Calendar Notification - notifies about upcoming events & birthdays - Android Apps and Games

Hi all,
I'm an indie developer from near Hamburg, Germany. My problem was, that I constantly missed appointments and birthdays. So I started looking around for suitable apps. Only one app met my requirements, but you couldn't swipe away the notification. So like most of you, I decided to develop my own first app.
What is the main feature?
- Set a time and receive a daily notification with all your upcoming events and birthdays for the next days
2. What else can I do?
- Change the layout of the notification
- Open each event from the notification
- Set custom event filter, customize displayed information, use dark mode ...
3. Sweet, but aren't there already ton of apps, which can do that?
- There are indeed some apps with similar features, but none of them is designed as a notification. They all are widgets and are not swipeable.
4. Ok, I want to download this amazing app.
- Free version with no Ads. Check it out!
I would love some feedback and I hope some of you might find it useful
Kind regards,
Martin

review from wife of this app loves the menstrual integration.Would like to see events as a real time at a glance view instead of just a dot.Ability to merge multiple events as this show the same birthday 4 times on one day.Too similar to all other calendar apps for now but a great start!
Just have to say...WOW!
My only issue is that I can't seem to locate my city and when I type it in search...nothing comes up

Alright so I am running Samsung Galaxy S4, 4.3 Firmware.
The location, for me, simply does not work. I tried berkeley, san leandro, oakland, there is simply no search result no matter what I put in. Also when I press on location, it simply fails....I think it may be an issue with the app but I am not sure, why my device and firmware is listed above. But the weather by it self does work as I choose a random city listed (by the app) and it does work.
Also, is it possible to remove the icon from the status bar and keep the app with in the notification drawer? I have looked in the setting, but cannot locate this...it will be really great if you can! I keep mistaking it for my battery read lol.
If the cycle calender (blush face here lmao) is it possible to make it known what the color coding is? I am 100% sure of what one of them is, 60% sure of the other...and no idea what is the last one. I have look in the app for the clarity but no luck....which I want to add THANK YOU for adding that in there, that is one less app I will have to deal with .
I think giving the option to order the different calenders will be nice. If this is already possible please guide me...as I can't seem to figure it out. It gives option to delete but I do not want to test that as I do not want to loose the cycle calender.
Other than those minor issues, i still love it and will use it regardless. But if developers can take user feedback to account, even better and will recommend out. Got two of my lady friends to download already And one of my co-workers.
Any widget from this app?
Since I dont plan on having a period any time soon, is it possible to switch off that feature?
I really liked this app.
Here's my review:
http://droidhorizon.com/zdcal-review/
Loved this app as soon as I loaded it will probably never go back to stock calendar, option to hide from status bar was hard to find but just click the 3 line button in top left corner then hit settings and you get all different settings
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
An option to disable festivals entirely would be great. Other then that, i love the app.
Celsius/Fahrenheit
Any way to add a setting to change between Celsius and Fahrenheit for the weather? Us Americans don't know temps in C.

bought and installed it.Looks good so far and is easy to use, but I´m missing a (Google)Calender sync to have all my old notes back.
Things like birthdays and so on(Sorry for my english). Also option to mark weekend and feast days would be nice.
And why did I have to set a concrete year when I set "every year"
Hope you continue your developement, this could be a great, very helpfull app.
Thank you very much so far

You are right, there is no Google/Samsung calendar synchronization, and there is no ability to mark weekends/holidays. And I agree, most cases with "every year" recurring rule do not require setting the end year, so I will try to fix it soon. Thanks for your feedback, I added your thoughts to my list of other requests of new features. Let me know if you have any other thoughts later!
Agree with the comment above: add calendar sync to the features and we have a winner
Sent from my brain through neural networks.
Can we have resizable widgets for the memos?
I miss the ooold SMemo widgets, which we could spread, 3 or 4, over the screen, not the new ones, too big & heavy.
From the ICS era, I must carry with the GNote app, a simulator of SMemo....
I will try yours, in any way.

Do you mean Google Calendar? It would be a partial (no guests, no sharing options, no event color, no location) one-way (Google Calendar -> Penocle only, because most Penocle items are based on a graphic notes) sync. Thanks for your comment.

You are the first one who asked for widgets, but I agree, it is a good point. What widget would you like to see first? I guess agenda/current week would be the most useful one.

Exactly. Some way to display GCal events at least. But wouldn't it be possible to store the graphical note as image attachment to a GCal-event as well, so that events created in Penocle at least could be indicated in The Google Calendar?
Don't get me wrong: I really do like what you have come up with so far – but in order to be fully usable, at least (one-way) display of existing Google Calendar events would be essential, IMHO.
Nice app, and a good idea. For me, Google calender sync and a reziable widget is essential for purchase the app.

Like the layout and everything. Seems really solid.
But haxsync doesnt work somehow with this. I have there showing visible and synced "haxsync birthdays" but no entries on calendar. Currently using Today Calendar and everything is there.
I tested with few local calendars and "important events" calendars. All showing in m-calendar but this haxsync.
Thanks, looks nice. I like having a dark theme option.
A couple of suggestions to consider. The notification icon could be a little bigger and bolder. It is hardly noticed next to other icons. The other suggestion is to add a little space between items, and days, in the agenda view.
Many thanks for this great app :good:
For next release, it will be possible to change the size of font?

Maybe haxsync birthday format is differ than m-calendar can recognize.
The programm in attachment (Birthday) shows all contact's birthdays in your phone. You can run it, and find in list your haxsync contacts, and write here birthsday string of this contact.
If there are no haxsync contacts in this list - this mean that haxsync do not add its contacts to android contacts or haxsync do not add birthday of its contacts to birthday field in android contacts.
Thank you!
Harry
A problem I found yesterday is with editing recurring events. M-Calendar does not offer the option to edit only one occurrence, so it changed my entire series when I only wanted to change one occurrence.

Please, say what is your timezone?
And another question - is this bug only in wiget? Is in agenda view all ok or not?
Later: I can reproduce this error on my phone. But not the same. My error is - Thomas Jefferson's birthday is on 13 (!) april, and m-calendar shows this event on 13 april, but title of this event is 12 (!) april. Do you have the same error? Please check this!
And if you check "Show contact's bitrhdays" on right drawer menu - on which date will appear Thomas Jefferson CONTACT birthday (line in agenda with Quick contact badge)?

[APP][4.4+][FREE] Random Reminder - now available for 4.4+

Random Reminder is a simple yet beautiful non-time-based reminder/alarm app.
Random Reminder reminds you of important life goals and helps you achieve behavioral changes.
The app was launched for android 5.0 and up in the beginning. Now after much hard work it's finally available for a larger audience! Please give the app a try and definitely let me know what you think about it!
LINK TO PLAYSTORE: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jason.randomreminder
You will be reminded of important life goals or behavioral changes you want to achieve randomly. No specific time can be set for a reminder. Only ranges of available time and days can be set so the app does not remind you at inappropriate times. Great for behavioral changes and achieving life goals that were 2012's new year's resolution. With a variety of customizations including reminder types, reminder background, appearance etc, you get to decide how your reminder would look like when you are prompted by the catchy reminders.
Features:
- Statistics: Random Reminder also offers statistics for each individual reminder item. You will be able to see yourself progress over a period of time. Useful information like completion rate will be provided to you. Customization options will also be available.
- Message: Add a motivational message to yourself when adding a new reminder. The message will be displayed when the reminder is triggered randomly.
- Done/Snooze: You can choose to mark the reminder as done or snooze the reminder so you will be reminded again in a specific time.
- Options: You can select notification tone, vibration or even LED notification light to make the reminder more obvious so you won't miss a single one of them.
- Preview: You can preview a reminder to see how it looks like. No worries though because the font and the background is all random too, so you won't see the same look constantly.
- Repeat: You can decide how many times a reminder at least will repeat.
There are a lot other features to be explored. Install the app and expect some achievements and boost in productivity!

[APP][5.0+] Notification Timer ⏱️: Use stopwatch timers from the notification drawer!

To get user feedback, I will be giving out a limited number of Google Play Store promo codes for the pro-version of the app!
Please comment or message me directly and I will be happy to send you one!
First come, first served- thanks!
Introduction
Notification Timer lets you use stopwatch timers right from your notification drawer.
No need to open an app- view and use your timers from anywhere!
If you track billable work hours, time spent on personal projects, hobbies, chores, exercise, sports, or anything else, then you need this app!
There are some great alternatives out there, but they all have the same major flaw: you shouldn't have to search for an app and wait for it to open to manage your time tracking. With Notification Time, now you don't have to!
With Notification Timer, you can access your timers from anywhere- your home screen, another app, or even the lock screen!

Features
Main Features:
• Notification timers: Timers you activate will show up in the notification drawer. You can view and use them from anywhere!
• Create and manage multiple timers: You can show and hide individual timers as you need them.
• Focus on individual timers: If you have a lot of active timers, the notification can get quite large. You can hide all but one timer by tapping the stopwatch icon, and show them all again by tapping it again.
• Customize your timers: You can give each timer a unique display name to make it stand out. Personalize your timers with more than 40 color options. Choose to hide buttons you don't need to avoid accidental resets and dismissals.
• Deactivate/reactivate timers: Don't need access to your timers right now? With one button press you can hide them all from the notification drawer. Press it again when you're ready to start tracking time again. All the timers you had active before will be remembered and activated automatically!
• Reset all timers: Done recording for the day? With one button press you can easily reset all timers back to time zero.
• Timer history: All timer events (start/stop/reset/etc.) are automatically recorded, up to 1000 events
• Set time manually: Forgot to start your timer? No worries- you can update your timer's current time manually.
• Reorder timers: Put your timers in any order you like. The order will be reflected both in the app and the notification drawer.
• Daily tracking log: Check daily breakdowns for each timer (elapsed, added, and total time).
• App themes: Dark theme is enabled by default, but a light theme is there if you prefer it.
• Timer styles: Three different timer styles are available: dark, light, and black.
• Timer sizes: Large and small layouts to suit your preference.
• Functionality settings: Lots of options are available in the Settings menu for adjusting how the app and timers work.
Pro Version Features:
• Create unlimited timers (free version is limited to 3 at a time)
• Display up to 8 timers in the notification drawer at a time
• No more notification upgrade message
• Completely ad-free
• Help support future development of Notification Timer and other great apps!

Notes
Due to Android technical limitations, all timers in the notification need to refresh at the same time. Because of this, you may see some hiccups or glitches while timers are running, and their displayed times might be slightly off. Paused timers will always be accurate.
For the same reasons, it is not possible to display milliseconds in the notification and still have responsive buttons- sorry! If displaying milliseconds within the app itself becomes a highly-requested feature, that could be a future possibility.
Also, please note that the daily tracking log is not able to keep track of time beyond timer history (1000 events). If you need longer term records, please consider using a separate time tracking tool. For now, the focus of Notification Timer is easy-to-use timers. If lots of users request more sophisticated time tracking then that could be a possibility for the future.
Please feel free to reach out with any bug reports or feature requests and thank you for your support!

Release Notes
Version 1.2.0:
Added small timer layout. With the small layout, up to twelve timers can be displayed at the same time and up to six can be displayed without having to recreate the notification after focusing on a timer. By default, the small layout will be used if five or more timers are active, but this can be changed in Settings.
Added setting to specify which layout focused timers should use.
Older Versions:
Version 1.1.0:
Created a Daily Tracking Log screen to view daily breakdowns for each timer (elapsed, added, and total time). Please note: the app still won't keep track of time beyond timer history (1000 events), so if you need to keep long term records please consider using a separate dedicated time tracking tool.
Fixed notification upgrade message not directing to in-app upgrade prompt dialog.
Fixed some memory leaks (might see some benefits in memory usage).
Version 1.0.2:
Implemented manually setting of time by typing in the time (instead of scrolling).
Tapping a timer's time within the app now opens the dialog to manually set the time.
Fixed crashing bug (probably) seen on Moto G5s Plus (and likely other devices).
Fixed crashing bug related to activate all timers button.
Adjusted contact form (removed auto-fill suggestions).
Version 1.0.1:
Tapping a timer's focus button in the app now activates the timer in the notification.
Tapping a timer's name in the app now opens the timer settings dialog.
Made slight adjustments to timer dropdown menu.
Simplified and shortened tutorial.
Ads are now hidden while the tutorial is running.
Fixed a bug that could prevent the tutorial from progressing.
Fixed bug where the activate/deactivate all timers button would crash the app if a timer had recently been deleted while active.
Version 1.0.0:

To get user feedback, I will be giving out a limited number of Google Play Store promo codes for the pro-version of the app!
Please comment or message me directly and I will be happy to send you one! First come, first served- thanks!
I liked the idea! Right now I use the stopwatch from the default clock, but, like you said, you need to open the app and can't control via notification. I would like to test the Pro version

Code sent- thanks for trying it! I was in the exact same situation, which is what caused me to decide to develop the app. I hope it helps you out!
Hey everyone! I just released an update, fixing some bugs and adding a couple features. And I still have promo codes for anyone interested!
Download it here: Notification Timer (Stopwatch)
Version 1.0.2:
Implemented manually setting of time by typing in the time (instead of scrolling).
Tapping a timer's time within the app now opens the dialog to manually set the time.
Fixed crashing bug (probably) seen on Moto G5s Plus (and likely other devices).
Fixed crashing bug related to activate all timers button.
Adjusted contact form (removed auto-fill suggestions).
Love the idea! It's much more simpler, than opening one app, and then going back, and doing that everytime you want to pause and.. well, you get it.
Noticed some problem. On my Xiaomi Redmi 3 there is only one timer in the drawer, even then I started several of them. Might be MIUI problem.
Also, it would be very nice, if app accumulated all timer time. Yeah, I can go to history and sum it all by myself, but it's no fun. Like how that realized in TimeSheet. It gives report by day, week, month, etc.

Thanks for the heads up! A bug on that platform is very possible, as I don't have any Xiaomi/MIUI devices to test on (though I will be looking into getting one). Is it possible that your timer is in focused mode? There would be a line under the stopwatch icon and tapping it would show the other activated timers.
As for accumulated time, I am looking into a system for automatically tracking daily time and an "all timers" option would be trivial to add to that (as would week/month/etc.). Thanks for the suggestion!
In using the app, I realized I wanted to be able to have more timers displayed at a time, so I created a small timer layout to fit more into the notification. Here's the update with that feature- enjoy!
Download it here: Notification Timer (Stopwatch)
Version 1.2.0:
Added small timer layout. With the small layout, up to twelve timers can be displayed at the same time and up to six can be displayed without having to recreate the notification after focusing on a timer. By default, the small layout will be used if five or more timers are active, but this can be changed in Settings.
Added setting to specify which layout focused timers should use.
