Note 10.1 unresponsive to touch but S-pen works fine - Galaxy Note 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So 3 days ago I got bored of Android 4.4.2 on my 6 years old tablet. It worked fine for browsing the internet and watching youtube but I wanted more. I thought that was installing a new android an easy business but I was wrong. I downloaded TWRP and lineage os android 7.1. for my N8000.Then I flashed my recovery and later I download a sketchy rooting app from an internet called "iRoot". Then "iRoot" downloaded and installed an app with some Chinese characters. I wanted to delete that but there was no icon in "manage apps" tab
then I disabled it in other tabs and rebooted my device. when my device rebooted my touchscreen wouldn't work. I pulled my S-pen out and it worked perfectly fine (the device was never dropped). So I tried factory resetting my device and the problem was still there. I installed SuperSu app I thought that it would help me but when I open it it said ''binary occupied''. I was hopeless. Then I installed lineageOS and the problem was still there. I tried going back to my old android 4.4.2 but my sd card was corrupted. I installed Odin and flashed factory OS for my device. now I have the same problem. btw this was my first time doing this stuff so I made a lot of mistakes. I saw people fixing this problem simply by calling *#2663# but when I do that my screen flashes back and then it forwards me to my home screen. The problem was still there. Do you guys know the solution?

Its the rooting app that is your problem .
TWRP install via Odin wipe data system cache etc reboot to download mode .

I wiped everything. I just installed Factory android 4.4.2 with Odin. Then I installed TWRP 2.8.4.0 via Odin and wiped everything. but my touchscreen still doesn't work even in TWRP. I was installing Lineage 14.0 from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-10-1/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3848514 and I ran out of time. I will update you guys tomorrow. :fingers-crossed:

So *#2663# doesn't let you reflash the tsp firmware?
If not, your tsp ic need to get replaced.

What do you mean by that? Do I need to replace my digitizer, motherboard, or something else? I'm quite new in this type of stuff so I don't understand most of the things
Also, I tried installing multiple versions of official os and other versions of Lineage and Slimroms and my touch still doesn't work. I also tried reflashing firmware on all those versions but it still work.

This menu which appears, when you dial *#2663#, it let you update the touch screen panel firmware,
it flashes it directly to the chip.
If this fails or simply doenst work, you have to replace this chip (TSP IC) or your mainboard.

Thanks for your quick response. Basically, because this tablet is over 6 years old, and I am unable to find the correct motherboard in my country. I found tablets (used) like mine for something near 40 euros. I wanted to buy a whole motherboard and replace it, but it was like 30-40 dollars and shipping is an additional 50 - 60 euros. So I think that I should wait for a cheap broken one and then try to make Frankenstein from those two. Anyway thanks for your help!

Hard Reset doesn't work/deleted apps are restored after reboot

Hello everyone,
I just joined this forum and i need some help.
I've got a very wierd problem with my samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0
Tablet: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 GT-P3110 model.
Android: ver. 4.1.2
So the story behind my tablet is that my dad bought it when he working in another country, when he came back he told me that he had a broken galaxy tab 2 and he asked me to try to fix it,the problem he reported was that the tablet sometimes restarts, alot of programs have crashes and the wierdest thing is that, when I turn it off and then turn on the device (or simply restart it) the system is restored to some earlier state, this includes:
1. Apps I've deleted are still installed.
2. Widgets or app shortcuts on 'home' pages are still on their old place though I've rearranged them.
3. Same with wallpapers.
4. Same with settings.
So i tried the following:
1. Factory reset + cache clean. Even though it is supposed to be a full system wipe, it doesn't work.
2. Reinstalling a Stock ROM via ODIN. Doesn't work either and it takes about an hour to do...it says it was successful but it doesn't change anything in the tablet.
Also there is a notice in android recovery, which states:
did not match sized '/system/csc/common/system/csc/feature.xml' (no data available)
This device wasn't rooted.
So i you would ask you guys for some help, thanks.

My line of thought is that if you do root it, you can format the system partition which would more than likely fix this issue. But like I said, more than likely, there's no guarantee because it might be a hardware issue. Have you considered sending it in for repair? Since it's not rooted they would do it. If you don't care to send it in and are just trying stuff to see if you can get it working again, then rooting it wouldn't hurt anything. But that's your choice.

OK, so here's where just rooting won't help. You have two options: 1) Find the stock ROM at Samsung and have it on your SD card. Or 2) choose another ROM. Whichever you choose is up to you. You're going to have to format your system in the custom recovery, by doing this your tab is wiped of all info including the stock ROM. If you format system you won't be able to boot into your tab without flashing another ROM after. If I'm repeating stuff you know, I apologize. You'll need the ROM you choose on your external sd card, because you'll want to completely format everything (except your ext sd). If you know all this, try it out and see if it helps. If you want to learn more and the steps, PM me, I'll help as much as I can!

Hi, i'm facing the same issue here. Then I've try to root the phone but failed. Can help me too Sir?
For now it can't repaired, It,s known as emmc brickbug, find the xda forum thru Playstore emmc brickbug check. In Indonesia there is website that claim can repair it by replacing the emmc chip/internal memory, but it's not proven yet, since no body in our Galaxy Tab 2 facebook group has confirmed it. More than 15 people in the group has reported this bug, and the only way to fix it is by replacing the mainboard in Samsung Service Center. I also have replaced my wife Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 mainboard with the same case. In Indonesia the cost is about US$100

TWRP Flipped Touchscreen Input Left-Right(Horizontally) HELP!

Hi, I recently downloaded Flashify and the TWRP img and used it. However, when I booted the .img into Flashify, my touchscreens input (the action when you tap your phone screen), not the touchscreen orientation. The Input has flipped left-right or horizontally. So lets say there are 4 apps on the dock. If i clicked the 1st one, I get the 4th. 2nd = 3rd, 3rd = 2nd, and 4th = 1st.
Please tell me how to fix this. If there is an easy way like using build.pro to somehow flip the touchscreens input because the hwrotation=180 only changed the orientation.
Any help is appreciated, thank you.
I have rebooted, Settings>Restore, Cleared cache dav cache internal storage, advanced clean through recovery
Reflash with stock 5.1.1 ROM via odin.
Can't Ive been trying. It keeps getting stuck at "Complete(Write) operation failed"
I used Odin successfully before this to update to 5.1.1 from 5.0.2
It's also recognizing my S6 as the S6 Edge
I Dl'd the driver already
Should I also be using the G920TUVU1AOCG_G920TTMB1AOCG_G920TUVU1AOCG_HOME.tar or the G920TUVUCOF6-20150615115627.tar?
Okay it finally worked. It didnt fix it and it removed my root. So even worse than before.

HAHAHHAHAHA!!! I looked at the one that said T-Mobile and instantly clicked it instead of actually looking at the name. It WAS indeed for the Edge, the left - right inverse does not happen anymore. This isn't fixed with a reflash or reboot or changing to correct TWRP. You need to refix it in phone>*#2663#
EDIT: To any others that have this happen. Even if you fix it with the phone>*#2663#, if you go back into the EDGE Variant TWRP it will make it back to left - right inverse. You need to change it to the right TWRP variant first otherwise going back to the wrong TWRP will mess it up again.
Thanks for that, I overlooked it.

Recovered from boot loop but constant crashes with older ROM

I am helping a friend to get his One Plus One 64GB to work again after an OTA update broke it.
Initial Problem
Two days ago she started an OTA update which made the phone reboot constantly before even android started. Basically it showed the logo for about 6s then vibrated and restarted again. I later found /o/Android/data/com.cyngn.fota/cache/cm-12.0-YNG1TAS17L-bacon-signed.zip so I assume that this was what was installed.
The phone is completely untouched otherwise. She has no computer knowledge whatsoever and says she didn't give it to anyone.
My attempt
I was able to install cm-11.0-XNPH33R-bacon-signed.zip and cm-11.0-XNPH22R-bacon-signed.zip via sideloading. The phone started ok but was crashing all the time. I am not able to get into settings to activate developer settings (adb) because the crash notifications hinder navigation and after about 10s the whole gui crashes and I see the black screen with the hexagon loading logo. The latter firmware is worse meaning it crashes at a higher frequency.
The Problem
She didn't expect any problems and does not have a backup of her data. Thus I can't do a factory reset or use fastboot.
Question
Did I use the wrong ROM? There seem to be many variants. I haven't found any information which explains the differences.
Could I maybe flash a minimal ROM that would not crash to backup the data and than do a factory reset?
Is there any way to activate adb access without having to navigate to settings?
I've experienced your issues as well when helping another friend out, try using a newer version of cm11s, something like 44S /44R (i dont remember what it is) or 05Q, those should not have the issue and everything should work fine
Jst flash a newer modem in recovery

The problem here is that you flashed an older build, going backwards like that is what's causing the crashes. Grab the latest build from here:

Flash that and hopefully you'll be ok.

That won't help, flashing an older build than what was previously installed without wiping properly will cause problems.

Actually this is what I did in the very first beginning but I encountered the same rebooting symptoms like after the OTA update. Since it didn't seem to change anything I didn't mention it. I used cm-12.1-YOG4PAS1N0-bacon-signed.
Any other ideas? I am about to unlock it with fastboot but really would prefer not to delete all user data.

Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F randomly restarts

Since a couple of days my Samsung Galaxy S6 SM-G920F keeps to restart randomly or even just power off.
It started rarely and now it does it even every few minutes.
Sometimes it just restart suddenly other times it freezes for some seconds and then restart.
It seems an hardware issue because the problem persists even after a factory reset.
Do you think about anything I could try before I give up?
I could try to flash a previous firmware (current is G920FXXU5EQH1) but the problem started some days after the last OTA update.
You can try reflash latest stock (HERE you found all), but looks like hardware issue... Were there any heavier falls or contact with water?

No, no fall or contact with water.
I'm downloading the previous stock and I'll try it just to eliminate the doubt that could be the latest firmware instead.
But I agree that it looks like an hardware issue but, which part? Could it be the motherboard?
The randomness of the restart make me think of a NAND or ram issue. What's your opinion please?

Don't try flash previous stock just like latest because there can be problems with bootloader etc and won't start. Just try latest stock downloaded via SamFire flashed via latest Odin3 with latest drivers.
Most often the eMMC is damaged for unknown reasons, it's on mobo.

I flashed last firmware G920FXXU5EQH1 with odin that said "PASS!". Then S6 rebooted in recovery saying "Installing update", after some second saying "Erasing" then rebooted and now is in "No command" state.
I don't know what to do at this point. Since the flash went ok maybe it's not a NAND problem.
Any other idea?
nvm, after installing TWRP the S6 freezes even using TWRP and this is a confirmation that it's an hardware issue.

I did bring the S6 to a technician and he said that it's the internal memory and I have to replace the motherboard.
I found some at 45€/60€ for the G920F but is there something that I should pay attention like IMEI or other things?

Yes, exactly what I told NAND/memory in S6 case is eMMC, and mainly that is broken from unknown reasons. Some S6 are more sensitive and one fall down can makes broken eMMC But ~50-60€ isn't bad price for mobo. You will be have just new IMEI etc ofcourse. Just be sure you buying from good source, and all will be 100% working and not from stolen phone

Oneplus one acting weird

My opo fell in water so its screen was not working. My father gave it to a mobile repair shop who repaired it for 4k. When he checked the phone everything seemed alright. He was able to call me etc etc. Then he couriered me the phone. When I got It... It had cos13 latest version. I checked everything except calling. Then I rooted my phone. Flashed oreo. I inserted my sim. It was able to detect that it was an idea sim and import contacts from it but it showed no service. I thought it was the rom. I flashed Tugapower N49. Same problem. So I thought restoring it to stock might solve the problem. Used oneplus one recovery tool to restore it to 4.4 . Still the same problem. It can detect the sim but can not catch any signal. I check my Imei number. Its still there. But I was not able to run the ping test. Then I thought of using this phone for checking roms only and use my Lumia(I hate Lumia) for calling. Rooted it again. Flashed oreo. Flashed its gapps. It show installation complete but its stuck there...... Waited for half an hour. Forced restart. oreo opened but It was nt factory reset although I had wiped it and it shut down after some time. after that my phone reached the android screen only and cant proceed further. I thought maybe force closing my phone during gapps installation did this. Tried to install tuga power.. error executing update binary. Had one more nougat rom. Installed it. Again it didn't show that starting google screen which u see when ever u open a new phone. Basically It was again not factory reset, Wiped everything except system. still this happened. Returned back to stock using recovery tool. Now I tried to install multirom so that I can install the oreo rom. after rooting multirom wasn't able to download anything. Downloaded it manualy. Flashed multirom twrp using fastboot. opened recovery . Not working. phone rebooting. Flashed the previous recovery which I was using before multirom one, That one is working properly!!! What is wrong with my phone???!!!!!
