Whenever a new message or other notification comes in, the message briefly appears at the top of the screen. To make it go away, you have to touch the bottom of the notification and slide it upwards. To me, this is really awkward and annoying - the new notification blocks the top of the screen which is where the Chrome address bar is, and also sliding it upwards to dismiss it does not feel very natural or easy to do. I usually end up waiting a few seconds for it to go away on its own, because I would have to use my other hand to accurately grab it and drag it upwards. This is probably my single biggest issue with EMUI 4.1.
I think it would be much better if you could just swipe left or right to dismiss a notification. And be able to swipe it away from any position, not a specific "grab point". Is there a way to change this behavior with a theme or something? Also, how do the notifications behave in EMUI 5?
its EMUI Nothing Can be Changed My Friend ! .
That setting is per App as far as i can tell. go to the app info and click notifications, then it's under 'banners'. turn it off. I dont think there is a master setting so have to go one by one.
That's not an EMUI style; that's the Android standard. All of the "banner" notifications have the temporary dismiss by swiping upwards on it. The difference between that and swiping it to the side is the notification will still remain in the notification tray versus dismissing the notification completely. If you go to Settings > Notification panel & status bar > Notification center, it tells you every app that has notifications permissions and which ones they are. Just turn off banner and you'll be fine.
though its a feature, it deffinitely is a pain..think now it is removed in emui5??
Banner Notifications are still a thing in Nougat. Maybe it's because my old phone was running Kit Kat, where I don't think they existed, but I had to manually enable them in each app I wanted to see them in EMUI 4.1. It's still the same in EMUI 5.0.
Hi there,
unfortunately I'm experiencing the exact problem with my new P30 that I already had with my P10. Occasionally Android Settings wouldn't open when clicking it on the home screen. It appears for a split second then disappears again. It works from the quick navigation bar. As soon as I start it via the quick navigation bar I can click on the actual icon again... until the next time...
Others had the same problem ages ago: https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-8/help/settings-apps-t3496165
I'm using the latest EMUI 9 with Nova Launcher (but again, it already happened on EMUI8/P10). This is annoying. Any help?
Thanks.
I am currently using Galaxy S9 Plus on Verizon and with Apex launcher. From the last week, when I get a text message or a new message in Facebook Messenger I don't just get a notification in the bar at the top, but an actual pop-up that comes up over the top of anything else and goes all the way across the top of the screen and about three quarters of an inch tall. It stays up for four or five seconds before going away. As you can see this is pretty annoying and I have tried to control it but I can find no setting regarding this matter. It does not seem to be app specific as it comes up with texts, voice mail notifications, Facebook messenger message notifications and maybe others. Does anyone know how to get rid of these and have just the normal notifications?
Hi. I recently got a new p30 and there is something that's really bothering me.
Whenever I get a multiple notification, like several emails for exemple, when I click on it, instead of opening the inbox, the notification expends and shows each mail separately as if I clicked on the small arrow. Then if I click on an individual mail it opens this one.
In short if there is an arrow on a particular notification, when I click anywhere on the notification it acts as if I clicked the arrow.
Is there a way to fix that?
Fyi I'm runing emui 9.1.0
Thanks
HI
My OnePlus 8 is showing App notifications on the label line under the app badge icon. Just a blue dot preceding the App name under the icon. I want to turn them off. 95% of the notifications are just nusciences. The phone started doing this after the last os update.
There has got to be a simple toggle somewhere in the settings. I just can't find it. It's no big a deal but it is annoying.
Thanks for any help
John
