I have recently installed Xiaomi.eu with Miui 12 and i have an issue in locating PIP.
When i hit the home button while using google maps navigation it makes the map go into picture in picture mode witch is very annoying. Now i tried to find an setting in the maps app and in the phone settings but unable to turn it off anywhere.
Does anyone have a clue how to get that changed?

Hello,
Try to find PIP (picture-in-picture) settings and disable it for Google Maps,
normally you can find it in Phone Settings/Private Life Protection/Special Authorisation/Picture-in-picture
select MAPS and then disable the authorisation for it.
I hope it helped you

Hi all,
Up until today I was able to search for apps installed on my phone using the default google search bar.
I'm using Android 5.0.
Now when I search for an app, it only provides web results and not my installed apps.
I went to the Phone Search settings in Google Now, and it's just empty. I have nothing in the menu to select / enable/ disable.
The change I've done was to install the new Google Play Services so I could enable the Secure Locations in Smart Lock menu.
Can someone help me clear this issue?
Thanks!
Anyone? Please...
My phone search is empty
Try unistalling the update for google play services and see if you get the options back. If so you found the problem
Yes that solves it, yet I don't see anyone else getting the same issue.
What gives?

Been looking around for the past few weeks for a solution to this. I thoroughly enjoy Cortana being able to sync reminders with my Windows PCs, and decided I wanted to officially switch over to using it instead of Google Now. There are some guides out there, but only show switching a soft button on the screen to utilize this feature. However, with the Galaxy S7, it opens Google Now by holding the Home button. I went through and dug through apps attempting to change that, but couldn't get anywhere (Nothing in Cortana allowed me to make that change, and even disabling Google Now in an attempt to have Cortana be the only option available just made holding the home button not work). Anyone know where I can find a setting to change this?

All in one gestures app from the play store will let you set various keys to do different things. You could set it up to launch cortana instead of google now.

Exactly what I was looking for, and exactly did the job. Thanks!
To switch without using a third party app in the Galaxy S7:
Go to Settings
Search for "Device assistance app" and click it.
click "Device assistance app" and change it to Cortana
Hi. Just bought a new unlocked HTC U11 and am very pleased with it but I can't find Google Assistant. I've tried long pressing on the Home button but no luck. My Android version is 7.1.1 Software number is 1.13.401.1 and Play services is 11.0.55.
Am I doing something wrong (very possible!)?
Thanks in advance.
Hold down home button(fingerprint scanner), tap left bottom Google Icon, then menu top left(3 bars), then Settings, Click Enable Google Assistant.
Thanks for swift reply.
No sign of the enable Google Assistant I'm afraid.
Any thoughts?
What shows up when you hold fingerprint down?
Nothing like that I'm afraid
Just the old Google screen with the search box at the top and the box with Reminders, Events etc below
Is your Google play services up to date? I had assistant configuration as part of out of the box set-up.
Sent from my HTC U11 using Tapatalk
Deleted updates and then updated Play services and still nothing, it certainly is a mystery.
Switched my phone to English and deleted Google App data, once I pressed home button for few seconds Google Assistant setup showed..
You can try that.
Thanks for your reply, but I'm afraid still no luck.

What's the language of your phone?
What version of Google App?
I had to change my phone language and Google App language to English (US) as default, clear Google App data to have google assistant enabled.
I have the same issue (all latest firmware & software updates).
Have you tried the above solutions?
Can you go to App Drawer click Google App, 3 Bars at top Left, Then Settings. The top should be Google Assistant, subcategories under it are Settings and What can you do?
As people have stated change your language to English and then go to Settings/Apps and then to each of the Goggle Apps and clear cache. Google, Google Play Services. Then resync all.
Changing to English (US) has worked! Thanks to everyone for their help.
Are you guys able to get OK Google voice detection works? Is U11 able to wake up to these words even screen is off /locked/ screen on and unlocked? Even added to Trusted voice. I dont seems to get it work in English (US). Other then press and hold Google Assistant is working.
Possible solution to hands-free Google wakeword on U11
Setting up an HTC U11 for dual VA
1. Long press on the fingerprint reader to bring up Google Assistant.
2. Touch the drawer icon in the upper right.
3. Touch the 3 dots in the upper right.
4. Select Settings
5. Touch Phone under Devices
6. Touch ‘OK Google Detection’
7. Enable “Say OK Google any time”
Finish by saying "OK Google 3x. Now Google Assistant launches hands-free even when the screen is off.

I have tried recalibrating in Google Maps and I also tried this app but it just doesn't work. I only ever get a static grey dot, not the 'live' blue dot.
All relevant permissions are enabled and the thing is set to high accuracy. I AM using the Adguard DNS server, however.
I am in Japan. Can anybody help?
Short information

And maybe

And cloudflare?
Which app?
Feedback or a solution?

The fix linked in the MIUI forums seems to work! It's Google Maps BTW.
I had a similar issue in the recent updates of MIUI 10 and MIUI 11 (China rom - Mi 8 EE). Waze and GPS Test Plus worked but things like Whatsapp location, Google Maps and some social apps would not get my gps location. Here's what I did to fix it:
1) I download and open Quick Shortcut Maker
2) change search to "Normal search" and search for "location" (with the quotation marks)
3) expand the "Google Play Services" search result and click on "Google Location Accuracy"
4) click on "Try"
5) Toggle on the "Improve Location Accuracy" toggle.
Done.
Looks like the affected apps were getting their location from Google play services and in the Chinese rom, this toggle wasn't turned on. After I turned this on, I haven't had an issue since. Hope this helps anyone having similar issues. Cheers.

I entered the WhatsApp app settings and removed the location permission. Then I went back to Whtaspp, shared the location and gave it the permission to use Location "when using the app" and the gps in Whatsapp already works.
I have a very annoying issue with my Oppo Find X2 Pro and that is the location doesn't change. The weather app stays on the area that I am originally located and the camera watermark doesn't show location.
I have auto location turned on in settings and the setting for improved location and they don't do anything.
Any help appreciated please

I had a weird issue for awhile there where every time I restarted the phone, it would report that the location setting was turned off and I had to turn it back on. Strangely this issue seems to have fixed itself with no change on my behalf!
The only thing I can suggest for your issue is to download the 'GPS Status' app which will download updated GPS data. Not sure if this will help as just a one off or on-going but worth a try.
