Problem flashing vendor.img.ext4 for GSI - Samsung Galaxy J4+ Questions & Answers

So I got into flashing GSI's and apparently, I have to flash my vendor for it to boot because I haven't been able to boot any GSI's at all. The vendor is in my stock rom but how do I flash vendor.img.ext4. Through twrp or odin? Is it even necessary? Appreciate any help.

extract to vendor.img then pack into a tar file to flash in odin

boot.img?

Hey guys,
so right now I am trying to flash a new rom (currently on trickdroid) and was considering axiom but one of the steps is to flash the boot.img but i am having trouble figuring out how to flash the boot.img through fastboot. I have installed the sdk manager and htc sync according to the how to in the development thread. But i don't know where to get the file for the boot.img and what to do after that I have watched the video and read through the how to several times. Is there an easier way to go about flashing roms, or do I have to use the boot.img process?
If you flash via TWRP, you won't have to flash boot.img.
boot.img is found in the .zip package that you flash. It should be one of the first items you see when you open the zip. This is the .zip that you install when you're in CWM. Extract that boot.img for the fastboot method, but like I said, with TWRP you won't have to flash it.
Some people have said that their boot.img's didn't flash on TWRP, but worse comes to worst is you get stuck in a boot loop and you just flash the boot.img in fastboot or restore your phone in CWM.

OPO : flash ROM with empty partition

Hi, I need your help....
Where can I find ROM with system.img, boot.img, userdata.img etc ?
for some reasons, mainly because i'm a dumb, i erased the entire partition of the OPO64.
Now, the only things I can do is to boot into :
- Fastboot Mode
- TWRP (that I installed just before doing silly things, like wiping everything out...)
I am wondering how to reinstall any OS on my phone, LineageOS or RR or anything else to get this phone working again. As there is no physical SDcard slot, I can't put a ROM on it to flash it from TWRP.
the only ROM I've found is CM13.x found here : https://www.androidsage.com/2016/08...anogen-os-13-1-2-znh2kas3p0-update-cm-13-1-2/
is it possible to get some other ROM with all the .img files ?
adb commands do not work.
The only thing I ca do is using fasboot commands.
As far as I understood, I could use there commands :
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
BUT : when I unzip all the ROMs I've found so far, there is always a boot.img file (and the fastboot flash boot boot.img works), but there is no other IMG file in the ZIP. No system.img, no userdata.img etc
Where can I download a ROM providing these files ?
is it mandatory to flask recovery.img ? I still want to use TWRP
Many many thanks

Can't flash vendor

So whenever I try to flash the vendor.img it said cannot flash images to file system can't flash it using fast boot either im trying to flash vendor.img from RROS 7.1.2
@Sammy4798 Following from your previous thread about not being able to flash a working TWRP, do you actually have an UNLOCKED bootloader?
yes its unlocked and i got the twrp you sent me and it worked fine for magisk and such but the vendor .img wont flash
You could have let me know..............
You need to mount system or all partitions as R/W
Is encryption used in RRos ?
Flashing a vendor.img from another rom will almost 100% end in bricking and at best bootlooping.
Beware !
PS: You should not have started a Q/A thread for this.
i am using the vendor given by the rom
i have looked up how to mount the partiton most things i found didnt work i dont know why
Does anyone know how to flash the vendor IMG of the ROM I can't boor into it without the vendor

AOSIP install via fastboot conatains a system.img file instead of super.img

I downloaded the Latest AOSIP fastboot package to flash my X2 but sadly there is no super.img instead there is the old system.img. I tried to install it into Super by fastboot flash super system.img but the phone failed to reboot.
Now, I am back to my stock ROM and Recovery. Any ways I could fix this?

Don't think too much. Just follow the instructions from aospa thread.

how to flash stock rom using twrp

yeah I need to flash stock rom because because my current rom is kinda buggy I downloaded the stock rom from a site and it contains these: boot.img, dtbo.img, metadata.img, recovery.img, super.img, userdata.img, vbmeta.img, vbmeta_samsung.img and fota.zip
I'm guessing it's either super.img or userdata.img because they are the biggest files please let me know
A Stock ROM typically comes as ZIP-file and gets flashed by ADB Sideload method: TWRP isn't needed for this.

I suggest you to flash using fastboot.
Safe and secure.
