Hi guys
After activating maximum power saving last night, when I rolled back. To optimized my phone lost most of my shortcuts as well as 3 accounts that I had set up on my Gmail account.
Phone acts a bit strange and at some point I got a notification that my date time was not synced.
Anyone faced similar problems?

I've noticed that once phone is powered off/on after shutting down with battery dead that neither automatic sync nor background sync happens despite being ticked. I have to cycle the setting to kick it into life. Anyone else seen that?

Are you sure that this simply isn't they power save feature kicking in?
This can be configured using various settings from within
Settings > Power > Power save

Power save works fine when the battery gets below 15% (in my case). The problem is it doesn't seem to come out of power save mode properly on its own when the phone has power in it again. I find the background and auto sync settings have been reticked, but they don't seem to be effective until I un-tick/re-tick them manually.

Oh, must admit that I have not noticed this, although I do use tasker application to enable and then disable my various radios and sync settings based on time in order to save battery

This is happening on my Desire S too.
Have you found a solution as of yet?

Nope. There's a LOT about the Desire S that kinda half works properly. I find its implementation really kind of sloppy. Definitely NOT a phone I go round recommending to anyone.
To ben_pyett's comment I considered Tasker. Apart from the fact that there are lots of comments that some of it's functionality is broken in 2.3 because Google messed with their APIs, when I thought about it I was pricipally going to get it to try and fix/work around all the stuff that doesn't work well in the Desire S, rather than add functionaliy. E.g.
- Auto display brightness always has the brightness too high (esp in dim ambient light) and there's no way to adjust its 'gain'
- Cycling Buetooth and WiFi and GPS availability (using various strategies based on location and time) only to mitigate poor battery life in the standard product
- Getting it to out of power save mode properly
- Stopping it making the SMS received notification noise when it was just receiving a txt delivery receipt
Sadly there's other stuff Tasker can't 'fix'.
I find myself rebooting the phone manually every two or three days when it begins to exhibit weird behaviour. It might be crashing and rebooting between those times too. I used to have a SIM PIN activated, but it would prompt for that before allowing me to even get calls after a crash, so I missed important calls before I noticed it was in that state. Now with the SIM PIN disabled it might still be crashing but I don't spot it at least.
I was a Blackberry user for years, and should never have changed. At least the BB was stable and all its features seemed to work properly (and had excellent battery life even with WiFi and Bluetooth on 24/7). I though the extra Google integration with Android was attractive and would be worth it. How wrong I was. :-(
Anyone else using the app Auto Airplane mode? It is a cracker of an app for battery life on standby (got 3 days of sporadic use, about 4 hours, and still have 49% batt left on the tablet). However, I am finding that the tablet lags really badly after waking up from a couple of hours or more of screen off time. Really bad lag, lasting at least several minutes after wake up. I get sick of the lag after 5 minutes or so and cold boot it, which completely fixes lag. I know it has to update apps, mail etc after wireless comes back on, but this probably shouldn't take minutes to do. Anyone else experiencing this problem? I want to keep the app, but I need the tablet to be responsive when I wake it up, cause I use it at work to take notes, make appointments etc.
Cheers,
Mike.
This app was great in the early Prime Firmware, but is no longer necessary. There are 2 seperate places in settings that give you roughly the same thing. Go to WiFi, hit the three dot menu, select advanced and "Turn off wifi during sleep" I prefer the "only keep wifi on when plugged in" option, but you can choose never or always. Second, in Asus Custom Settings, you can stop all syncing while in sleep mode. This will also cause the tab to do some updates when you wake iy, but I wpuld look into just how mich crap you are actually syncing if you are seeing that kind of lag. Go to accounts in settings and sellect each account, especially the Google primary account, you will see what apps are syncing here. Get rid of auto airplane mode app. Its niche has been filled by stock firmware, with the exception of GPS, which does not shut down in sleep mode without it. Its a little more effort to manually contfol it, but getting almost the same benefits with a stock firmware option is always preferable in my opinion. Consider: The auto airplane app has to run in memory, thus consuming SOME battery, though it's likely negligible.

The settings on the S3 have the following power saving options available: Auto adjust screen tone, Screen Power Saving and background color. Do any of these settings have a decent or better impact on battery life? I have a hyperion 4200 battery and use Lux autobrightness to lower screen brightness below zero when I dont need a bright screen, and seem to have my phone currently doing okay when it comes to wake locks, so wondering if these options make any noticeable difference in battery life or are they more gimmicky like a lot of the other settings choices.
I think the data syncs are more of a culprit than auto brightness settings but then again I have auto brightness on and it still helps. I notice my wife's phone gets better battery life than mine because she doesn't have as much data syncs in the background as I do even though she is constantly playing word games. She doesn't use FB, Twitter, Google plus, Google Music or Dropbox and I do. We both charge our phones at night but she has more screen time than I usually, stock batteries too.

I consider my battery life to be okay. I use my phone a lot so I cant expect the multiday cycles people have. I wanted to know this more for information. I have all my auto syncs off except for youmail, which i need on to update my custom voicemail greetings. To sync everything, i wrote a tasker action to sync everything everytimebi connect to a wifi access point other than gmail. For gmail, i have it set to sync every other time the screen turns on. I am able to do this because of the synker app from play store.
I'd say power save works. Extra hour maybe.
I turn off WiFi and data when I don't use it and my phone last all day with heavy texting and frequent WiFi use.
Running clean rom
With lean kernel

Hi,
My nexus 5 does not show/get messages from Whatsapp after the phone screen has been locked and not woken up for a while. This is happening on 3G. This seems to be happening during the afternoon. It's not really anything to do with the time I guess.. probably only because the phone is least used while im at work.
Battery saver is off and no such battery saving apps are in use
Anyone else facing this issue ?
Thanks!

Hi
I've S10 plus exynos.
I've noticed a strange thing keeps happening today I made the power mode on optimized and adaptive battery on but these settings keep changing to be power saving mode and adaptive power mode off.
I tried reset settings but still have the same issue
Any idea?

Usually this happens before the first week of usage is over. The software needs to read your usage patterns in order to get adaptive power saving to work correctly.
Adaptive battery saving changes your profile automatically, but it will set itself off if you change profile manually.
Anyone can tell how to enable deep sleep mode. AoD is disabled. But battery is not giving 7 hours even on mild usage
Wait for march update

If you update it to the latest version, you will be fine.
I've not observed this problem with my phone, running ASCA - March security patch
Only time I get this is if I turn on adaptive power. First thing I turned off.
