Data disappears but signal strength is still full bars - Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Questions & Answers

Got the phone this week and a couple days ago something weird happened. I was on Wifi and when i went out of the house, the wifi obviously disconnected. When i arrived at my destination, i noticed that i had no mobile data. Thinking it was just data connection issue, i tried turning on and off mobile data in the notification shade but to no avail. I then tried doing the same with airplane mode and again full bars with no data coming through. I did a restart of the phone and same results. What i did then was a swap of a sim card with my other phone and the mobile data returned! This was an annoying fix as i had to find a sim ejector tool.
This morning, same issue happened again. The only way to get mobile data back was to swap the sim cards back and forth. I do not think this is a hardware issue as the sim cards can be read. Is this a known bug among xiaomi devices or am i missing something?

Having the same issue, sometimes switch airplane mode fixes it, sometimes need a reboot.

[Q] Connection Problems

For the past couple weeks I have been having major connection problems with 3G & WiFi. It would just stop working, even though the bars would be there and show that it is working, but nothing would load. Normally have to turn off Wifi or data for a couple minutes and then turn it back on, or reboot, but even then it does not last that long.
I found on these forums and other places that people seem to have been having the same issue and was caused by the recent update from SuperSU and something it was giving permissions to called mksh. So I denied it permissions, continued to have problem, I went back to the older version, still the saem, I removed the program, and started using just normal Superuser, and the problem still continues.
I was for sure this was the problem, but the program is gone now. I know it can't really be the mksh by itself because it's part of the android OS. For awhile I thought it might have been my SIM card but quickly realised that well WiFi is a problem as well, not just 3G data.
Any one have ideas about this? It's getting really annoying and almost not usable.
BUMP, anyone, this is getting quite annoying. I have searched and done everything possible.
Still needing help.
I don't like bumping this all the time.
I have done all the searching I can, no one has similar problems, no one has any ideas?
Still looking for some answers.
I guess I am the only one.
service issue
toggle airplane mode and if it works call your provider it sounds like a issue with your service

What do you mean by toggle Airplane mode, when having the problem, turn it on, then turn it off, to see if service works again?
Yes that works, that is what I do most of the time, actually most of the time I have airplane mode on, and then have only wifi enabled.
Either way, how does troubles with WiFi as well as 3G connections mean a problem with my service provider? They don't provide WiFi
Anyone..

[Q] Data Connection problem

I am having problem with my data connection on my Samsung Galaxy Tab2. I start using the internet connection with no problems then at one point i lose data connection all other serviced work well sms and calls. In order to get my data connection back i either have to restart phone or else go to flight mode and off flight mode again (flight mode thing sometimes works and sometimes doesn't).
Sometimes, it also says "No SIM Card". This complete issue typically happens when I have the 2G internet ON and the phone gets locked automatically. When I unlock it again, I see these issues.
So far, this issue happened only with 2G connection. Now, today, the No Sim Card message came up when I left the Wi-Fi button on and left the phone for a while. :crying:
I have tried selecting "GSM Only" in the network settings. I am using Vodafone IN (Andhra Pradesh, India) network. All other threads on google suggest flight mode and restart but I don't want to restart so many times in a day... This happens everytime and the frequency is increasing.
Is anyone experiencing a similar problem? Any solutions for these?
do one thing bro! backup all your data, contacts. do a factory reset of your device! all the things will work like butter! use titanium backup available on playstore!
:laugh::laugh:

[Q] Constantly loosing connection

Almost since I got my nexus 5 last year it has been loosing its connection about two times per day. It does this in three different ways.
1. total loss. The little outline of a triangle appears and a notification that I have lost my connection. Clicking the notification opens the manual selection of networks. I select the network and all is fine.
2. full connection with an exclamation mark. solves it self by waiting for a while.
3. full connection with H/3G but when trying to access the internet there is no connection. This one is really weird. The solution here is top open the quick settings, select flight mode, which greys out the connectivity triangle but keeps the H or 3G part white on top of the greyed out triangle that has a slash over it. About a minute later the H or 3G disappears and I can turn off aeroplane mode. This either restores the connection or jumps to problem one.
First I thought its a hardware problem, but since I don't want to part with my phone I never sent it back to google for fixing.
When android 5.1 was released I installed that manually and surprisingly did not have any problems at all after this. But then I went abroad and using the same sim connected to a local network in the country I went to. It took 4 tries to join one of those networks. When I then came home this problem started again.
My thought is that there is some setting that should be there that stayed from my trip. I have tried clearing all caches from the storage in settings and the dalvik cache. No difference. I'm not to keen on re-installing my phone again. So my question is, has this happened to anyone else? Did you solve it? Is there something I can do to remove all previous settings for the network to make it work again? Other suggestions?
This happens to me, at least 4 times a day for me, it has only been doing it since I installed 5.1 on my nexus 5, which was a brand new one from Google since I smashed my screen and they just gave me a new one, I'm in the UK btw, not sure where you are but it does take forever to connect to mobile network when I turn wifi off too.
I constantly lose connection at my house going from E to H+ to LTE throughout the day

I'm in Spain.
For me it happened before 5.1 as well. But 5.1 fixed it temporarily, until I travelled with my phone. Have you had to switch to another network with that phone?
For some reason when manually looking for a network it seems to be running on a timeout function because it takes me 60 seconds to get the list, always. This feels like a very antique solution, they should just populate the list as a network is found like wifi does it.

Data not reconnecting (CM12.1) after disconnecting from WiFi

Please be patient with me, I'm not massively tech-savvy.
I have a OnePlus One with CM 12.1-YOG4PAS3JL.
I have the same issue as described on the Cyanogen forum - but with CM 12.1. I've posted there but nobody has responded! Issue is as follows:
After being connected to WiFi for hours, my phone will not reconnect to data after losing WiFi signal. Phone signal is fine. The fix is to turn aeroplane mode ON/OFF or to restart my phone. If I connect to WiFi for 2 minutes and dis-connect, this problem does not occur. After restarting the phone or turning aeroplane mode ON/OFF, this problem will re-occur after being connected to WiFi for an extended period of time.
My phone is apparently on the latest OnePlus One version of CM, yet my problem seems eerily similar to the above thread I described - so this seems like a known problem. I've contacted OPO Support but let's just say their responses are slow.
Thanks for any advice. APN settings are fine & already done a full factory reset - did not help. SIM not changed, data plan not changed.
The phone has just gone over 6 months old (6 months and a few days), so I'm not sure whether OnePlus One are going to try and get out of any warranty clause. I have never installed any OS apart from what the phone told me to download in 'check for system updates'.
Thiis issue is fixed on CM13 Nightlly.

Use profiles. I use this in RR 12.1.
Default profile -->when connect your WiFi -->preferred network --> 2g
Create a new profile, example:
Street profile --> when disconnect your WiFi --> preferred network --> 2g/3g/4g
It did trick for me.

Ulefone Armor 8 Pro - strange data bahaviour

Hi, recently I bought Ulefone Armor 8 Pro for my wife, and there is a strange problem with it. When she enables the GSM data, ther switch lights up, but there is not internet connection (also the arrows near the signal icon do not appear). She then has to go to connection settings, and change the preferred network from 4G to 3G. It then starts to work fine, but when she disables the data for the night, and enables it the next morning, there is no internet again. She then has to go to the settings again, and change the preference back to 4G, and it starts working until she turns the data off.
Turning the data off and on again after a short time does not cause any issues.
If the data starts working, the network preference can be changed around and everything keeps working. The issue appears only after disabling the data for a long time (I don't know how much).
I filed a problem report with Ulefone a week ago, but they didn't answer. Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?
I have also this model, and no problems.
Check if there are any ROM updates available.
