hi,
I'm owner of OP8 Pro and yes, also my device has the famous black bar issue (dark horizontal bar from punch hole). It is noticeable only on low brightness (~10%) in a dark room and on certain backgrounds only.
Also certain colors (different shades of gray...) are rendered pretty strange at very low brightness.
Truth being told, this is not something I can notice during normal use (I anyway like to have bright screen, even in darker environments) and othewise the screen is fantastic, but it bothers me just knowing the issues are there
Anyhow, today is the last day of my 15 day-no-questions-asked return window and I'm still thinking whether to return OP8 Pro and go with Find X2 pro or not.
So inputs from Find owners how your screen behaves would be highly appreciated.
thanks!
My screen is perfect on find X2 pro especially with 1B colours
They aren't even in the same league, the configuration and tuning Oppo put in to the display is above and beyond amazing.

The OPPO Find X2 Pro has the best display of any smartphone I've ever used.
I have black crush issues on my Find X2 Pro. It's not major, but I see straight lines from top to bottom on gray backgrounds, and from the punchhole. Green tint when DC Dimming is off. Only with low brightness ofcourse.
im coming from s20+ to oppo x2 pro
while the screen is good i cant help feeling the s20 is punchier
i tried changing screen setting to vivid but is still too washed out
the white is very strong vs samsung that is dimmer
i think samsung also uses a antiglaring tech that makes their phones a bit darker
either way - i wasnt blown away and i find the options to calibrate the colour very basic

Suppose it's down to preference & opinions which I'm respectful of, however just to weight in, I feel Oppo restricted the colour calibrations so much because they put so much time & effort in to it themselves, for me, it's the best out right now, at a push, top 3 out.
I came from Samsung note 9 and the screen on Samsung displays is more punchier as it more vivid.
I was testing both phones with number of demo and test material and the Samsung was indeed puncher and is brighter on material by over compensation of brightness but it was also less accurate in colour production, lost shadow detail, less sharp and banding issues than the oppo.
Same results on my galaxy tab s6 tablet.
The oppo screen is calibrated screen so more true to life image display and has much better shadow detail and no banding issues.
Have a read of oneplus 8 pro vs oppo find x2 pro

The oppo find x2 pro and oneplus 8 pro both have a pixelworks image processor so dedicated hardware.

Additionally, although the OnePlus 8 Pro's display & the Oppo Find X2 Pro's are similar, the Oppo's is simply in another league, thanks to the time, effort & optimization put in from the Oppo team
Guys could you help me out? I received my X2 Pro (CPH2025) today and it has severe display artifacts.

From the previews around the web, the screen looks way too blue. I wonder if LG borrowed the RGBW sub-pixel arrangement that they use for their OLED TVs? I am not a purist who lives and die by color accuracy, but it would be interesting to know how LG's OLED perform and differ compared to Samsung's AMOLED.
its not that different. Also, LCD's don't have the kind of pixel death issue and thus higher resale than OLEDs. The wallpapers look nice on the G-Flex 2: i hope someone uploads them (in full resolution) sometime soon.
For the love of everything holy, call it by its real name P-OLED.
LG didn't say anything about WRGB, and they usually boast about such things, so I assume it'll be like the original G Flex and be RGB. At least it's not pentile.

A certain website take a few close-up photo on LG G Flex 2's screen. http://m.eprice.com.hk/mobile/talk/4531/200987/1/rv/lg-g-flex-2-review/ While those photo aren't close enough to show sub pixel arrangememt and the article say nothing about this, edge of those icon on screens look like the effect of diamond pentile arrangment to me.

Pretty sure it is. If I get real close I can see jaggies.
is this screen(OLED) gonna burn-in like Samsung's amoled ??????
I do not know if this is true or not but I remember reading somewhere that the G Flex 2 has 4 sub-pixels per pixel instead of the usual 2 sub-pixels found on pentile arrangement. I find that hard to believe but I am throwing it out there since it is not totally outside of imagination. But you would think LG would have gone for 2560x1440 if that is the case.. you know, at least for marketing. I know that the GPU will have to work harder at higher resolution (thus higher power consumption), but my general impression is that the display itself consumes more power than GPU, especially for non-3D workloads.

There will be uneven wear amongst different sub-pixels. That is the nature of OLED tech, and every tech in general. Once you start using electronic devices they all start to wear. The question is always the matter of degree and kind, and how it is mitigated.
So far next to my g3 this screen looks more colorful and just as sharp. Remind me of a Samsung device. Screen is pretty good if you worried no blue tint aleast from mine
Agreed. One of the best screens i have seen.
Does anyone else seem to have the grainy issue that the original g flex had

No grain on sprint Model looks just as good as my nexus 6 i had but the colors pop more on this phone.
Only complaint I have on the screen is that the brightness doesn't go that low

Okay, I've had a LG V30+ which I sold off for the Op6. But My frnd still has kept his Note 8 and Pixel 2XL with himself.
I shot 3 sets for comparison.
Please note that the time I had the phones are limited and so the comparison pics are also limited to same surroundings but different framing.
The attachments are also in same order of Pixel 2 XL --> OnePlus ^ --> Note 8
I am quite awestruck by the OnePlus's Camera prowess. See for yourselves.

I am still torn. The V30+ is hands down the BEST size, build and sensible phone in a long time. I LOVED the headphone sound on my HD600s (you need to have a High Impedence Can to hear what the V30+ can do) but I downright HATED the camera. And I am pathetic in keeping phones, how so very good it might be. I skimp phones in a max time of 2 months.
Didn't feel as bad while letting my Pixel 2 or the S9+ go as I felt with the V30+. Loved that phone.
Great thread. Kind of confirms what I suspected, that the OP6 camera is very close though not quite as good as the other two, but closer than the price differential would suggest.
quick comment
Judging by the photos, oneplus might have just a little bit of a problem dealing with bright spots as compared to pixel but its better than pretty much everything else .
and also judging by your photos, it seems it comes down to autofocus and how still you are while taking photos , these two have much larger impact on sharpness than anything else.

Well, I think OP6 has leveraged the Camera game in the midrange price bracket into new heights. It compares favourably to these flagships.
Interesting as what I've seen on the reviewers comparisons that the OP6 has been much better at NOT blowing out the bright areas compared to the S9+ and the Pixel 2XL. I'm wondering if you had the settings not quite right? Was your HDR off or something?
And it was actually the slightly darker pics against those other 2 phones. In these pics it is much lighter and a little washed out.
Update: After looking again I am surprised though that the Pixel camera has much more noise in the phone then the OP6 as you can see in the sky and the trees above is very bad.
So I did a test between the cameras on these phone, CURRENTLY there is no night mode available, I've seen it on some youtube videos for the same phone in a different region, so I'm sure it'l be included in a future software update. But as things stand now, there's no completion during the night, the image taken with the Mate 20 Pro is clearer, sharper, it's got more detail and less noise than the image taken with the PocoPhone F1.
Anyone know when night mode update will be available in the UK?
Video stabilization is good on both phones although the Mate 20 Pro's is slightly better because it remains sharp during stabilization other than that there isn't much difference in detail, of course the color temperatures are different but everything else is pretty comparable and both phones do well at changing focus between foreground and background objects.
For the price the Pocophone is going for, the photos are great, in daylight the images are sharp and clear, there's good contrast in the images, not overly over-saturated and very true to life. High Dynamic Range is pretty good too, I was pretty surprised at how well it took pictures in very bright conditions. The Mate 20 Pro is still unsurprisingly better in every scenario, it's more flexible with its additional wide angle and zoom lens, it has better High Dynamic Range, pictures are sharper, more detailed and the colors are more true to life. It's not even a contest, but the Pocophone is still a winner if it's bang for your buck that you're looking for.
I also did a video which you can have a look at if you want, otherwise the above covers what's mentioned in the video.

Xiaomi released a nightmode in the beta updates but it's way worse than Google camera.
Poco and the pixel 3 have the same sensor on the back a imx 363, idk if the ois makes a difference tho here.
Apparently the Google night sight and the mate 20 pro are on par with each other during night shots.

i need phone not tab or iphone or ipad or kindle
for reading books - browsing some leaning app
i do not use it for gaming or camera
so MI 10 t with IPS screen as many say it is better for eyes
or go for samsung s21 Ultra
i know it is big difference in price also in spec
i can get s21 ultra
but what i want o know s IPS screen will more comfort for long reading use
or the dynamic amelod will be better
i think i read hat S21 ultra
have many certification in eye protection and have low blue light
so which better to go
I'm not an expert but I don't think one of them is specifically better for reading/browsing (although AMOLED is overall better than IPS).
If you want a device specifically for reading I'd get one with an e-ink display which is better for your eyes than either IPS or AMOLED.
Edit: I googled it to make sure I know what I'm saying and apparently there is no actual evidence e-ink is better for your eyes.
Who knew.

Advantages of AMOLED over LCD technology
In addition to the power-saving effect, an AMOLED display has other advantages compared to an LCD: No backlight also means less heat loss. In addition, AMOLED displays deliver significantly stronger contrast, deeper black levels, a wider color gamut and excellent viewing angle stability in comparison. In addition, AMOLED displays have up to 1,000 times faster response times than LCDs - in some cases less than a microsecond. And OLED screens allow not only flat-built but also curved smartphones with their design.
Examples:
Lefthand a device with AMOLED-display, righthand a device with IPS-LCD display

There probably won't be a Note 21, and I don't think the S22 Ultra will have a screen much better than the S21 Ultra (which is already nearly perfect).
So yeah, I'd get the S21 Ultra.

Design
Absolutely gorgeous, I love it! Something refreshing, solid build, very light, slim and small make it very easier to carry.
What I like
Screen - Gorgeous screen, 120hz really make differences here, scroll animation is so smooth.
Performance - Thanks Samsung finally give Malaysia market Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 instead of Exynos.
Signal - Perfect! No more signal issue of Call, Data, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Loud Speaker - Loudspeaker is clear and nice, no high-pitched issue.
Sound - No issue wireless from Bluetooth for my Sony WH-1000XM4 & Apple AirPods Pro or wired via USB-C converter to 3.5mm, it just nice fire-up my Sony MDR-Z1R.
Gaming - No doubt definitely no issue here. All games play just fine.
Neutral for me
Camera - It is not the best, but it do what it can and look good. The cool part is you can use both Rear camera for taken Selfie.
What I dislike
Screen Center Line - It is not that obvious but you still can see it and feel it. It will be great if it is totally gone.
Battery Life - 1st time I bother about the battery life. It is not well optimize, I believe future firmware can make it better.
AOD - The main screen and cover screen AOD control should be separate. Currently Cover AOD control is very little and the general one did not manage it most.

Good review thank you, I agree with all you've said, I love my flip its so nice to have something different.
My biggest disappointment is the camera, I have been thoroughly spoiled with my Huawei P30 pro for the last 2 years and the flip is no more than just okay, I will swap my sim over and use my P30 for its superb cameras when I go on trips.
I've tweaked some settings and Battery life for me is okay, I can get 4 - 5 hours screen on time with my usage so it gets me through the day but there is no reserve, if I'm going out in the evening I will charge it just in case.
One thing that bugs me is the cover display does not have adaptive brightness it's either to bright indoors or too dim outdoors, trying to adjust the dim display manually in sunlight is almost impossible!
I enjoy this phone more than any since the wonder of my first iPhone 3G back in the day

Agreed the cover should have adaptive brightness as well.
I hope next generation Samsung will put an equivalent camera as they use for Galaxy S series.
