Phone runs slower than usual after fastboot rom flash attempt - OnePlus 8 Questions & Answers

Hey all,
i'm just reporting that I attempted to do an international conversion with my tmobile op8 using the fastboot roms. I was unsuccessful and figured I went about it the wrong way.
Mind you, I did get the unlock code from oneplus.com (took them exactly 1 week to provide this to me via email) and unlocked the bootloader.
In any event, I was in fastboot mode and using the adb tools and double clicked on flash all -- unsuccessful.
Not my first time flashing my phone, let alone rooting it, but oneplus is now making it increasingly difficult for the conversion (they onto us)
Any cohesive assistance is greatly appreciated. No flamers please, as in, haters.

note to mod: Please delete this thread/post. I used msm to bring phone back to original settings until a stable method for international conversion comes around.

T-Mobile Rooted?? Global Firmware?

So I am rooted now can someone point me in the direction to load Global firmware on my phone? I keep reeding that it wont work on "Branded Phones", can I load it or not! And can I also use Oxygen Updater as well, and if I can is the only way through TWRP?
Thanks for suggestions and answers.:highfive:

There's a thread in the guides news and discussions section all about converting the T-Mobile device to global. Pretty sure the T-Mobile variant is the only one you can convert. Just read the thread and be certain you have the OP8 drivers installed on your computer or you'll be stuck trying to figure out why your device isn't being recognized in fastbootd and you keep getting unable to flash critical partition errors (it'll be because you don't have the RIGHT drivers and you're in fastboot, not fastbootd).. just read the OP a couple times and be certain you have the T-Mobile MSM tool in case it takes you a few tries to get it.

In2017 to global guide?

I've searched and soft bricked and restored via msm and even got twrp on one time. Is there a straight forward guide anywhere that shows the process of going from stock TMobile android 10 or 11 to the global device software? Im either misunderstanding it or just can't find it. The one guide that i thought was correct was good all the way until it got to the part where it said not for branded devices but there's not actually a link that leads to a section to do branded devices. Please help as this thing is almost unusable on mint mobile with the current stock rom.
I mean I know there is the wip guide in the other forum. But I can't seem to get out of crash dump or fastboot loop so I figured maybe that's the wip part of it?
I can't stress enough to read, read, read. There are not that many threads here so it should be pretty easy to do. I'm posting the link to convert to global for you. Used it many times. In fact I used it this weekend. Happy modding!
[ROM][STOCK][FASTBOOT][OP8] Stock Fastboot ROMs for OnePlus 8
Things are changing with the advent of project treble and seamless updates. OnePlus will no longer release ROMs flashable via recovery (either stock) because is no more needed. The updates will be done on the slot not used for example if you are...

.
i dont know if you have been succesful yet or not but the WIP guide is the way to go. Like you i kept getting flash dump error then flash back to t-mobile and very frustrated.
but if you read through the forum with the wip guide, somewhere it mentions that you have to first flash an earlier t-mobile version of OOS then you can flash the same version Global OOS and just like that it worked for me. After you can upgrade to the latest.
i hope that helps.

Stuck in bootloader ive tried i need help

I've tried so many things it's still not working I've tried flash all and flashing them separately is there any other way to fix this ?
I need help urgently
You must use msm tool to get back to the original Android version.

Is there an alternative to msm
Well,
As you already know, your first message is quite confuse, we don't know what your flashed and where to..
Giving the details, your best chance is to operate the msm method to revice your phone. Especially, if this is an urgent matter;

Question Your device is corrupt. Oneplus 9

I tried putting the beta of OOS13 on my Oneplus and now i get that error message and ive been trying for so long.
the serial number is fb7b98a9
Flash by edl if you can't do it then pm I'll fix it by tv
Could you elaborate a little further? Are you just not able to flash OO13 beta or has the attempt of doing so corrupted your device completely?
If the latter, You will most likely need to flash an emergency MSMToolkit. It is an Indian OP9Pro variant but will bring your device back from the dead. Once that is done, you will just run a proper MSMToolkit and be right as rain.
EtherealRemnant wrote up an amazing guide on how to carry this out. SO amazing that its the only guide stickied on the 9 forums, currently.
- Here is a mega hosted copy of the Indian OP9Pro MSMToolkit,
I can personally vouch for the guide, as my 9 went into a bricked state with vague errors about corrupted system. I tried every toolkit, recovery and ROM and nothing worked. Thats when EthRem came to my rescue. Hopefully his work can come to yours as well.
and if that isn't what you meant and are just dying to get into OOS13, id just stick with one of the many A13 ROMs currently available. OOS13 is beautiful but, i just cant honestly suggest using Oneplus software anymore.
Good luck

try it again. if anything, you will be attempting on the other slot. Many haves had issues and it just started working.
it could have been slot related, or possibly some minor detail that is finicky. (ex. you usually want to start the msmtoolkit and let it stay in the "waiting for device" phase and plug in your phone (which should be in EDL mode . youll know by the peeps of it habitually connecting/disconnecting on your PC)
assure you have india selected, assure you have the proper conditionals on/off per the guide's explication.
Assure you have the qualcom drivers installed, and they reflect the naming convention.
follow along the guide again and Just keep attempting it and don't get discouraged. Part of the reason people offer guides here is that they themselves failed many times until they got they figured it out and are trying to save people from it.
youll get it, dont worry.
I had this problem because I flashed a custom kernel on a custom rom today

OP 8T rooted, return to stock OOS13 but do not have the original boot.img

Hi All,
Thank you for all the valuable info in all the threads.
I am a noob to newer android systems but have rooted older androids and the Iphone 1.
I have looked everywhere, at least I think so, but cannot find answers to my specific questions.
I rooted my phone and now want to revert back to stock and lock, basically as if I just bought it.
I received all of OTA and was on oos13 (March 2023) but got boot looped when unlocking it.
I used MSM kebab_15_ 0.12 to get back on oos11
I have Magisk & Shizuku & Yasnac installed and do not know if they need to be removed or treated in any way.
Since I was on oos11 I did a local back up on the phone using oos13 zip file as from what I read it would bring me back to stock but I am still rooted.
Magisk app says I need to restore the app "because the hidden Magisk app cannot work because the root was lost. Please restore the original APK"
Also missed a line in the instruction so I did not save the original boot.img file for a KB2005 Global.
Phone is working but I am still in OEM unlock and it is grayed out.
Cheers!

You want to return to stock with a locked bootloader? Well all you have to do is find the proper msm tool then flash it and be sure to check/mark "refurbish"
Thank you so much for your response.
I downloaded what seem to be the right tool.
It unbricked my phone but still has Magisk & Shizuku & Yasnac installed.
The only check box I see on the page is upgrade and no refurbish.
I used this file OnePlus_8T_Global_OxygenOS_11.0 that version 4.0
Could you please point me in the direction of the correct tool? It would be appreciated.
Thanks again for your response.
Cheers!
Update.
Thank you BobbyLynn.
Almost everything is back to normal.
I have a problem with sms/mms not allowing me to send texts with my 2nd Sim Card.
This function worked before I did all of this.
I am using Google Messages and as you can see in the attached screenshot the choice is there but when I select Home it always reverts back to Work automatically.
I did find a command that someone used on an HTC phone which seems to make sense but I do not have grant access to add this line using ADB.
"adb shell settings put global multi_sim_sms null"
Would you know another way or do you have an apk for the com.android.mms.service?
Thanks for your continued support.
Cheers!
