I have a Mate 9 pro from Hong Kong LON-AL29. I could try and extract the Rom possibly. I thought all versions had all of the languages though?

Yes, they are but some of the features are still in chinese, like the inbuilt software from huawei, hiapp, etc. The only way to get a global version with all apps in english version will be if i changed to global one. Are you able to extract it?

I just ordered a Nex S that's supposed to be the Global model and would like to know from anyone who has either model whether it's possible to identify the difference on the box. It's coming in tomorrow and if it's Chinese I'd like to return immediately without opening the box if possible.

I assume you have the Kirin 9000 p50 pro, how's the battery life?

Yep, ive done so recently. Unlocking bootloader and installing the global rom... It was pretty straight forward but I ran into a lot of problems thanks to windows with my ADB drivers and miflash works. If u run into errors there's heaps of good guides on youtube you can look at based on your error type.

yes, I installed the global ROM and Google Pay doesn't work. if you look at the ad you will see that it is the CN version with Global ROM and it works with Google Pay and OTA updates.

I do not recommend it, the solution would be to root and use Magisk hide without being sure to have a result but for the moment it is not possible on MIUI 13
