "Nike+ run Club"
So now the watch will not connect to Nikes' "Running +" app om my gear S2. My watch says " install Nike + Running, log in and start runnning.
This happened after I updated phone app.
Anyone else has this problem? I cannot find and update for my Gear S2!
So nowI cannot sync my runs from watch to phone..

I have the same issue. Keeps wanting me to install nike+ on my phone which is already there. Tried u installing and reinstalling but no change. Given Nike+ isnt eve in the Samsung appstore for the S2, I doubt we will see an update to the watch app until there is a firmware update. Big fail IMO as this was the only running app available for the S2.

Has anyone got this to work yet? Miss not having run tracking on my wrist.

The Nike+ app was as buggy as anything in my honest opinion over the last few firmware updates. No new features. It just got worse and worse. The last firmware update brought some improvements but it would appears more new bugs with it too. As I see it, Samsung's strategy is to move everyone away from Nike+ and attract more people to their own "in-house" tracking app being the S Health program. Just look at how S Health has evolved over the last few updates compared to the orphaned Nike+ app. I guess Samsung just wants the name in there to suck in as much money as possible. Moving consumers from a big name they know and trust to an in-house brand is difficult though.
I would have thought that since these wearable devices are non-essential that they would be pouring more resources into getting them working right and keeping it that way with improvements on top to keep a polished reputation and attract more customers in the long run. Have you noticed that Ebay for Gear S2 has been pulled out too?
What are your thoughts?

I will have to give S-Health another try. Never found it as accurate as others as it bases (or based) distances on step counts. Wish the major players like MapMyRun, Runtastic, RunKeeper would develop apps for Tizen. Fingers crossed with the S3 now announced, that these players will be more likely to consider it.

The Nike Running App is now totally orphaned. Nike have updated their mobile phone app and have made it totally incompatible as a result. Try firing up your Nike+ app now. It will advise you to install the Nike app on your phone, even though it's already installed. Therefore, we now have one integrated, uninstallable, orphaned useless fitness app on our flagship Samsung Smartwatch and another featured app, the 'Ebay for gear' which has been discontinued before the release of the next flagship. Anyway, you already knew that, my point was, that I checked on the Nike Support Twitter stream and saw that other people like us who own this watch are asking Nike to give us some information about where to go from here. Nike support simply say they are passing on our expression of interest onto their appropriate department. No commitment from their side really at all. It's all rather disappointing.

Nike has a brand new special edition Apple watch out today. I'm sure Apple made them sign an exclusive deal, so they had to kill support for the gear. What else could explain the sudden death of the app? What a waste. What really bugs me is that Endomondo had an app for the gear 2 (all Tizen friendly and everything), but they haven't ported it to the S2, even if you subscribe. So lame. Glad I kept that old watch around.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw was watching the keynote today too. What a shame.... For now, I have just installed the old .apk prior to the NCR verison and it's working again.

How do you find/install old versions of apps? Do you have to flash a new ROM? I'm kind of a n00b in that respect.

There are all sorts of apk mirror sites, google around a bit for reputable ones and you should be able to find it pretty easily. I did a side by side comparison running with a friend and did find that Nike + isn't all that accurate on my watch. It was off by a good 1/4 mile, maybe just the GPS on my watch?

What GPS? How did you get GPS? I heard a rumor or two that the Korean version got it but no one else.

The 3G version of the watch has built in GPS as well.

Since the last update, the app still doesnt work.

ANd the new app Nike Run Club (even last version 2.2.1) is too buggy ! (No connection mith Gear S2, music stop, no coment, screen off, etc. And nike remains deaf to customer reviews that detect all the same bugs)
So a download the 1.6 version on APK Mirror and, it works.
I'm looking for another app to replace nike run club, and that could retrieve all my races, any idea ?

What the heck is wrong with this people. First we lost the Samsung Milk, Now Nike Running. What do they want? Sell the gear s and do not use anymore? So stupid new generation software engineering thats basicly what it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for the info it workd now. But how much education you need to coordinate this with samsung? Either do not push the updates if you know Samsung watches will not work, or say something.
Basicly they do not care about the watch owner and they say, hey we have.more individual app owners than watch owner so lets push the updates

only asking because like Steve Jobs said "great artists steal". you can always grab a famous but clearly disfunctional or outdated app and say "this is how it should be", and who knows, you might even sell it to the company youre helping

in end it look like a 8 to 10 month project.
i just want tit look like i have made something and it appreciated in the last....... and something new is also be completed in the project... which is problem solving

not sure i understood that, but what kind of apps do you use that you like?

Low Temperature when Charging

I know this is one of those beaten to a pulp topics, but i am curious about this situation.
I took my phone in to a private business and they were unable to repair it.
So, i am currently able to charge it by placing it on my warm laptop and topped off with a snuggle blanky Canadian toque. If that had failed i do have genuine Saskatchewan seal skin bindings.
Am i doing the device harm is what i really want to know. It'll charge, and the battery performs very well. It mostly bothers me that i cannot use the toque during charging.
But as asked earlier, is this a bad idea?

That's what i figured. I'm not replacing the motherboard or really going to do anything that costs a lot. I'll just use it as such until i'm offered a new phone in a couple months. I will then probably donate it to someone on XDA. But i doubt anyone would bother without access to my laptop and mysterious toque method.

neither actually, i saw it as toe-kay. but it seems that its toke

Nice. The device also has no functioning back/recents but works quite well with the XDA navbar. And a crack in the screen that does not have any impact on functionality. It's not all that attractive. Running my version of the firmware extremely well though :laugh:

Can you filter out GMS based Apps from PetalSearch results?

Got my hands on the P40 Pro last Tuesday - the hardware is undoubtedly gorgeous and I've managed to get 99% of my Apps working...
I read you can use PetalSearch from the AppGallery to source Apps from multiple different sources. However, there's been a few times when I've been overjoyed to find an APK, but left dissapointed once downloaded, as they've been GMS based. Insight Timer is one example...
Anyway to filter these out to make finding my top App APKs easier? (HMS)

Well Huawei have a 4 layer security so when you install from Petal search it does scan and check that the app is secure, How are you getting on with the phone?

It's not so much the security, I'll find an APK via PetalSearch, download it, and it's a GMS based App so still doesn't work... There's gotta be a way to filter out what will and wont work, right?

App gallery has meditation apps in it or petal search will no doubt have many others to pick from that are not GMS. For me it's all about understanding that HMS has alternatives to GMS based applications. I haven't really found anything I can do on the phone. Is there anything else you've had difficulty with?

To be fair, I was pretty impressed with what went across via PhoneClone the first time! The meditation apps available from AppGallery are pretty naff at the moment, HOWEVER I've just used PhoneClone for a second time to bring Calm across... Can confirm it DOES work - It's more popular than Insight Timer, so maybe I'll stop being a little app hipster and get with the times

I think phone clone is the saving grace for Huawei, it does near enough all the leg work!

I am trying to get used to petal search now. I've found it really good so far. I haven't had any experience of apps not working via it yet?

haha, i have heard of Calm before, apparently its good if your in to that sort of thing. Im glad you've found a work around for this app. How are you finding the phone?

petal search is probably the best thing to use for all apps, everything you need should be on there with no issues.

not quite sure what you are asking but if its whether its realisable, its been spot on for me :good:

From my use you cant filter them out however it does say before clicking an app that it may not work which suggests it may be GMS based.

I've been using it for a few days now and i feel that it is pretty good. Most things i have not have any issues with, You might get a message saying that you cannot use it without google services. Then it still works any way.

I agree this is my concern shall we say I use Power Director App for work quite a lot and got excited to say the least when I saw it was available on Petal Search but once downloaded the app itself does not load and reboots to the home screen, no bigger for now as I am WFH but will eventually need.

it does give you a heads up if the app is not compatible

What's strange is I actually searched for it on Petal, then thought why not double check AG.... was surprised to see it! Hopefully Huawei has more app releases up their sleeves!
