English here...
Are you using Tre Italia as carrier?
mate 8
no, I use the sim tim, but also the vodafone sim does not work, when I insert the sim, I get the message that the line LTE / 3G only works with Chinese card
I think that is locked i have the mate 8 and in work fine, i tried tim and Vodafone, try to search how to unlook the phone
Telefonica (O2, simyo, eplus) works fine on my AL10 with LTE. Maybe only Sim slot 1 can handle LTE?
No n of the two slots makes me go or lte 3g
oooh crap.... go and check which version of the mate 8 u have there @umbspina
it could very well be that they sold u the china telecom locked version.... was is AL00 or smth? u can check the model number in settings under about phone / model number
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 using Tapatalk
the model number ends with CL00, but does not work on 3G and LTE with no sim Italian, Vodafone, win, Three and TIM. It works just the band 2G, you think with a European software can solve the problem?if you enter 2 sin read only one, the one with bay 2g
theres ur problem. u have a locked phone that only works with one specific chinese telecommunications provider...
Sent from my Huawei Mate 8 using Tapatalk
and so there is no way to make it work?
Have you checked the mobile network settings:
Impostazioni->Altro-->Rete mobile->Tipo di rete preferito
no idea. there are unlock codes for such phones to make them work in other networks as well. the dc unlocker tool used to unlock the bootloader of the mate 8 also includes options to unlock networt carrier locked phones, maybe that would help...

I have the similar problem. The thing is that DC Unlocker "Unlock" option is "grayed out"...
Also even if I get Unlock code, where do I enter it, usually such locked phones prompt for unlock code when attempt to use not supported sim card on it.
i imagine u have to use cmd in an adb shell to input a specific command that unlocks the phone...not sure though
Seems like there is a growing number of people with this problem and I'm sure more will arise. Wonder if someone with a working phone could help us out with a rom of there working phone or settings or something.
well thats the thing: there is no one yet who has gotten a carrier locked china telecom mate 8 to work with a different sim card...
as for unlocking the bootloader, the dc-unlocker website and even the tool itself actually give detailed step by step instructions on how to get credits, how to setup ur phone, how to read out the bootloader code and how to apply it to unlock the phone's bootloader people just have to do their part and READ no offense, just dont like it when people are lazy...i did the same, after all

Hi Everyone,
I have a Huawei P20 EML-L09 single sim from the French operator Orange.
I would like to transform it into a dual sim working phone. I didn't find any relevant information's about that, except that i will need to rebrand it.. And now i'm stuck.
Does anyone already do this ?
it seem's that i have to rebrand it into an EML-L29, but I dont know how, where to find tools and images, and also if it will brick the phone or not. Also i'm lost with country codes, mine is C109 .
Many thanks !

You can change your model to EML-L29 (dual SIM) but you will not be able to use the dual SIM because of the hardware.

Hello, are you sure ? Because some post says that it works (it's seem's to be the same hardware).
Do you have a procedure for me ?
You are joking.
Hardware is not the same, on single sim version there is only one sim port. You can check it by taking off the sim tray and looking inside the sim port. You will see only contacts for SD card and for one SIM.
If some post says that it work, pelase go ask author of that post.

Seriously?
this is impossible. Hardware is the same base but totally differrent setup. You can rebrand but that will do nothing but change your model description to another region/model.
Not offending but this is the dumbest question i ever read on xda
The hardware supports dual SIM. You need to buy the dual SIM tray though.
Also, I have rebranded and then changed over to dual SIM using funky Huawei. I was left with a fully functional dual SIM and broken speaker sound volume. It was stuck at 20% and no matter how many resets I did could not get it fixed.
You also loose bootloader unlock using Funky Huawei. I luckily had my phone replaced under warranty...

Hi guys !
Is it possible to convert the global version to a dual sim if you get like the dual sim tray from the chinese version and put it inside the global phone and work with both sims?
Or you need other things like a custom rom that enables the 2nd sim? I find it very curious why they opted for the single sim tray for the global version considering that i don't think they did any modification under the hood of the phone.
For me it's horrible going from a dual sim phone to a single sim considering that most of the people have one personal sim and one for work

It would be very interesting if someone managed to try the chinese version's sim tray because it looks like the hw is all there
I wonder if it could be this easy tho
Someone one the Mi 10 forum just tried and didn't work, at least with the global ROM. Maybe with the xiaomi.eu ROM......
check the global version from hong kong which seems to have enabled dual sim but check if the network bands are compatible in your country.
Check here -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-10-pro/help/to-xiaomi-mi-10-pro-global-version-t4077141
It's Global version with DUAL SIM.
You're welcome
What do you mean Global Version dual sim?
With the Hong Kong Mi10 Pro, if i slot the 2nd sim in, will the phone really become dual sim?

if you're talking about gearbest, they are only selling single sim global version.
Why not buying Chinese version and flash xiaomi.eu rom
if buying a china phone and flash it with Europe rom, will the phone be dual sim?
Yes but you won't have all of the 4g bands needed for Europe

because flashing rom will disable your banking apps.
If flash it will Europe ROM, will the phone need to be rooted? i worry after flashing, i wont pass Android Safetynet Test... thus cannot use Google Pay.

no need to root but you have to settle with unlocked bootloader
An Stupid move from Xiaomi, not just sell the Global version with higher price, but to release it with one sim slot! After 8 year with Xiaomi, I'm moving to ONEPLUS 8 Pro. I'm so upset because of that, have to sell my others Xiaomi gadgets! But i will do that because they proved so many times that don't care about customers opinion! China, the b a s t a r ds that spread a virus and earn money from it !

I flashed xiaomi.eu to my mi note 10 and before it mi 9 pro 5g which was China exclusive
I had no problems with banking apps not Netflix for example
Did u have any experience with any mi device that broke ur banking applications?

There wont be any problems because his post was false. You keep your safetynet status and widevine L1 if you flash the eu rom. Everything is working.
Also, to finally answer the question: Someone on the german forum "android-hilfe" flashed the EU Rom on his Global mi 10 pro, and automatically got 2 IMEI numbers assigned. It looks like everyone should be able to just flash the eu rom and use the dual sim feature, even if you have the global variant.

I stand corrected.. My worry is if I have an unlocked bootloader, some function will not work like safetynet, etc.. I don't really care about root anymore, I just don't wanna break anything om the phone. By the way, great to learn that CN version can be flashed with eu rom without a problem. same goes for global version to enable dual sim.

Everything works with unlocked bootloader, obviously I don't try you're banking app, gpay working fine on EU, so basically someone needs to buy a dual SIM tray and see if it works? I'm on Chinese version
I'm waiting for the double tray to arrive and I'll try the European rum. If it does not work, I will flash Xiaomi.eu rom. I have this setting in my Mi10 with stock rom. This is single sim version.
Hello,
I'm getting my Chinese Mi 10 Pro in 3 days. It has Global ROM pre-installed but I think it's probably better to flash the EU rom.
Does anyone know if the dual sim work with EU rom?
Thanks!

Mi 10 Pro works fine with Xiaomi.eu ROM and dual SIM works perfectly
Yes , with EU rom dual sim worked. I Have MI 10Pro from China and I tried all of roms. EU rom based on China firmware.
I just got the global version, with single SIM. It really has a single sim tray which does not allow for a second SIM.
What I'm asking myself is: when I buy a dual sim tray and install xiaomi.eu firmware after unlock, am I then able to use the phone with dual SIM?

that's what people have been saying. dual sim works on xiaomi.eu rom if you replace the sim tray with dual.
Flashed Xaomi.eu rom Miui12 20.5.24 beta
and now I can see(software vise) both sim slots and different imei.
Just waiting double sim tray to arrive
