Clicking on widgets from a 3rd party launcher doesn't do anything - Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) Questions & Ans

Haven't used Xiaomi for a couple of years, but this is a weird one. I use Nova Launcher (although other 3rd party launchers seem to behave the same) and the added widgets are not clickable. Have any of you encountered this and found a solution (besides changing the phone)?
LE: I managed to get it work in the end after setting "Other Permissions" -> Home screen shortcuts, Display pop-up windows while running in the background and Permanent Notifications are set to ON. Also MIUI optimization from Developer Options must pe set to ON.

[Resolved] [Q] ADWLauncher not giving me options?

Hey guys...
so i've downloaded adwlauncher (paid version) and during the first 2hours or so; i had the pop up "Complete with this action" with the choices of adwlauncher homescreen or my original stock one where i had the option to set one of them as a default. After these 2 hours, it stopped appearing? I tried restarting my phone, clear default (although there weren't none set; so the clear default icon was just flat), clear data...none of them proved to work. Pressing my home screen button just takes me to stock home screen even if i've clicked on the adw icon.
I'm using an xperia arc on the latest software update...(x-loud, horizontal homescreen etc.) Any ideas on how to fix this? All contributions greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I've solved it. I realised that i had already set the default to Sony Ericsson Home Screen as opposed to ADWLauncher; so i had to find the Sony Home Screen application in "all applications" list and the press clear default on that. No need for home switcher; although thanks for the suggestion xmsnx
Get the Home Switcher app from the Market, maybe that helps
thanks! i'll give it a try.
edit: nope didn't work? I pressed set adwlauncher as default but after i exit...its the same story. When i go back on homeswitcher...it says stock screen is default?

[Q] Vanishing Widgets with JB

Hi,
Just got HTC One X today and immediately updated to JB. After installing my apps and setting it up, I noticed that certain widgets would disappear from my home screen (Nova Launcher) and from lock screen (WidgetLocker). Only certain widgets - Battery Widget Reborn, Power Toggles, Smooth Calendar. After a reboot, they show up as grey boxes and I would have to tap and setup the widget again. Also noticed that SwiftKey would no longer be set as default keyboard and I would have to disable/re-enable to be able to choose it again.
Messed around and it's the same behavior with the stock launcher but with that, they the widgets just disappear altogether.
I did a system erase and pretty much nothing installed, same behavior. I've played with every setting to see if that had an effect but no different.
Has anyone encountered this or have any ideas on what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
Jeff

Cant seem to get a custom launcher to stick since I updated to Marshmellow

Anyone else have this problem or know of a fix? I can hit the Nova app icon and it will set it the launcher. However, as soon as I hit the home button it reverts back to default. Additionally when in Nova Settings, I tap the header that says tap to set Nova as default launcher, for a half second it acts like it is bringing up another screen momentarily but then stays on the main settings screen. It does the same thing when I scroll down to the Select Default Home where currently Huawei Home is set. I have tried other launchers additional to Nova including: Google Now, TSF, and Smart Launcher. I am currently running the latest update of Nova Launcher Prime 4.3.1, on a GEM-703L, running Android 6.0.
Thanks for any help.
Try this:
1. go to settings > apps>advanced>default app settings
That fixed it! Thank you so much!

EMUI 8.0 caused Nova Launcher to not be able to launch certain apps

After updating my Mate 9 to EMUI 8.0 some system apps (like the flashlight one) stopped working in Nova, upon trying to open it I get a toast saying "the app is not installed" or "permission denied" but the app is fully functional if opened from Huawei stock launcher. The real problem is not for the flashlight but for the lockscreen widget, which is an activity of the flashlight app. I used to launch it both with Tasker and Nova gestures when I needed to lock the screen and now it's not possible anymore, it only gives back the "permission denied" message. Both Tasker and Nova have been granted all the permissions and also been set as system administrator. Is there a way to solve this or find a workaround to let me lock the screen via Tasker? Like sending a specific intent or something along that way

i checked now, same here. But im using flashlight toggle from notif. panel on everywhere.
First I thought...no way! I use the flashlight app all the time, but, from the notification panel thingy. But sure enough...from the app itself it won't work with Nova. (I'm USA 567, the beta 321 version of Oreo).
Might be another reason they are a bit SLOW to release it everywhere too
I'm also using the flashlight from the quick settings in the notification panel, what is bugging me is that the "lock screen" widget (and also the correspondant activity that could be called by tasker) is also not working and I was looking for a solution to that problem in particular
Hi I have the same problem with the screen lock, with mate 10 pro, have you found a solution?
When I tried to configure a gesture and use screen lock shortcut it says "App isn't installed", the only way to use it is from EMUI.
Honor 9 lite, I have same problem((
Screen off and torch are only available on stock launcher (it’s build inside!).
For me and my not rooted phone, the "screen off" app is verry helpful to solve this little problem.
As torch, i use the "dashLight" app. It’s only 232k big. unfortunately it isn’t available in playstore any longer. But searching for "com.spectrl.DashLight app" can help to find it

Question Hiding the navigation bar possible ?

"adb shell settings put global force_fsg_nav_bar 1" this script does the trick but only until your next reboot.
is there a way to keep the nav bar hidden permanently ? any luck anyone ?
thanks, cheers
Why don't you just enable hide Fullscreen indicator in settings?
My mistake, wasn't clear enough..
I am trying to use a third party launcher with full screen gestures but Miui does not allow that
I don't think that's possible. There's a workaround via FNG app, in Wich you set the bottom quick action as an app and then you select your launcher, without setting it as default launcher itself. But it's not very reliable and does not work all the time. You'll get often pushed to MIUI launcher. You'll also have to hide the nav pill in settings wich makes apps to look weird (especially the keyboard)
This is what I did to use my 3rd party launcher with gestures:
