10.3.4 WiFi and 5g connectivity issues - OnePlus 6 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I've been having a WiFi and 5g issue since upgrading to android 10. My WiFi disconnects and reconnects randomly, and this is not an issue with my router. If I turn off WiFi, my 5g does something similar. It disconnects and reconnects.
I do have magisk installed but no modules currently.
Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using the stock kernel?

Yes I am using stock kernel. Also to clarify I'm on oos 10.3.4
Im considering downgrading to 9.x.x because it so bad at the moment

Hi,
I'm having similar issues and considering going back to 9.x also.
Have you done it or managed to fix it otherwise?
I am currently full stock 10.3.4 after a full factory reset and still the same issue. (which happened also on lineageOS 17.1 so is it possibly a modem firmware issue?)

[Q] Wi-Fi issue on 5.1 stock

Hi, I have a big issue on my Nexus 5 runnig L 5.1. Basically, I made some mistakes flashing various rom/kernels so I had to wipe evrything and flash the stock rom in order to fix it. Evrithing went fine, but now my wi-fi doesn't seem to work. I can't see any wifi network.
I have unlocked bootloader with the latest twrp. Hope you can help me solve my usse. Thanks in advance!
Turns out it wasn't the issue, but I managed to fix it. Basically the 5.1 hates wi-fi on channel 12 or 13, so I fixed it changing my router's channel from 12 to 10. So I leave this post here, just in case somone alse has some issue. You may close.

Help in isolating hardware/software issue in radio/modem

Hi,
I was running CM12.1 with TWRP + SuperSU without any issues until I broke the screen . Then I replaced the screen and started seeing intermittent issues with GSM signal. There would be signal for some time and it'll drop intermittently. I thought that it would be a software issues and upgraded to cm13.1 and then cm14.1 and finally lineageos 14.1 . I still see the same issues. I've tried changing the firmware as well and don't see any improvement.
How do I debug whether this is a hardware issue? Can I view some log/kernel messages which can be used for debugging the actual. Looking for more systematic approach to debugging the issue.
ROM : LineageOS 14.1
modem firmware: DI.3.0.c6-00241-M8974AAAAANAZM-1
TWRP version: 3.0.2-0

Tried a couple of firmware. Just tried XNPH44S-modem.bin from cm11s. Looks like it's stable. Let me monitor it for some more time and see how that works.

MAC Address 02:00:00:00:00:00

After updated to Lineage 17.1 i am facing problems with Wifi. In Lineage 17.1 everything works fine (except wifi-calling and volte). When flashing back to Stock (via Oreo-RUU or TWRP Restore) i don't get any wifi-connection. If turning on wifi, system turns off immediately. In settings I found, that mac address is 02:00:00:00:00:00... searching this problem, i found out, that this problem happened often via update from android 5 -> 6. Flashing Stock ROMs didn't help, restore of prior LeeDroid Backup neither.
Did anybody face this problem in former times? Does anybody know where MAC is stored / what the problem may be?

I am experiencing the exact same issue. Same MAC address, same wifi issue. I tried flashing to stock Oreo, same issue. I'm going to try flashing stock Nougat, but I have doubts about that working. I also tried clean flashing the RR-P 7.0.2 ROM, and the same issue happens there too. I could not fin a way to restore the MAC address. I was able to look up the original address from my router's device log . . .
My HTC is the US T-Mobile version. @Golv can you help us with this new issue?
-UPDATE-
So far, going to stock Nougat INSTANTLY works. Right on the setup menus, all the wifi networks show up. Odd how stock Oreo gave us issues, but Nougat didn't. Will be going to RR-P 7.0.2 and seeing if the fix sticks I removed the SIM card when I put the phone back to Nouagt BTW if that affects anything.
-UPDATE 2-
Flashed stock Oreo after flashing Nougat, and in the setup menus, the wifi networks are showing up in STOCK OREO. Still with SIM removed. Now to flash the RR-P rom and see if I'm all set.
-FINAL UPDATE-
Flashed RR-P 7.0.2. Everything is back to normal.

Thank you very much! I checked whether the sim card has an effect, removed it and flashed Stock Oreo -> problem still exists. Then i flashed Nougat an experienced the same effect: Wifi worked right on the setup menu.
@Golv do you have any idea why this happens? I think, this problem should affect anybody, who wants to go back to prior versions.

I believe it is related to the hosd_signed.img file that likely writes over the persist partition. By downgrading, we are overwriting the hosd and the nougat ruu then formats and rewrites a new MAC address. It was interesting to see this happening, but I'm glad I found a workaround.
Sorry for the delay in reply. For some reason notifications stopped coming to me ...
Most likely you should change Mac address setting from random to device’s Mac address before switching to stock (Settings - Network - Wifi - Network details - Advanced - Privacy - USE DEVICE MAC).

Wifi Issue after reinstalling android Q rom

Hello! Everything was working fine a couple of days ago, then I had to reinstall rom because it wouldn't let me type my password.
Did everything as usual when there have been no problems but now it won't show any wifi connections at all.
It shows IP-adress but no Wifi mac-adress.
Tried different versions of twrp for android Q roms, different firmware updates all from 10.3.0 to 10.3.3 but still nothing.
If I go back to stock oxygen the Wifi is fine.
Been using many different android Q roms with magisk but could magisk be a problem in new Q versions?
"UPDATE"
Seems the Wifi problem appears when I update from stock 8.1.0 OTA to 9.0.9.
If anyone has any suggestion I would appreciate it.
Kind regards

Periodic Wifi reconnect with any A11 Custom Rom (but not OOS)

Hi there,
Yesterday i decided it would be time to upgrade my old Syberia 3.9 + microg install.
I thought it would be best to start with a fresh OOS installation, so I used the MSM tool to install OSS 10.3.7 and updated it to 10.3.12 OTA.
After successfully booting Syberia 4.9 I discovered that my Wifi periodically reconnected every second or so which made Wifi completely unusable.
I thought it may be a Syberia issue so I went back to OOS 10 and the issue was gone. So I switched to dotOS 5.2.1 and after that to Havoc OS 4.12 but couldn't get Wifi to work properly.
Rn I'm on OOS 11 which again works without any problem.
What am I missing? How do i fix this issue? I really don't want to use OOS + gapps....
I'm on LineageOS since a month (A11), and I've been experiencing the same thing. Every week or so, this issue occurs. A reboot resolves it, but it's still annoying. Never had anything like it on OOS though.
